I rarely get to meet other vo s other than on UA-cam. But I did last night. I always mention your channel. I still don't get fivvr but heard it does work eventually! I miss the days the agent phoned and asked me to go to some audition and I was getting union rates. Changed days, US old timers still need to be working but the landscape is so different.

Great video Timmy! For some reason, I thought this was about the minimum you should be paid 🤣
Anyway, I've found success with just a Synco D2 and acoustic blankets in my walk-in closet 🤘 I spent about 350 for all that and at first it was good enough. I've slowly upgraded and have spent about 1000 for everything I've spent on my voice acting career so far.
The D2 is great because it doesn't pick up a lot of background noise. But sibilance is terrible. Overall great starter mic though.

Synco has some good mics but yeah you may want to find some way of cutting the high end off a bit. But over all, not a bad start.

@@FunnyGuyTimmy yeah, thankfully I have Izotope RX 😎 I highly recommend it to anyone, it's a must-have IMO

Hey there, Tim was wondering if you offer one on one VO teaching/coaching.

Yes I do. It’s $75 for 30 minutes or $100 for an hour. My email to set all that up is in the video details.

That shield is fine for singing and podcasting or you tube audio, anything else and most likely you'd be rejected. I'd add if you're using that as a stand alone place some towels around it, and make sure you put some towels at the bottom, if you're using this alone for other things place a blanket or towel behind you, and there yo go.. I see many people mention closets and I can tell you I ahev no idea what a closet look like I've never had one. Also can you if you want to, make a video on what you use to speak to directors with over the ipad and also record at the same time.

Well, I do say that you still need to treat the space and not just use the isolation shield so that was covered. Also, I do show my closet, so now you have seen one. lol And it's totally fine if you don't have one. Just make a booth in a corner.
I will look into the video suggestion. It may be an interesting idea.
