I have a Christing record from 1692-1693 but I don't know what church it has my great grandfather's name Gideon Whitta Wade his daughter is Mary but it doesn't list the mother why is that? The mother had the biggest part didn't she? I'm trying to figure out who my great grandfather was married to .
I actually used to live on the outskirts of Sheffield Mark. But rarely went in since Barnsley was closer so it made more sense to go there. I doubt Sheffield is one of the poorest cities, I always thought it seemed quite affluent. In England and Wales Id have said the poorest is probably Middlesbrough. The people there are quite friendly and straight cut. Maybe see if you can get up there some time and check it out. Try a Parmo while you are there. It's a teeside treasure 🪙

I've not been to Cornwall yet, but I'm hoping to go there for a few days in summer.
