- In this episode we are fly fishing Montana's Clark Canyon Reservoir near Dillon Montana using wet flies, such as woolly buggers, to catch and release very large rainbow trout. We also spend part of a day at Poindexter Slough using streamers and wet flies to catch and release some nice Browns. It is an incredibly cold, cloudy afternoon in early April and the ice is just coming off. I hope you enjoy this episode.

Fly Fishing with Ladin's primary purpose is to share fly fishing techniques and places to fly fish in the Western United States. We are a dedicated fly fishing UA-cam channel promoting catch and release fly fishing. Our motto is having fun catching and releasing fish. We want to share our passion with others. We are not professionals. We are passionate about fly fishing but we do not take ourselves to seriously. We show our mistakes, falling in, getting flies stuck in wrong places, loosing fish. The same things that all of us experience fly fishing. We have been fly fishing northwest waters for over forty years. But we are always learning new things that we like to pass along. We think our channel is a great place to get ideas for fly fishing vacations and weekend trips.
Thank you ❤
Haha great video that fly retrieval method of yours is a little sketchy not sure if I'm going to try that next time I'm out on the water! I'm not sure if I just missed him but it's good to see Steve back out there with you!!👍
Great video. Would say the fish (and the fishing) rival the Blackfoot Res lakes? ... not as good as the Res? ... better than the Res?
Good question. I think it is kind of in the middle of the Res lakes. Better than some but not as good as others. We have not fished it from a boat so just a bit hard to compare. Overall I would go to the Blackfeet nation lakes if I have time to spend a few days and try a few different lakes. Also the scenery is way better.
Nice video guys. What year was this?
I think 2017
Is the area you fished on the Slough private or are there public access to it?
It was all public
