i don't agree but i see where you're coming from. i just feel like, as long as they put a ton of cosmetics, just like in Skate 3, then add microtransaction cosmetics, i don't see how it would be bad for anyone. its optional and it helps the game keep a larger player base, ex; fortnite, (kinda) warzone/cod, WOW, valorant, etc... indie games are important, and also great in most circumstances, but most people that can buy a skin in a game, can also buy an indie game, if you catch my drift. Also, to add on, most higher priced skins are bundles, or rarer skins in some games, ones that only go in the shop once for a particular reason. totally see where you're coming from though.

Weird how no one talks about Skate 2 being the best skate game. For dweeb ass nerds 3 was awesome. But for me as a 12 year old punk emo hip hop kid, skate 2 was my shit. I only at 26 started liking 3. It was just so different but controlled better. It focused more on gameplay rather than story. The story of 3 started with you getting out of jail and proceeded to be you defying the city and being the best skater. 3 is “Hey my name is Earl and welcome to skate school!! Wanna skate?? Then do it man we love skatin here yehaaaw skate” but I love all of them lmao skate 2 is just gritty. They’re all janky I’d argue 1 Is the most stable, but 3 for me loses a lot of the control. 2 feels heavy like I’m supposed to focus on skating, 3 feels light like I’m focusing on stunts. 1 just is a vibe ass game where you just go and see what happens. That being said the only one I beat is 3 because my Craigslist 2 was corrupt. 2 had the pro shit, hip hop shit, punk shit, nerd shit. 3 to me is just nerd shit. And I love em all lmao.
Sam you Shepard, nothing beats some skate and a bag full of that Bhutanese shadow grass. I was young when skate 3 came out, probably like 4. My dad was a manager at Zumiez and they used to have a little spot with a CRT tv and skate 3, my dad came over and showed me how to play, he would be doing ollies, pop shove it 180s, heel flips, It blew my 4 year old brain and later on I picked it up for myself and it gets crazy love from me. Also, skate 4 better fuckin have microtransactions so it lasts long enough for me to find a willing companion and play some skate 4 with my infant child.

@@username1660 Yeah I've never got on with Tony Hawk because the controls are so unintuitive. You're not learning tricks unless you study a strategy guide or a wikipedia page. The controls in skate make complete sense. If you know how to ollie, shove, and flip the board you can do any trick you want by just combining those movements in different ways. It's not even close.
Skate 2 had the best map not only because of iconic locations, but because it was one big map. Seamless travel from cougar mountain all the way into downtown. It was perfect.
Sam you gotta pull out the Superman Jump next time you play. Ollie into a superman up onto a ledge or box or whatever that's at a certain height and you will jump up off of the ledge/box/whatever and you can pull sick ass tricks mid air, use it to reach higher locations than you normally would be able to in a combo, and just normally freak out your friends with the Superman Jump. Park and Play's concrete barriers around the outer edges of the different floors make a great training spot. You can launch over the big open area in the center at some spots and even over it from the top floor into a lower floor with a landing ramp to absorb some impact. Coolest shit in the game.

On skate 3 I’d almost only play super ultra mega park, but I could pretty consistently do 40-50k lines in an online session but as soon as someone that was actually good at the game joined they’d drop 70k and make everyone feel bad
