- Driving the Columbia River Gorge on I-84 is very scenic. This drive is heading west from The Dalles, Oregon to Troutdale, Oregon. This route is 69.8 miles (112.3 km) and goes from dry grass covered mountains to wet tree covered mountains. The road follows the Columbia River the entire way. This allows you to see many of the Hydro Electric Plants that are on the Columbia River.
This was filmed using the time-lapse feature on the GoPro Session 5.

confused ...me that is. When we drove to the Mayo Clinic from Detroit we passed the "The Dalles of the St. Croix River' in Wisconsin. So "The Dalles" in this case is: The Dalles is the county seat and largest city of Wasco County, Oregon, United States. The population was 13,620 at the 2010 census, and is the largest city on the Oregon side along the Columbia River outside the Portland Metropolitan area. See just proves one learns something in every vlog. So this is not that far from Victoria BC. Barbara drove to a Foreigner concert in Portland two weeks ago and then took a sightseeing flight up the Columbia gorge. I suspect she flew right over this area. Lovely views in your vlog ...thanks. This is quite the jump from the Metro of Kiev to Oregon and your exploration of the west. Are you back in the US for good?
So does this mean you're back in the USA or were just visiting? I love the Columbia river gorge and I need to hike it and explore it more in the future. Looks like a beautiful drive.
We are back in the U.S.. We lived in the Ukraine for 2 years. :) I love the Columbia Gorge Area. I wish we could stay for longer... unfortunately this is just a quick trip and we will be headed back to Colorado.
