    THIS STORY:
    He was a tanning magnet.
Everything was perfect in his life,
He had success, he had a fortune.
They had everything they could have wanted.
But then tragedy was to strike....in multiple.

The Angel face you see is the Haserot, named “The Angel of Death Victorious". The stoic angel is seated on the marble gravestone of canning entrepreneur Francis Haserot and his family. Holding an extinguished torch upside-down, it represents a symbol of life extinguished. Wings are outstretched and the gaze is straight ahead.
IN THE END, DEATH ALWAYS WINS. LEST THE FACES NOT BE FORGOTTEN...
This channel is focused on casually walking and viewing a handful of the thousands of forgotten names and faces at various cemeteries near and afar. Seeing their faces up close. And when able, telling the stories behind their names.
Most graves are unknown and lost to history.
    Some are famous.
    And some infamous....
    ....and some with tragic endings.

Love this story. The mausoleum that he built for his family is absolutely beautiful. I feel for him losing all his family. It must have gave him some comfort to have them so close to his home. What a beautiful home but so big. I wouldn't mind living in the green house. His statue was so life like but you could see the sadness in his face.Awe😒

I feel bad for Mr. Bowman. He lost his firstborn Daughter at only 4 Months of age. And then, some years later, his other Daughter, Ella, died young as well. And then, Addie and Ella’s Mom, followed them beyond the Veil, just a year after Ella died. A lot to f tragedy in this Man’s Life. Very sad indeed. May The Bowman Family Rest In Peace.

I have to say the statue of John looks so real. His eyes actually look so real with that stare. The mausoleum looks beautiful inside. The architecture on his house is outstanding. It's sad that Addie died at 4 months and his other daughter died early on in life. Great story Ron on John Bowman and his life.

Thank God nobody has bothered this mausoleum. I had a flash back to a mausoleum atop a cliff that was desecrated and destroyed and it was a Dad who wanted a safe and beautiful place for his family to rest in peace, too. So glad there are people in this town that watch over this mausoleum and keep bad people away from it. It is also a major attaction for the town. One would have thought the people in the other story of the mausoleum atop the cliff would have also thought of the mausoleum as an attraction for people to come and pay respects. But, that wasn't the case. I pray that this one continues to be protected.

We have nothing like that here in Australia. There’s a few landmarks dotted here and there but absolutely nothing as amazing as that. There possibly may have been once but developers would have bulldozed it to make way for housing or tourist sites to cash in. I do notice those buildings were in need of some paint externally but inside it looks like a museum. I hope the community or whoever looks after the grounds might raise some money to restore the buildings to their former glory. Mr Bowman sounds like a man who really loved his family and is deserving to have his estate made pristine once again.

What a beautiful, lifelike statue of Mr. Bowman ascending the mausoleum to bring his flowers. It just gave me the chills. He was a deep feeler and that is apparent by the things left behind. I've heard of setting a place at dinner tables for those who are absent or deceased. Perhaps that gave him some comfort in the evening. I will not judge him or say he misspent his wealth on memorializing his wife and children, that was his decision and I respect that. Another late January birthday person like me, I feel a kinship with him. May they all rest in peace on earth and may they be united and whole in heaven. 🕊️

He gave work to 125 people, many skilled artisans obviously, plus sculptors who were no doubt grateful for the commissions and put their hearts into their work, plus the granite very probably came from local quarries. The tomb and mansion attract visitors who surely stop off in town to eat and patronize the local shops. Even the highway through there looks immaculate. So in the end, it was worth what was put into the project, though unfortunately it was due to tragic untimely deaths of the poor guy's whole family.

I was inside the mansion when it was an antique bookstore. The window at the top of of the stairs that you have pictured was also made of colored glass; beautiful. Upstairs in the back there was a very narrow hall into the servant quarters. I have heard local legend that if one drives by the mausoleum and glances quickly, they might see an image of a little girl near Mr. Bowman's statue. There was a novel written, inspired by the Bowman story. It was rather a frightening book. I read it in the 1980's, loaned it out and never received it back. I did not write down the author's name nor the title of the novel before it left my hands. Does anyone have any information about the novel?

Another incredible video Ron! What an amazing mausoleum, statues! He did what apparently gave him some type of comfort from the devastating grief he lived with. Built a resting place he could see from the mansion. Provide fresh flower daily. Set the table. But in the end, I'm sure, what gave him the most peace is knowing he would one day be together with his family once again.

