Had friends working at the grand hotel in Eastbourne while the tennis was at Devonshire place. All the players stayed there. Staff said Sharapova was lovely but com0letely scorned by the other players jealous of her fame and looks.
Many are wired differently to her and are able to leave their friendships off the court. I guess she might also feel negatively towards a friend who beat her so she doesn't want to introduce that kind of emotion.
