You guys should incorporate a silencing mechanic. Like maybe if the killer puts their left hand on the victim's shoulder prior to the stabbing its as if they get muffled before stabbed so Sam can't do the thing where he yells post death and ruins D's plan from the grave.

Tbh what is typing in the comments going to do so what if you want to bring realism into this a knife wouldn't always kill you with one stab in fact if it did you'd die of blood loss which would take many minutes or an hour (maybe longer depending) and screaming after you've been stabbed is quite possible. If you want to speak about game rules D is the only one who can complain and unless he expresses how he thinks this is unfair then there isn't a problem.

They’re imitating a game in which the knife kills instantly with no sound (except the body dropping). No one yells when they die except for same (or at least not as much). It’s more fun when everyone doesn’t instantly know who you are on your first kill.

Brandon is a really good murderer, like he had the perfect opportunity to kill Jake in the start when they where both upstairs looking for bands, and he didn’t take it. He knew that that was the perfect moment but Jake knew it to, so seeing Brandon reject makes him less conspicuous which is genius.
