Laban that board is now an older prototype, the DNA of which is most like the new SIC Maui (2019) Slice series. Check it out at sicmaui.com

I tilt my board but it still goes in a straight line. What can I do?

+bpunlimited are you stepping back to the tail of the board before you put the board on rail? If you put the board on rail (tilt board as you say) and you don't have your feet back at the tail of the board your board will not turn, instead it will go straight while you typically will fall off the side of the board. Hope this helps

Sorry guys but why explain it in such a difficult way? You assume that people who can't do a bottom turn know what rails are and what a pocket of a wave is. Just tell them to step more to the tail with their back foot and that pressure on the toe's or heel (back foot) tell's you where you are going. Oh and they have to put their back foot after they finished the bottom turn more upfront, otherwise they'll brake and eventually wipeout....
Ah why bother i told them already ;-) Anyhow this is how it works for me.

Hi Daan, thanks for your feedback. Our goal is certainly to 'keep it simple' while also explaining details and nuance. There is certainly some assumed knowledge in this video as you mention, such as 'rails' and 'pocket', which I agree probably should be defined. We attempted to break it down with a few key concepts - I. Wait to initiate turn out in front of the wave, and II. Ideally set-up the turn to end up back in the pocket. The key points to then perform a bottom turn are 1) step back to the tail, 2) put pressure on either toes or heel depending on which way you're turning, with more pressure on back foot for a more aggressive turn, (Nuance: move feet to rail of board for more leverage since SUP's are wide) 3) As you finish bottom turn legs will straighten as you head back up the face for your next move.
