It's so annoying riders couldn't just be a steep 2 with more sportsz the snow, the tricks and feeling of steep is just so much better, the only things riders have over Steep is map size and more sports
this is also a comparison of beta gameplay to fully released patched gameplay. im sure riders will become pretty dang smooth after the release and patches
What you guys don't get is the fact that RR is not meant to be Steep 2. They even said it in an interview. RR is made to be more arcade-ish. Probably in the future we will have a game like Steep 2. I agree with the fact that Steep is and will always be the best game when it comes to winter sports but RR is freaking awesome. Having a game that has 75% of the extreme sports is amazing and I hope that the game will be amazing for the years to come. Enjoy the game, have fun and go nuts on the tricks
I think both games have their place. I think Riders Republic borrows a lot from Forza Horizon especially FH5 in it's styling and I think it pulls off that style very well.
I think that steep and riders republic are just two different games. Steep does well at representing the lonely, desolate, and depressing atmosphere of the mountains. But riders republic is all about having fun above all things. It is supposed to be over the top and arcadey, while steep is suppsosed to be more desolate. But i do gotta say, the first person in RR is absolutely nuts!
i never saw steep as desolate, i saw that it more or less captured a feeling of solitude, and the feeling of discovery since you never know what crazy spot you might find when you go and explore. but that's just me, guess it's all in the eye of the beholder X3
Well behind that beautiful and colourful tone of STEEP is the lack of roaming NPC's and bustling Snow Resorts really makes you think that you're the only person in this mountain and the only people you talk to are the ones on you're walkie talkie (I don't think they exist you're just going crazy).
Steep has so many ways for us to be creative with our tricks that riders republic just can’t compete with. Like trying to manipulate the game so we can hit cork 1’s and 3’s. I’ll probably only play RR for mountain biking

Just played RR for the first time today and I have to say...STEEP is MUCH better imo , RR felt slow and a little "kiddish" to me ...I can see my 11 yr old nephew absolutely loving it!

After hating the RR Beta/post launch free week, I decided to wait until the game was on offer to get it. I can happily say the full game delivered much better (the beta was choppy and there was a ton of input lag). I will say though, the arcadey feel to RR is certainly not my preference. If you're looking for a winter sports game with awesome momentum, serious G-force and funny AF ragdoll physics and character comments, get Steep. If you prefer arcadey, totally unrealistic gameplay but with so much more to offer, get RR. I personally play both, as they're certainly both fun. But admittedly, the snowy areas just don't feel anywhere near as fun to zip around in on RR.
RR just looks way too janky and unrealistic, the camara doesn’t really help either, doesn’t rlly compete with steep in the winter sport aspects of things, great arcade game for just screwing around and having a good time, multiplayer aspect of RR is way better tho. It’s basically like comparing asetto Corsa to grand turismo.
I bought RR ( being a big steep fan ) and i have to say... its good, its not ad realistic or dramatic as steep but it nails the punk craziness of the sports it presents, the variety of sports is amazing, the open world is fun and has a lot of fun activities
Steep objectively had better physics and feels far better. Something about playing it felt so nice. Riders on the other hand just feels ok. It feels more preset animations than physics engine and it’s really sad they went in that direction.

This gameplay is misleading because he's playing with autoland assist. on manual landing you can pull off much faster rotations

Rr makes you feel like you snorted a line of coke with how fast you move, very unrealistic to go 0-80 on a bicycle in 2 seconds
