For shashlyks remember, if the sqwers are wooden, before putting meat/veggies on them, the night before put them in to beer/water/same marinate as the meat.
"We are going to try to make this shorter" the classic podcast problem of the episodes going super long no matter how hard you try. Signs of good podcast hosts
pretty sure this is why groups like mega64 just do an aftershow, though they also stream their recording live. They usually have a soft cutoff time where the normal podcast ends and goes up on their main youtube and then usually keep the stream going and upload the rest to their second channel.
Many mountains are called something-yama (山 yama is 'peak') like Kunimi-yama, but some mountains use the chinese word zan (but still written as 山 yama), because it was in a lot of chienese literature. With time mow it's pronounce as san, so fuji-san isn't Mr Fuji, but Mount Fuji. Same as Ontake-san, for mount Ontake But some are called date or dake like Kita-dake, but that's for a range of mountains. In France, we used to call Fuji-san as "Mount FujiYama" (mount mount fuji and wrong pronunciation of 山) because we read it literally but missed the meaning...
@@MMSummerSpecial I desire that for you both as a matter of the utmost urgency. Also, something something lobster, etc. 🤣🤣🤣 Subtlety, you'll notice has always been my greatest strength.
You simply are the best lobsters to listen to at work mint and matara. Thank you for keeping me company. This one was kind of picture heavy but overall I enjoy listening to you too banter.
This will probably get lost in all the comments, but I just wanted to say, as a huge fan of monster trucks, I can confirm there actually are monster truck shows in Canada, maybe not as many as here in the US but they do have them, if I remember right they did a pretty big one in Quebec, made me smile hearing you two talk about that since I have been a fan of those since I was a kid
Aw I think it's cute that even though Mint doesn't have a varied pallet she still tries different types of food, or at least gives it a chance. And it's awesome that Matara loves cajun seafood boil!!! You know even though i also love crawfish, shrimp, crab, etc, I've never tried lobster. it's actually pretty cheap at the grocery store lately. I made a list but it's kinda personal but I printed it out for fun. Thanks for the cute template, it really makes me happy to look at it.
Didja Know That Larry The Lobster is also voiced by the same Voice as Plankton? TRUE FACTS! 🦞 But real talk this was a FUN Mint & Matara Episode & really has me excited to make a list of things I wanna do over The Summer as well 💚🤍👻🪳
As one of my goals, I considered finally assembling and painting the tyranids I have, and maybe painting them as a lobster color, but I've decided to finish up my Space Marines first instead.
1:24:00 What the girls are describing, even without the language to encapsulate it, is the loss of 'third spaces'. As in, places that are neither Residential, nor Industrial / Commercial. You'll note the RCI thing that inspires SimCity doesn't have a metric for that third space, but it's things that you can go to with other people that do not primarily involve spending or earning money. Parks, arcades where it's like a quarter to play, spaces like that where you can just walk. Or chill out somewhere.
I've been clawing my way through these episodes like a lobster, after seeing you two at OffKai, and I'm proud to say that your content has led me to my very first Patreon subscription! I'm a little disappointed that I'm missing out on some previous bonuses, but I at least look forward to the future ones! HAGS!!!
My sister and I acted together at a Murder Mystery Cafe when we were in college. It was honestly a blast, especially seeing all the suspects (customers) having fun, too. Funny enough, the lobster was one of the most popular dishes, since it was an evening cafe.
Another good podcast episode! Wish I had tuned in sooner, I would have done the summer list too! Honestly, one of my favorite things is listening to these over dinner, like lobster and fine wine. Really classes up the meal.
Thank you for the postcast Mint, Matara!!! I've been so busy and everything and I keep repeating middle part of the podcast like three or four time but yeah. I just had super late lobster delivery today, i gonna eat it with mint next week!
All the talks of marathons and such sounds so grueling. I've been doing military/reservist march practice a little bit recently, like a 25km walk with 15kg backpack, and those are really fun. Not running out of breath, can just keep moving, very little effort, just takes like 5 hours to do. Next week I'll be trying to accumulate 40+km over 4 days, without weights though, or at best a lobster in a backpack.
