‘Days of 49’ Great photography accompanies O’l Tom Moore’s recollections’. For me this rendition reflects the spirit of his dirge. ‘In the days of old in the days of gold I often will repine, Oh the days old when we dug up the gold in the ‘Days of 49’, “Of all the comrades that I had there’s none left here to boast, I’m left alone in my misery like some old wanderin ghost I wanders around from town to town like some wanderin sign, All the people say, “There goes O’l Tom Moore in ‘Days of 49’”, ‘In the days of old in the days of gold I often do repine, “Oh the days of old when we dug up the gold in the ‘Days of 49’”…
Lost In a bitter cold a man was old On he strolled looking for lost gold He was bold his mind was controlled Told in the Klondike gold did it hold He fit a mold an gold he did behold
I don't know who will read this because there are a lot of old posts but man you sing the song with more feeling and a depth to it then Dylan ever could
dylan is going for a totally different interpretation, no need to compare, and to be fair this guy's voice is good, but the dramatic delivery is a bit forced to my ears, still good tho, it'll probably grow on me with time
@@shcxatter2 OK, so either you are a kid with no life,or an adult with no life. All you're doing is trying to get attention from anyone. I've answered you once, you are now harnessing me.
Ah now, I have learned some things here. I thought this was Dylan's song and no one could sing it better. And........ First off, it turns out it actually does date from before 1860 (Logan English recordedf it in 1957). It really is a folk song. And whilst this lad Kyle Thompson maybe doesn't sing it better than Dylan, he does sing it every bit as well - just differently. More sort of authentically, closer to the original sound probably.
Just one "From The Fields" a collection of Civil War songs I recorded on the battlefields. I have ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) and my ability to play and sing is compromised as a result...but I keep pluggin along as I can.
+Rick Fortner Hey Rick! :) I'm hangin in there, for what that's worth. Still working on tunes here and there as my health will allow. I appreciate the thought! Best to you...
This is the most beautiful version of this most beautiful song. Thank you so much dear Kyle, I wish you all the best. God bless you.
Wow,the best version I have ever heard, what a great voice
