The baba yaga is a slavic/old russian folklore crone lookin' witch. She is most noticable for her house which resides on chicken legs and her desire to eat people, possessing iron teeth, but is skinny as a rail, no matter how much she eats. The song heard in that level was "Peter and the Wolf Op. 67".
The song in the previous one is my favorite classical song, "Danse Macabre", translated, "The Dance of Death", which actually was written to tell a story of how the reaper plays a violin in a graveyard and brings the dead back alive so they can all dance together and enjoy themselves until the rooster crows, signifying the morning and that the dead must be put to rest once more.
I really like Rock of Ages because, although I might not get every reference, the ones I do are really clever. The developers put a LOT of time and thought into this game and it's evident by those little easter eggs.
Danse Macabre is my favorite song of any genre, but I didn't know about the history of it. That's really cool!
Thank you!! If you listen to it now with that in mind, you can hear the certain sections. Death on his violin solo in the beginning, the increasing accompaniment signifying the dead come to join him, the crow of the rooster (I think it's an oboe), and then the crowd fading away, death alone, and silence.
ALSO FORGOT TO NOTE! Peter and the Wolf was composed by Sergei Prokofiev, a russian composer, aimed at children in soviet russia. The story is cute, but knowing it's communist propoganda is really historically interesting.
Another cool bit about Baba Yaga is the fact that unlike most depictions of witches who fly on brooms, she rows around in a giant grinding mortal using a pestle as a paddle.
Mhm! The mortar and pestle is always hilarious to me. Just look at her go, rowin' away. XD
FINALY I have lived my childhood (I'm 11) thinking Baba Yaga means old granny my father is polish and my mother is Slavic and they never really told me what it meant for whatever reason and I'm happy because it's people like you who take time out of their day ( night when this comment was written)to write these amazing and interesting facts and rock of ages is the best game ever....if I have a history test I'm definitely playing this game
I think that instead of clicking to place down towers, you can hold it down to make a wall inbetween two towers as seen in 6:00 (like so jack can see this!)

Hercules had to pick a golden apple for one of his 12 labors, but only gods can pick the apples. So he agreed to hold the world for Atlas while Atlas picked the apples for him. Atlas decided to try and run away so he didn't have to carry the world anymore, but Hercules tricked him into holding it again, and got away with the apple.

@@pankakaes1534 guess what, THEY DID, AND I HAVE IT ON SWITCH! It’s a great game, I HIGHLY recommend it. some of the mechanics got a bit jankier and if there’s too many explosions, the game can go down to 19 fps, so get it on PC if u have a good computer

If I'm not mistaken, Herakles was his original name and is what the Greeks called him. Hercules is what the Romans called him. I could be wrong so don't quote me lol
