  • Vusi is a consummate speaking professional! On and off stage. He doesn’t just talk business - he lives it. For real, he walks, talks and breathes it! You see he does more than simply inspire revolution, he’s the guy that initiates it.
He has been the catalyst for change in businesses across the globe through expertise in strategy, leadership and sales.
A staggering 21 global cities have experienced Vusi. Oh and add New York, London, Paris, Lagos, Jersey, Guernsey, Rio de Janeiro, Dar es Salaam, Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, Colombo, Nairobi, Kampala, San Francisco to the list.
That’s what you get when you talk about things that make perfect sense.
    So let’s begin… Vusi is a disruptor.
At 25 he ran a R400mn division in a R17bn multi-national and today is widely regarded as one of the most disruptive forces in venture capital in Africa. He was amongst the youngest directors of a listed company in South Africa and now serves on several boards.
Currently, he is the CEO of a boutique investment & advisory firm in Africa. Leading by example, his firm forces medium, large and listed businesses into much needed, often painful, always lucrative new directions.
Having graced the covers of Entrepreneur Magazine, with features on Forbes and Inc500, his social media engagement often mirrors that of a Rockstar.

Just watched this today in a moment where I feel overwhelmed by my current position at work and the project I am working on. I am glad I watched this, it gave me the motivation to try harder because the project was given to me to challenge me and help me grow. The stress I have right now is fear and I will over come it

Thanks for the talk Vusi. Leadership consists of the following qualities:
    Forward-thinking
    Clear guidance + communication
    Confidence
The spirit to balance emotional intelligence with logic
Truly in this time i have found it difficult to identify a leader that stands out for me in industries.

Hi. For me I can say leadership has been my strongest suit since childhood. It's really easy at making tough decisions and sorting out complex issues. If there is anything that irritates me is incompetent leadership, and stagnancy - those two came provoke me to take charge. I generally don't wait, I just lead. Leadership just finds me. Most times, Im just thrown into it.

i agree 100%, I have absolutely been in really difficult situations where i was called to lead and i had to make really tough calls and in those moments, you truly get to understand what it means to be a leader because you need to do exactly that, lead: verb. There are many great leaders in our uncles who make tough calls at family meetings etc.

    • 'Leadership is not about qualification'
    • 'Leadership is not about Tenure'
    • ' It's easy to be a leader when every thing is smooth and on auto pilot'
But in times of uncertainty and turbulence, that's where true leadership reveals it's self.
'Every body wants High Rank' but don't want the responsibilities that come with it'
Leadership is about being groomed into the role of a leader.
I think in my opinion a lot of Organisations misinterpret/ confuse a Leader, Manager and Specialist role.

Makes perfect sense, particularly the elastic example. You're a manager, pastor etc until pressure is applied, wow. Which makes me wonder VT, some pastors tend to avoid certain question we pose and the challenge we bring when questioning certain things within the church which we see as not correct. And instead of a response they make a sermon about you and tell you how rebellious you are. At some point Paul The Apostle rebuked Peter - the one who walked and talked with Jesus, got me thinking hard there.

Some leaders are better in a crisis because they realize what needs to be done and do it whether they are afraid or not. From my experience, leadership is about decision making. So many "leaders" are afraid of making a bad decision and end up screwing up either way.