This was so moving, wonderfully told. That beautiful and haunting music set the theme for the tragedy that befell the Bowman family, and the sadness of John as he watched the progress of the mausoleum. The statue took my breath away- so lifelike, figure of grieving, kind of creepy though. It seems like his heart was broken, but he put all his devotion into the mausoleum. The thought of dinner put out every night, for his departed loved ones- wow. Thank you Ron, great job! Rest in peace Bowman family .

I kept looking at his statue and my eyes just kept going back to his left forearm ( the one holding the wreath). I don’t know if it was some sort of optical illusion or something but that forearm looks unnaturally long from the elbow down. It is a gorgeous piece of art but I kept getting distracted by that arm. Weird. Wonderful story, as always, and such a testament of his love.

The building that you mentioned to be a garage was actually once called a "carriage house". Well to do people, especially along the East Coast, often had them For example, many can be seen in Bradley beach, New Jersey. Nowadays, they are often converted into upstairs apartments, with a garage underneath. They make excellent homes for single people, and are especially nice as mother in law apartments. The main house was usually quite large, often with three stories, Over the last twenty years or so, many new owners have taken great pains to restore them back to functionality, after having fallen into disrepair over many decades.

This is a sad story of a man who had everything and then lost all his loved ones. He must have grieved horribly after the deaths of his wife and daughters. I couldn't help but notice his statue was on the top step, as if he were approaching his own death to be buried at the mausoleum with his family, bringing them gifts of flowers. My heart breaks for him. He never got his reincarnated family. Even though he believed to the end. What a beautiful place for them to rest. The architecture of the mausoleum, mansion and outbuildings was stunning, you could tell he had money. Your appreciation of this lovely place did not go unnoticed by this viewer, as well as the slight touch of emotion as you told this sad tale. One of your best finds yet. Really loved this story.

Without Christ, there's no hope, no joy. I grew up in a very affluent suburb and I was always depressed and suicidal. Later in life I lost my 2 children, and everything I had. I hated and blamed God. It was while I was living in my car that I cried out to God and the Holy Spirit wrapped me in a cocoon of love and peace, it's absolutely indescribable what I felt and what transpired. I surrendered my life to Him and for 3 days He ministered to me. My life turned around. I may not have a lot of money, but I know joy and peace. I still grieve for my children, but the Lord helps me through the valley. I don't have "religion", I have a relationship with Jesus Christ.

I was so fascinated by the story that I couldn’t help but do a little more research I learned that Mr. Bowman‘s Tanarae supplied a good portion of the leather goods to the United States union army Mr. Bowman‘s life kind of played out against the American Civil War so his tannery was probably pretty important I also learned that Mr. Bowmans statue outside the mausoleum is carefully covered and insulated every winter to protect it that’s probably why he is in such a good state of preservation now Mr. Bowman must’ve recovered his spirits later in life because there’s mention of him having summer parties at the mansion across from the cemetery The greenhouse that he built not only provided daily flowers for the mausoleum but it also grew many shrubs and plants for the cemetery and general Mr. Bowman did a lot to restore that cemetery that particular cemetery was open to his plan of the type of mausoleum he wanted to build so he really did that cemetery itself a tremendous amount of good in later years Mr. Bowman retired to his Vermont home across from the cemetery and I believe at that time he began to live there more or less year-round his house was built with what was described as a birds nest in the middle and that is that third level that sits Squarely in the middle of the residence I learned that that was Mr. Bowman‘s office and study area I really hope this house continues to be protected and it looks like it’s in need of a scrape and paint it’s not really clear from the research that I did who owns it from the research I did it’s it said it had private owners but also the Vermont historical society has some ties to it too.

