@@mrenlightened oh yes i did but man sorry was 2 years ago don't remember exactly. Most likely one can use some buttons combination with gaia, don't know which atm. The information is out there tho, maybe write Vinshine an email
@@entity279 Thanks for the tip - I found this "Hermes / Gaia DDC: Press Setup button once, thereafter, press USB button twice' to get into firmware mode.
Thanks for the video, but asking customer without knowledge of electronics to open the unit is a bit... extreme... :-) I need to install 3.14 firmware to enable balance control... wish me luck...
So is the update procedure for the Iris the same as for the DACs (Pontus II) under Windows - "USB MCU FIRMWARE UPDATE · Windows" where you disable driver signature enforcement and so on? Is it the same download that is used for both DACS and DCCs so if I've already downloaded it for my Pontus I can then use it for my Iris?
Do you know if ARES2 DAC can also be upgraded using a mac like here? because mine really needs an upgrade, stock FW version fails a lot on the mac, and it was not the last version. THANKS VIN!!
The procedure worked like a charm for the Gaia. Thanks Alvin.
how did you set the Gaia for firmware update mode? I couln't find any reference anywhere 😒
Glad you enjoy it!
@@entity279 Did you figure out how to do this for GAIA? I am in the same situation and I don't see any switch inside the GAIA.

Is there a sound quality upgrade for the IRIS?
Hi sir, we highly recommend to update the USB MCU Firmware :)
@@VinshineAudio I actually did, after I posted that comment. There is DEFINITELY an increase in sound quality!! :D
Alvin, do this firmware update has an effect to i2s output terminal?
Hi Allan, the USB firmware update doesn't have an effect to the i2s output.
Can you update from a iphone? Thanks..
No sir, firmware update can only be down on a Mac/Win computer