From someone who's been to both I say skip the monster trucks and find a demolition derby in some rural town. I thought monster jam got a bit stale, like you see everything they've got in an hour or so but it keeps going. Demolition derbies tho are WILD, there's so much destruction and something's almost certainly going to catch fire, it's a blast.
I also need to build my Metal Gear Ray! I bought it years ago, opened it up, looked at it, and put it back in the box. I've moved since, and actually need to find it now. Lol
I make ice cream at home with salt too when I run out of store bought lol! Although the method I use has two bags, one small bag with milk and flavor, and a bigger bag with ice and salt, so the salt doesn't get mixed into the ice cream.
I don't know if they have this in Canada but I like grilling County Style Rib and Bratwurst. Come to Busch Gardens can see animals then go on Rollercoaster. One of my coworkers paints Warhammer figures at work during the night shift. You add the salt to the ice not the ice cream mix. Red Lobster coconut shrimp is really good.
I think the beauty of a lobster really shines when you're up up and Beyond when it comes to the concerns of real life it'll just goes away the frustration of the daily struggles such wonderful Beast.
My favorite animal is crabs and one of my fun todo things for the summer is go to a beach and find some. Although not my favorite, lobsters are a pretty cool animal too
What an amazing episode with Mint and Matara sharing some awesome summer lists full of fun activities and food. I remember one time on the beach somebody went under a dock and there they saw a rock. It wasn't a rock. It was a Rock Lobster. Rock Lobster Rock Lobster Rock Lobster
recently they've been selling baja blast in stores just before and during summer so you may be able to get one during the summer at a gas station. Also Red lobster cheddar biscuits are available in Sam's club to buy and bake. hopefully still at the time anyone reads this because they change crap out all the time.
ty for another round of throwbacks and tangents and YIPPEE to all the wonderful things ahead for this summer! best of luck to both mint and tara on seeing their bucket lists through ^-^ wishing our favorite hags an awesome road trip in between all the traveling, carwash fun and all!! sad to know we're already 1/5 of the way through the special _BUT_ i'm super excited to make the most of all these summer vacay memories with everymomo and wisps 🥹🫶 so until september! also secret QOTD HW: one of the reasons i love Mintara Mondays sm is bc in btwn all the bickering and fun, we know that these two are each other's platonic lobsters. 😊💚🤍 (god i hope i'm not too old for ppl to not know this reference anymore XD)
I've had the cheddar biscuits at Red Lobster and they are quite good. Do try them if you get the chance. So many other things you mentioned are available around here at various times. From monster truck jams, Oktober Fest (one of the larger ones in the US from what I hear), outdoor rock concerts, good BBQ, renaissance faire (from prior episode). We do have an anime convention in the summer; but I'm sure it would be to small to catch your attention. If you do go to a monster truck jam; do bring hearing protection such as ear plugs or ear muffs.
HOW COULD YOU GUYS END ONE DAY BEFORE MY BIRTHDAY AAAAAAAAAAA I will enjoy this until the last second, thank you guys for all the hard work LOOKING FORWARD TO 20 EPISODES YAAAAAAY🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you for another fun podcast episode!! I'd love to see you two actually build Metal Gear Rex and Ray or pic of completed model builds! Both Rex and Ray got such a good designs, but I really love Ray the most mainly bc its got tail and its wings are almost looking like lobster claws😆 Hope both of you have a good day Mint and Matara!!
omg, when you guys started talking about BBQ I paused to wallow in memories of shashlik, and when I unpaused Matara immediately brought up shashlik and I lost it.
I am usually a lurker but I got to thank you. you two made my day after hearing about the gamer couple topic banter. Will enjoy the weekly podcast while it lasts ♥
Lobsters are usually caught in an underwater trap called a “lobster pot,” baited with dead fish. Lobsters usually feed on bottom dwellers like clams, snails, and crabs. Lobsters live in the murk and mud at the bottom of the ocean. Lobsters can grow up to four feet long and weigh as much as 40 pounds.
