Juno, like lucio, is ACTUALLY a support and not a kill confirm/burst dps in disguise. She has util that makes her hard to kill, some guaranteed damage/heal given good positioning, and a decent primary fire for emergency self defense or all in opportunities. She makes her entire team more viable when used well rather than putting the team on her back *cough cough* kiri and (release) illari
I wouldn’t mind a support design philosophy like Lucio and Juno. Mercy also falls into “actual support” in that she in the far extreme of that idea. Unfortunately, if we do have more heroes like this, we might have growing pains with them. People are already complaining about Juno not being impactful enough (even though she is) because everyone expects support to lowkey be the back bone of the team and not a support (and these are the same people complaining about DPS supports). I have hope though as Lifewever I classify as a more support driven character. He’s been clowned on ever since he release and only recently has people warmed up to him. I hope the same happens for Juno. That she’s allowed to have her role and not get buffed into a DPS support.
Dude I would LOVE to have this tank as a support. So much breathing room and you can trust them to get picks/come back and play cover so you can get them up. I’m sure they had an amazing time this game especially in that OT this tank was great aside from some bubbles
Yeah, anyone who says Juno is bad right now is either playing her all wrong or just ends up with a Juno on their team who's playing her wrong. If folks aren't using her speed and movement abilities to just be straight up annoying they're doing it wrong. And Mauga is still very viable, just depends on the situation. Playing him into a Winston or Hog are fine, especially the latter. You're gonna force Hog to play cover or just drain their self-heal, and you can do it from a distance too because holy cow folks still don't realize Mauga has 30m of effective range when firing one gun. Set piggy on fire and then just crit damage all over that giant hitbox? He's gonna have a bad day.
No support is bad atm in regards to their kit. The problem is supports are currently being ranked based off how easy they are to dive because of the current meta, so LW and Zen are considered bad supports not because of their kit but because they can easily be picked off and destroyed by a sombra/reaper. Compared to other supports that can heal themselves and therefore harder to kill (kiriko, moira, baptise, Ana).
I had this Ball Player WHO was throwing but he said he didn't get heal🙄 He is a freaking ball diving hard backline. There is no heal coming his way and he should know🤦🏾♂️ but he blamed his support! I told him to shut up! In the end we lost that game. I avoided him but funny enough I played against him next game and he got rolled completely.🤣 I knew he was gonna dive hard so I told my te to be ready to trade backline! In the end he might have killed me but he lost his whole team mates🤣 This toxic guy even t-bagging me is going back with half His health and getting destroyed by my team! His team didn't even get first point bc he NEVER PROTECTED HIS MATES WITH DM!
Good ball knows that they are not getting help in the backline unless there’s long sightlines or they come back for heals. I’ve had some lovely ball players who made the game super easy for me but the biggest difference is that they always roll away when they’re super low, grab a pack, then come back up to highground and get healed up and head back in. Ball can’t stay in the backline the entire time and anyone who thinks they’re going to stay alive in a 1v5 for the entire game without their team getting annoyed and melting them is nuts
@@spindless Whenever i see a ball in my team i eat my pride and go Sombra, i hate sombra from the bottom of my heart but she's a very good "support" for ball by hacking healthpacks for him in the enemy backline, and also to distract enemies who are chasing ball when he's low health and retreating

Ball gave no f’s and whooped them still 😭 it’s about resource management, he used his shields at the right times and honestly just ignored Sombra most of the time bc she can’t do enough damage without needing to reload a FEW times to really bother him that much

I dont understand why people are complaining about Juno rn. The last game I played with her in just a quick play I had like 18 kills, 2 deaths and 8k healing (all of which were the highest stats of all the supports). Shes wonderful! Super easy to run away from flanks/kill flankers, super easy to heal, super easy to dmg and accidentally heal, speedboosts to help teammates get to the fight quicker, whats not to love? Are people just using her wrong? How is that even possible? She's so easy 😅
She’s the first hero I picked up and felt 100% comfortable with. She’s so balanced and so easy to use. Great escapability from flanks/backline dives and good control. She’s quickly become my favorite
I've been playing a ton of juno recently and I can usually avoid most dives, however I always get completely destroyed by sombras and I feel like it's just because I suck but at the same time I'm not sure if there's anything I could do differently? Like I try to play close to the team but I can only play so close before I'm right in the middle of the teamfight.
This dive meta feels so shit in low ranks. Tanks keep complaining about heals but nobody peels for support. I’ll dive to save the tank but they won’t peel to help me even though I keep getting enemy Sombra to one. If the tank or dps would peel maybe they would get those heals they need.
In OW2 right now Tanks can't be doing too much peeling for backline, unfortunately. It's a combination of the 5v5 format removing off tanks that did the bulk of this in OW1, and the current way heroes are tweaked (without going into too much detail). Sometimes it's the wrong play to pull focus from the frontline/diving the enemy to instead "overpeel" for your supports/dps, because when you turn around as Tank the flanking enemy creates a window of opportunity for their team to dismantle yours because everyone is turning to deal with the flanker. Enemy now can push up and get a pick or two and it snowballs fast to a team kill. This is baked into the way Blizz have buffed Supports to be able to self-sustain (and sustain each other) and secure kills on their own, while Tanks in OW2 have to create space and pull focus/enemy fire. Sure, Tanks need to be aware and threat assess to peel occasionally and play WITH their team, know when to fall back, but Dva now in OW2 should not for example, be peeling as much as Dva would have in OW1, so you can't get mad at that sometimes. Emongg's talked about "overpeeling" in other spectate videos, if you wanna have a look. If you're on support try swapping to someone who can deal with flankers better, Moira or Ana etc., and work on positioning/angles to enable Tank plays + stay safe behind cover/high ground etc.

