The mountain really was a very well designed engine. It had power and torque quite evenly matched to some larger locomotives. Wonderful race yet again! The sp-2 still amazes me like K&L with the quality and attention to detail to the model.
That's right! When a steam train climbing a slope, a Mountain type 4-8-2 had a better balance between its size, overall weight, and horsepower. I believe this is why SP2 + 4-8-2 beat a SP2 + 4-8-4 in terms of speed. : )
How about making a race with four types of locomotives the southern pacific AC-12 cab forward vs the union pacific big boy vs the B&O EM-1 vs the norfolk and western y-6
Lilb's SP-2s are my absolute favorite payware locomotives available right now. Such a shame he disappeared right after making them, apparently he had plans on doing other SP locomotives like the F class 2-10-2s Imagine if he was still working, we might have a Cab Forward pack for trainz by now...
Have you heard the creator of the 844 on TS19 is making an upgraded version of Big Boy and the Challenger? He said he would have them done in 1 to 2 years.