9:20 now you have my attention. Whisperseat gaming, the new backseat gaming. You mention murder mysteries and there is a series perfect for y'all called Frog Detective. Its cute, its stupid, its funny and has the best cases and characters. My favorite is Lobster Cop, he is the best.
There is a summer activity called Rundbold (round ball) which is like basically baseball. You play it by throwing a ball in the motion of a lob, stirring the field when you hit it with a bat. It's a classic summer thing for my area
My store has house-made lobster mac, and it's sooooo delicious! It's at a great price point, as well! Perfect for the cheese-lover in me when I want some seafood too. Thanks again for the fun episode, Mint and Matara! HAGS!!
Mint! If you want to see a Shoebill at a Japanese zoo, the Ueno zoo has one in Tokyo! My partner and I saw one in November and it was AMAZING, highly recommend!
All this talk of being on the beach and getting buried in sand and playing chicken in the water is reminding me of my own cottage vacations with the family. And one time I was out kayaking on the lake all day but had neglected to put on sunscreen. That night, the areas of my skin not covered by the floatation vest were cooked lobster-red. I was NOT a happy bunny for the following days! Fortunately I some awesome Aloe Vera burn gel that really helped with it though!
Fun fact: in Canada, specifically Nova Scotia, on groundhog day, they have a lobster named Lucy give the prediction instead of the traditional groundhog
Thanks for the awesome episode! Y’all have really made monday something to look forward to! I’m a little surprised summer outfits aren’t on the list, but I guess those would typically be a surprise. The bait and switch of summer Matara actually being a space lobster for a change would be wild. HAGS!!!
Mint DEFINITELY said "suckled" or something very similar... Also, I've only been to a murder mystery dinner once and it was quite fun. It was in Sevierville Tennessee and it was about a family of moonshiners. Poked fun at their own culture quite a bit, but in a pleasant way. The actors were great, but honestly the food was slop-tier. They didn't even offer lobster!
When I was a senior in high school my dad had to go to the city to work, and my mom had her own job so she didn't always have time to cook dinner, so about once a week the two of us would go to Red Lobster. Those were good memories. Hella tasty too
I loved seeing the photos of the seafood boil, it reminds me of a Filipino boodle fight! My friend put one on for a group of us once, there wasn't any lobster but there was fresh fish that her husband caught that morning and fresh prawns from the market. So delicious and fun to share food with everyone that way.
This was so much fun and nostalgic and really made me want to put a list together too! Grilling, barbecuing, and seafood all sound so much fun and bring back so many memories - I know it's often seen as "fancier" but I'm a bigger fan of crab than I am of lobster and I think part of that is catching them with my grandfather and having them for dinner the same night ages ago. I feel like I just remembered so much of the magic of summer that I had forgotten over the years, and now I really want to go chase it!
Excited for the summer list! Mint and Matara going to an aquarium to see the fishes, octopus, and crustaceans sounds like fun! Come to think of it aren't lobsters kind of like the cockroaches of the sea? They both have antennas, meaty claws and only a few toes per leg! I guess if Matara gets sunburned she would be the right color too... 🤔
My first thought with Matara’s bingo list was seeing the read 5 Horus heresy books and remembering the meme she saw with “You start with Horus Rising, and the first four books are chronological but it gets fun when you get to book five.
Talk about a great birthday event to wait for, the 15th is my birthday and the final podcast episode coming out the next day. Think I'll have lobster for my birthday
I think everything on your lists sound like great summer plans. If we weren’t complete strangers I would love to join in on those activities even though Matara lives in the middle of nowhere. So I guess I need my own fun ideas… 1. Run or bike outdoors and get ice cream 2. Have a barbecue 3. Make 3 kinds of ice cream that I haven’t made before 4. Find a local shop that I’ve never visited 5. Sleep under the stars 6. Go to sand dunes 7. Visit a water park 8. Have a board game night 9. Have a campfire 10. Visit a nature preserve HAGS P.S. I’m not posting this on Twitter because I got rid of my Twitter account. Hope you like the list regardless. #MintaraMondays
Used to play tennis a lot during my teens, thats definitely no1 on my list of things to do again this summer. Had a decent backhand, played a good volley but my best move that always came through in a pinch? My lob. So much so that I became known to my tennis friends as "the lobster". Which beats my regular nickname "mr not even a little subtle".
