Flavio has in fact been Alonso’s manager for years. So he’s both been in and around F1 and has reason to have lunch with him every once in a while. That ends my notes. Still an awesome video.
@@cyberfutur5000Funny thing about the French Government corruption with Prost is that the issue wasn't even the corruption it was the incompetence. But when Prost tried to do the same with Jacque Chirac's government it all fell apart with Chirac unable to fulfil any of his promises to Prost.
I think Flavio getting involved with Alpine F1 at this time bears similarities to when Ferdinand Piech took over Volkswagen. They were in dire straits at the time and he later said something along the lines of 'only a company in that kind of position would let someone like me in the door' . I wonder if it's the same with Flavio and Alpine.

It's Flavio. Even if his ban wasn't overturned I'm sure he could find a country that, for a 'small fee,' would declare him legally dead to get around it.
I remember when I was in Year 9 at school we were practicing summaries for a section of our English Language GCSE, in which we were given a passage and had to summarise it in 250 words. The first time we did this, the passage our teacher gave us was an article on Briatore being banned in the wake of Crashgate. Of course, I knew exactly what the article was about, and some of my classmates were quite surprised when I told them that it had actually happened!
Wolff is and has been Ocon’s manager since he entered F1. It’s why everyone expected him to be raised to the Merc second seat for a few seasons. But you’re right about Flavio being Alonso’s omanager. I like to think Alonso has cleaned his act up quite a lot since 2007 at McLaren and then crashgate, then I’m reminded that Flavio has been his manager the whole time. He certainly acts far more mature than he used to. It’s why I’ll always be a Lewis fan, he always takes wins and losses like a champ. Imagine Verstappen giving the same congratulations to Hamilton had the roles been reversed at Abu Dhabi ‘21. Lewis is one of the few drivers I’d say who even had a chance of taking the highroad after that champ robbery.
Putting all the red flags aside, the man is genuinely very smart and keen ! Also this is the perfect topic that people never think about ! unique and useful, very nice !
Very good video! Flavio to Alpine. hmm... I don't know how to say this, but It seems like they try to do what other teams (more or less successfully) did with hiring Nicki Lauda, but in a way that someone could be mixing cyanide with nitro glycerin and call it a gin tonic. You know? I get where they come from and what their idea is, but they are using slightly the wrong ingredients if your goal isn't to explode in a toxic environment. But sweet lord, I'm looking forward to watch the chaos. :D
I can't really understand how the court could lift the ban just because it was told him "too late" or without enough time to bring his defense. Other people in sports, especially Snooker, get banned life time recently and also know they f*cked it up, without having tons of time to say their defense. I dislike Briatore really....
and there you have it, reasons why F1 is falling out of favor with me, I relish the technical side of the sport and not the circus that surrounds it (though admittedly that side id hilariously entertaining!). And Sprint races? Yeah, not a fan of those either. Will be interesting to see what happens with FB back in.

Briatore has made several genius decisions in his career. The problem is that he honed his managerial skills by burning Benetton's family money and mafia money. Plus a sprinkle of cheating. He should have been in jail for several years now but sadly people like drama.
Im sure hiring a known cheat and fraudster is going to shore up investor confidence amidst all this intrateam chaos! Well done Alpine F1 team, what a masterful gambit!

Pierre Gasly approves
15s penalty for Ocon for getting replaced by Flavio

for a little bit until he was unbanned, he technically wasn’t. i think he did it via a third party tho.
Flavio being there to help sell the team is an interesting idea. He did manage the Ligier sale.
he's done a lot of buying and selling in F1. He also managed Supertec for several years which was an engine supplier to several teams
The disastrous one to Prost, with all the french government corruption and scandals, that Ligier sale? :D Well at least then he as at the right team.
