- In this cloudy day city walk in West Germany, I will take you on a video tour of Aachen city. Aachen developed from a Roman settlement and spa, subsequently becoming the preferred medieval Imperial residence of Charlemagne, and, from 936 to 1531, the place where 31 Holy Roman Emperors were crowned Kings of the Germans. Aachen is the westernmost city in Germany, located near the borders with Belgium and the Netherlands, 61km west south west of Cologne in a former coal-mining area. One of Germany's leading institutes of higher education in technology, the RWTH Aachen University, is located in the city. This is another West Germany city walk where I am exploring the city-center in a compact form. I hope you can relax and enjoy this walk.

Im from Kuwait 🇰🇼, this was the city me and my family used to go to a lot back when I was 10 up to when I turned 15...Made many good memories there and the best one was being there when Germany won the 2014 world cup...amazing. Sure, at first glance this looks like an ordinary city but trust me its a must go to place if your into relaxing and better yet seeing old era german architecture like the churches and such. Amazing place.

Cycling in Aachen is good! Our mayor is from the German Green Party, and after she was elected we have many more bike lanes and bike streets.
I lived in Aachen before and it's so nice and peaceful I would definitely want to go back to those days

I am from Aachen, so I am probably biased but I think there aren’t a lot of cities more scenic than Aachen! Thankfully you didn‘t show the Central Bus Station or Rothe Erde though Hahahaha. You definitely should come during the Christmas Market (or not if you don‘t like crowds). Aachen Christmas Market is known to be one of the best in Germany, and therefore is pretty popular, sometimes even Travel Groups from England or Spain come, so it‘s very full, especially at night. The whole atmosphere is amazing though.