British person here conjured by the mention of a BBQ. Have you considered a disposable single use BBQ? So you can BBQ on the go. Pretty good for cooking lobster if you're at the beach too.
love the pod cast truly also just wanna say i wanna go to japan and see the bustling streets of Tokyo i heard rumors spread of elusive blue lobsters frequenting the hidden alleyways. Seeing like hidden treasures like those would be nice.
the animal inside me always screams, but watching Mint and Matara talking about so many wonderful topics, will keep the animal, which is a lobster (or crab, since that's my zodiac sign), really quiet, so thank you two uwu :3
Let's goooo another Mintara podcast episode! On this one, I liked how a lot of your wishlist items were casual things to do while hanging out with friends and family. But the half marathon one sounds the hardest compared to the rest. Should be doable though, especially with Mata's coaching lol. Thanks again for another fun episode of yapping. Especially looking forward to the off collab for metal gear. Really enjoyed the podcast as usual, see you next week!
Make sure to tweet your lists at us over at #MintaraMondays on the twitter :)
Giri's Birthday is June 9th.
Really nice to see Matara coaxing Mint out of her shell, not unlike how a lobster is coaxed out of its own shell and into a vat of hollandaise sauce.
It's called grooming.
Such a way with words.
HAGS (affectionate)
I wish this podcast could go on forever, like the immortality of a lobster
Same. This is such a delightful podcast to split between a Monday or Tuesday. I really wish it wasn't limited.
It's okay if this podcast only lasts for the summer, we can have three other podcasts of them for the other seasons
"You're drowning and my big hips are on your face..." The Momos all stand in unison "I volunteer as tribute!!!" lol
11:28 - That is not Genshin, that is Assassin's Creed Odyssey. I could not catch lobsters there at all.
I heard blue lobsters exist. Real life shinies
Nothing like sitting in a walgreens drive thru listening to this!
Beans for the engagement god!
Lobsters for the algorithmic throne!
This month really flew by! Thanks for the great episodes so far.
Feel better Jun!!

I'd have thought the Hagfish was the hag of the sea...
Lobster pets are so cool, i heard they stopped it after the mint flavoured lobsters became famous with the people.

This episode was as good if not even better than the cinema masterpiece The Lobster. Im tempted to do the list 😤
Here I am writing my Summer List in Canada while it snows like hell outside.

Looking forward to laying in the sun and listening to "Rock Lobster" by the B-52s
I think everything on your lists sound like great summer plans. If we weren’t complete strangers I would love to join in on those activities even though Matara lives in the middle of nowhere. So I guess I need my own fun ideas…
1. Run or bike outdoors and get ice cream
2. Have a barbecue
3. Make 3 kinds of ice cream that I haven’t made before
4. Find a local shop that I’ve never visited
5. Sleep under the stars
6. Go to sand dunes
7. Visit a water park
8. Have a board game night
9. Have a campfire
10. Visit a nature preserve
HAGS
Cant wait the day you two get experience living like Larry!
the animal inside me always screams, but watching Mint and Matara talking about so many wonderful topics, will keep the animal, which is a lobster (or crab, since that's my zodiac sign), really quiet, so thank you two uwu :3
Watching this episode and seeing all the good stuff y’all talk about really does make me crave some lobster, maybe that can be added to my list :3
Lol like, Obviously,
be it nor not, shit gets real, till tomorrow.
Excited for the next pod cast. Really.
Well, I know one thing to put on my list: enjoy fun summer stories from Mint and Matara~!