What a sad story and such a beautiful one you have given us tonight, Ron. This is a testimony of love and deepest devotion felt in families who are very close to each other. The love that both binds the heart and soul for eternity…
“10 And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come?
“11 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things.
“12 But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.
“13 Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.”
    Matthew 17:10-13, KJV.
I believe in reincarnation, as Jesus clearly said John the Baptist was Elijah. Israel did not embrace their Messiah, so in time Elijah will indeed have to return again. Reincarnated or return in another manner we shall see. But reincarnation does seem to occur when it is important and pertains to God’s plan. Others say it only means John the Baptist had the persona of Elijah, but that is not what Jesus Christ said. So, reincarnation seems to be possible. Perhaps Mr. Bowman is returned with his family to live a full life together, but they now live elsewhere together. Christ is merciful, and He understands our hearts.
Such a beautiful Victorian home and buildings in this video!
I house sat for a family once who lived in an absolutely stunning Queen Anne Victorian home. It had two towers to the front, one on each side. I went through the home and it was stunning to understand what it was I was to watch over. They do not make homes in this way anymore.
The owners had lost a young lady in the family to a car accident (I’m not sure if she was a daughter or a niece), and the wife couldn’t deal with it and had deep struggles with depression and alcohol from then on, which is so heartbreaking. She was such a wonderful and sweet lady. They also had a son who was in the military during the Vietnam war, and he had been in special ops. He couldn’t adjust back to living in a home, or close to many people. Our paths accidentally crossed at the time I house sat for his parents. I must say he had a very powerful and impacting spirit, and he was a very good man, one with much honor and respect toward others, and a deeply loving individual. Since our paths crossed he has always come to my home in the night late and sat outside our windows where he watched over us, and his presence I know for a fact kept us all safe on many occasions. For this I’m ever thankful for him and what he has been able to give.
I won’t say any names, as the sons are all still living, and there are grandchildren, etc. But I will say this family was a very strong family in their community who met with unforeseen tragedies that tore at their hearts and souls for they loved one another with a powerful love. I’m telling this because they deserve to be remembered in some way, and to also come back at some time, if the Lord tarries, to live a better life together where they all flourish to their highest potential, and for all to be healed and whole again. As I say I believe Christ is merciful, and His mercy knows no bounds. I hope this can happen especially for the Vietnam veteran. He holds a special place in my heart. His grief is heavy I’m sure, as it can be felt. He deserves so much better, just as this man Mr. Bowman and his family deserve so much more. Grief is a consuming thing, and it can overtake each of us at the most inopportune time in our lives. Remember to always hold each other tightly, and tell each other how much you love and adore each other. This will get you through the times when they slip away beyond the veil.
God bless you, Ron, and again thank you for such a powerful testament of love and life.

So lifelike of the man at the masoleum. Definitely they are all together somewhere, most likely, despite their belief in reincarnation, in heaven. Hope Vermont gets the house, green house and other bldgs. updated.

The sadness he must have felt to have done all that! And to have the dinner 🍽 set out for his wife and daughter every night 🌙 Wishing they were with him! So sad and moving. Especially when you brought them to the table Ron! Everything looked like time had stood still!
Thanks 😊 for sharing the story with us Ron! 💕

Vermont..what a beautiful state (bucket list for me). This story was sad but I am happy Mr Bowman had the means to build such an amazing resting place for his family and ultimately himself. I saw a lot of sadness in his eyes poor man. His family was his life, his impressive home was as close as he could be to them. "The greatest joy in life is to love and be loved in return" I would like to think they are all together for eternity. RIP John, Jennie, Ella and baby Addie Bowman. 💖 Loved the video. Thank You Ron. I have to say this story of the Bowman family, Mr. Bowman showing his love & devotion for his family & staying near them. It would have been amazing if you were able to go in the structures!!! I hope the state brings the house back to it's original beauty & showcase the family for their tourism industry. I really think people would go out of their way (especially if they heard your fantastic story) to visit & tour the house, greenhouse & mausoleum, I know I would!!! You really did a great job!!!!! Oh, the father would have sat at the head of the table & the wife and daughter on the side. Showing them at the table was such a cool idea!!! I figured you didn't have a picture of Mr. Bowman that could show all three of them. Thank you so very much!!!!!!

Ron...One more excellent story of the lives that have gone before us. Mr. Bowman was truly a broken-hearted man. He couldn't live the remaining years of his life far away from his family. He had to be watching over them from his, I imagine, lonely mansion. He even memorialized that sadness in his statue gazing into the crypt where his family rested. (Speaking of his statue, is it just me or does his left arm appear to be longer than it should be?) Wealth certainly doesn't protect us from the sadness that comes from seeing our loved ones pass before us and eventually joining them in the hereafter. Thank you!