The dps and the other support have the same problem but nobody seems to even watch for the flanker but me so im the one that has to deal with it or just watch the team get rolled edit: also peeling in my rank just mean look behind you and pay attention to what you team is doing. Tanks just w keys without paying attention to team position, los, their own health bar, or their own cooldowns.
@@ThorDog16 Unfortunately in low ranks you gotta just take a look at yourself and see what you can do to play WITH unfortunate teammates, cause you're the only common denominator in your ranked games, and that will climb you out of your rank. Watch one of Emongg's streams where he plays ranked, you'll realise that even in T500 you can get throwers, leavers, no one in VC/communicating, people being rude, flamers, cheaters etc - and this is the top % of Overwatch. Of course metal ranks are gonna be a crapshoot, but you gotta do your best with whatever hand the matchmaker deals you. But Emongg always goes into it with a positive and "what can I do to enable this (feeding Hog) on my end?" attitude, which is how he climbs, even on roles where he's been reset to Diamond or Plat lol. Watch some of the support Bronze Spectates, maybe, and watch KarQ. Supports in low ranks need to make a lot of plays themselves to win. You can't just sit back and healbot if your DPS or tank aren't making plays and everyone is passive. In these ranks sometimes you gotta just W key with your tank if they're holding close, or take an angle where you can maybe get a pick with an escape route back to team. You also need to learn when to abandon a teammate and regroup, the value of a support surviving/taking cover & angles, and when to die on cart for a group respawn. All of it takes time/practice. And yeah, it's demoralising to see your tank hard feeding, but sometimes you gotta see if it's a salvageable situation, and you can push objective with the space they made. Try to be nice to the tank in VC or text who may not realise how hard they're pressing W, and do your best, but there's always next game. Play QP too, it's sweaty af nowadays so it's good practice lol
Don't you ever drop a bubble that isn't breaking a healer's line of sight in front of Emongg. You could have 30HP face tanking a reaper that drains your piddly lightning damage back in one shot to your big stupid face and he's like "That bubble wasn't necessary. Wasted bubble economy." He was explaining that he can't get top 500s to shoot at bubbles and he's got the play paused on a nearly broken bubble.
Difference here is the frontline bubbles got shredded when no one was even in danger, so it didn't matter cause his team wasnt even in los. Like on the highground second point or under the archway on first when cart provided cover. Meanwhile the bubbles emongg is talking about are to separate and to isolate targets. Like you can bubble to protect yourself and to prevent peel because Winston is a dive tank. Do some Frontline bubbles work? Yea, but really you should be using them to dive or to push and get a kill and to get your jump back so you can retreat safely. It would be like watching a kiri using their cleanse to heal and then your team gets shattered and they dont have cleanse. Were you getting value from your cooldown? Well yea, but not all value is good value and sometimes you need to save cooldowns like bubble for antis, hooks, etc. you bubble in a 1v1 against a dva and theyre just going to leave and push you again in a bit lol
So.. they're giving tank players a break by putting all the pressure on the backline...?😅 So now support need to deal with all the flankers, Reaper, and a diving Dva or a Hog that plays DBD, while being flamed by their team for not pocketing or healing because we're.. dead.. love it😅 Meanwhile tank is enemy spawn fighting ghosts and DPS is spamming X for healing 😂 At least that's been my experience so far on support in season 12🙈
Tank players are not 'getting a break' - they're slightly less miserable. I play all three roles, but I literally won't even touch tank if I'm not in at least a three-stack because it is still the least fun, most frustrating, absolutely awful experience. Tanks being more powerful (and they are) does not mean they are meaningfully more fun (and they're not). Blizz cannot get beyond the idea of "Well, what if we change **these numbers**? Did that fix it?" and until they do, tank will continue to be miserable and soul crushing.

They will never be rid of tank busting without changing so many things and erasing so many hero identities. Adding back player 6 would help. In 2-2-2 role lock, you have a second tank to help. In open queue, having 5 teammates increases the odds of one coming by to win the fight with the tank buster. Also, the better tank busters are McCree, Torb, Symm, even someone like Sombra. They all either have abilities that shut down a tank, or have extra damage in the form of deployables.
It depends on how it is used and who uses it. 90% it's been used by toxic people in my experience. It's different if you already had rapport and everyone is on friendly terms or you guys are friends before the match. SO many times tho people use it as a dig so it's really hard to tell the difference. It's in the same vein of teabagging. Many people think teabagging is toxic but without knowing the intent of the teabag it's hard.

It depends on how it is used and who uses it. 90% it's been used by toxic people in my experience. It's different if you already had rapport and everyone is on friendly terms or you guys are friends before the match. SO many times tho people use it as a dig so it's really hard to tell the difference. It's in the same vein of teabagging. Many people think teabagging is toxic but without knowing the intent of the teabag it's hard.
The type of person who doesn't see it as toxic is the person who uses it toxically
