I got my hands on one of these gumball machines with no keys and a cracked cylinder so i wanted to restore it to factory new..
I had to drill out one of the locks to access the door to continue disassembly and install the new lock. Tools needed is in the video,
you may or may not need those pliers since mine I was able to loosen by hand.

This is exactly the type of footage I was looking for. Recently got an old used gumball machine that is in dire need of work and no key.

@@RockoOmazing did your gumball machine come pre-drilled for the rope light? I’d love to add a rope light, but I have no idea how to feed a cord through solid fiberglass. 🤔
@@kirsti1734 yeah this one already came this way but if your handy i don't think it would be too hard to add a rope light, though you'd have to go through disassembling it all of course and probably sticking the rope light inside with crazy glue or something.. doesn't have to be a rope light either could be an led strip.. you would hide the wires at the base and drill a hole thru the back for the power cord.. id make a video on how to do so but i don't have a gumball machine anymore lol if you do get to it and need help just send me a comment.. 👍

Question where did you buy your parts I have one I am trying to fix up that is a full size or I guess it's called the original which is about 5 ft

Im looking for a machine that "agitates" the product inside so it does not necessarily dispenses the one on the bottom. I want one that mixes the product up before it dispenses the item. I havent seen any
that sounds a bit high tech do they even exist? im sure its doable putting some kind of motor or something in the middle but the gumballs would prob crack ..atleast the shell that has the color... maybe not though.. post a link if you find any
i just did some research, if your good with electrical you could probably faster a hollow shaft motor in the center where the rod good to hold the lid then probably weld like 4 flaps to the motor to stir the gumballs and then wire it to some kinda of motion sensor so when someone walks by itll start to stir... but then also youd have to wire some kinda of speed regulator so the motor doesnt spin like a blender inside... but then youd have to see if that wont cause the mechanism that holds the gumball in place at the bottom to accidentally release the gumball down the hole... its doable if you have the time and put the effort in... just seems like a decent amount of work lol

prob something is stuck in it, taking it apart and trying to fix it is one way to fix it i guess or just by new hardware for it? should work fine if its new
