I went through the Virgin River Gorge two weeks ago, and couldn’t believe my eyes. It is so beautiful. This was my first trip out west and it did not disappoint. I vacationed in Vegas and went on a tour to the Grand Canyon West Rim and did the Zion / Bryce Canyon tour. They all were amazing. The furthest west I’d ever been prior to this trip was Houston, TX. I was in awe the entire trip!
Wow, I just drove through the gorge today! Went to Zion, too many folks inside the park, the rangers had to close the road for a bit and reopened later afternoon 😅 warm warm weather ❤❤

About 15mins in you passed a coffee truck. Read my mind haha. Virgin River Gorge is one of the places I want to see in person. The geology is amazing and the river is definitely in the Basin n Range area. Looking at the mountains I wonder at all the uplift and downdip going on there. And yes it is still happening. It looks to me you made a serious upgrade to your photo gear. High definition camera and wide angle high quality lenses. And you got some really impressive video quality out of it.

It never ceases to amaze me that we can actually build roads through landscapes like this.
Amazing geology in that area. It has elements of the Mojave Desert, the Great Basin, and the Colorado Plateau.
Everything seems to come together right in that area!
My Master's thesis project takes place near here-- in the Beaver Dam Mountains just north. Super excited to do field work there this summer
I have fallen in love with the Virgin Gorge so I have to ask; are there any virgins in there anywhere??
