The defenses argument basically is, "I pointed my gun at an unarmed man first and then the unarmed man tried to fight for his life by grabbing the gun so I shot him in self defense." That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. You don't get to be the armed aggressor and then claim self defense because the other person is fighting for their life in self defense from you.

Try to imagine the people on the jury. You just know they weren’t buying what this defense attorney was selling. Hate how he tells them at one point to not be emotional, and then he injects emotion by saying Travis feared for his life and feared for his father’s life and Travis needs you to extend your hand to help him. His whole argument is built on emotion and none of it makes any logical sense.

You are so wrong it's nauseating...you fell for a contortion of law by this pathetic prosecution...GA self-defense law is clear...only if you have NO OTHER WAY OUT may you use lethal force, OR in fact use self-defense altogether...The "stand your ground law" was not meant for someone TO APPROACH someone using that law? In this case Aubery approached THE DEFENDANT getting physical. In fact the DEFENDANT had the right to "stand your ground law". They never got physical, Aubery did.
Suspect turned to face his followers and attacked the defendant (WAS NOT ALLOWED TO under GA law)..He had other ways out...Could've kept running as he was doing for 5 minutes, could have ran into someone's yard and jumped fences, he was young enough to do so, a "jogger" no?
Could have run home, called the police from his house...had OTHER options, BUT he decided to attack a man holding a gun? He reasonably should have known he could get shot but did that action anyway...That disallows him retribution...he then placed the defendant in a "no other way out" position and the defendant acted UNDER DURESS.
I put it to you, that Arbery was NOT scared of them, he knew they were NOT there to "shoot him", as he saw them following him for 5 minutes...defendants had AMPLE time to run him over or shoot at him from a distance or close up...he was on foot, they were in vehicles, DO THE MATH. But defendants never harmed him.
The dynamics ONLY changed when Arbery decided to attack them. He was NOT "self-defending", no shots were fired at him, nor was he confronted...Arbery was the one confronting by turning around and approaching, attempting to go by them, then one defendant pulled sideways with his truck trying to stop him...
ask YOURSELF...as Arbery approached the defendant, why did defendant NOT SHOOT? When Arbery HIT defendant against the head, why did defendant STILL not shoot, Arbery was an easy target was he not? Only when Arbery began fighting defendant for his gun, defendant saw "no way out". Defendant testified...he was strong, I was not about to let him take my gun and shoot me and my dad.
The trigger was only pulled UNDER DURESS, not before, nor after. Defendant was entitled to self-defense. The presence of the gun does not mean a "planned murder" nor "a hunt", as the theory sold to you and the jury, The gun was for self-defense, video shows THAT was what it was used for...they did not know either whether Arbery may become combative and maybe had a knife?
This "hunting a black man" nonsense is ludicrous. Further Arbery was convicted of SHOP LIFTING and a two times felon under probation...no wonder he would not wait for the police...why not run in his own neighborhood? defendants recognized him on a video inside a residence under construction looking around, obviously he was there in that area looking for something like tools or materials he could steal...
Once a thief always a thief. Incompetent defense attorneys, overzealous prosecutor and judge playing for the cameras caused a bad day for jurisprudence.

This is what I am hearing from Travis' attorney. Travis can fear for his life and the safety of others. Travis is allowed to point the gun at and try to hit Ahmaud with his truck because he has fear. Ahmaud isn't allowed to run due to him being fearful. Ahmaud is not allowed to fear for his life and then fight for it. Travis' lawyers said police pull their guns like this all the time while searching for suspects. Plus, Travis could’ve been acting for the sake of police on scene. He showed no remorse when he turned his back after murdering Ahmaud and showed no remorse by victim blaming Ahmaud while on the stand. The lawyer says the state criticized Travis for testifying. Uhm, no. The truth is Travis was criticized for lying! The attorney says we should not assume Travis is biased. Of course we should! Travis is on trial for his life and wants the jury to come back with an acquittal. The lawyer says bringing up all the things Travis could have done differently is a red herring?! Yet, he and Travis kept saying Ahmaud could have run through a ditch, blah blah blah. Then, the lawyer says the state is claiming that pulling up next to someone with a truck is aggravated assault. No, they’re saying that chasing someone with a truck, pointing guns at the person, and refusing to back down are aggravated assault and false imprisonment. This lawyer is a liar and a gaslighter.

I use to drive through that same neighborhood looking at houses dreaming of a better life.I loved to see the nice big houses.Amaud lived across the street from that neighborhood in fancy bluff so I'm sure he too was jogging and dreaming of better life.

Greg mcMichael was armed with a .357 magnum, while Ahmaud was unarmed. He was not the helpless old man the defense made him out to be.

Pretty disgusting how the defence lawyers try to portray the murders as victims.
I know accused people deserve a defence, but how do these lawyers sleep at night when they KNOW they are twisting the facts?

I love watching the clip where he gets pissy with the prosecutor over her not marking an exhibit before she hands it to him. She has this tone like, "spare me from the ego of mediocre male lawyers.

This is the weakest, dumbest argument, he tried to poison the case by throwing race and fear into it.

I feel like as a defense attorney you should just be straight up with your client sometimes like… “Damn bruh.. yeah you’re guilty. Want me to ask for a plea deal?”
