That’s true but with light loads it might not drop. My 08 Silverado 1500 with a towing package handled a Polaris rzr 4 seater and trailer like nothing. It dropped not even an inch
Great lesson, complete and to the point with usable graphics. Thank you. I changed trucks and could see that it wasn't right but did not know how to adjust it. Now I do.
Good info. But I needed a rise but when I measured like I was shown on video it told me I needed a drop of 2 inches. I need a rise to level camper and truck. Video does not take in the consideration of the weight of camper when put on hitch. Measurements are good if there is no trailer weight
Wait...... what if the weight on the trailer brings down those measurements? I have a heavy boat , shouldn't I try and make it level after the load is on?
Yes compensate foe the sag you will get from tongue weight - 200-500 pounds makes a difference! Have someone stand on your vehicles hitch that is close to your trailers factory tongue weight and add in that sag.
Hello great video. Can tell if this will stop Jack knives. I have damaged two bumpers on my 2020 Jeep wrangler. I have been towing for many years due to being a landscaper. I have such a difficult time since I got my new Jeep. Should this help with my issue?Thank you for any help.
Sizes should work together but feel free to call us or live chat with one of our specialist right on our website to go over your vehicle information before ordering.
Ok so what if the two numbers are almost exactly the same? My class A receiver measures 16" from ground to inside top of 2" reciever port. My tow dolly, at level, measures 16" to bottom of cup.....
You could try to couple the two on an inclined plane like a driveway to see if you can split the difference. Just make sure everything handles correctly when coupled.
Simple and to the point. Not like so many others who overcomplicate things to try and sell their products. Thanks!! 👍🏽👍🏽
Yep. Short and to the point.
7 years later and your video is still helping people. Thanks!!
Exactly the information I needed. No more, no less.
You didn’t account for how much the truck will lower once hooked to the trailer. You should hook the trailer up before taking the receiver measurement

This was great. Thanks for the useful info. Been looking to buy a new hitch and now I know what I need to look for.
Simple, quick and to the point explanation...
I'm about to purchase my first trailer and I want to do things right the first time. Thank you so much for this educational video 👍
Quick and direct information, w/ no filler. Thanks for the answer and algebraic equation.

4" drop for me....thanks for easy instructions :)
It cannot be clearer, Thanks !
What happens when the suspension on the tow vehicle sags from the tongue weight applied by the trailer?
Exactly...!!!!
Your trailer load is balanced evenly front to back? :)
Then you need to even put your tongue weight, your tongue weight is too heavy
You need to compensate for the sag. These videos don't mention that issue and it's a problem.

Very helpful. Thanks.
Thank You Very Clear Video,New Subscriber
Perfect! Thanks!
Gotta consider trailer tongue weight and suspension sag too.
Good info. Thanks.
do you also have a video that talks about the sizes of both pieces? Will all sizes work together, or how does that work?

Ok thank you
But that doesn’t count for weight drop and ball grind .
