Can we talk about the use of the word "Settler"? No one is using the word to describe Muslim people who move out of Israel into a Hamas controlled neighborhood. A "settler" in 2023 is just a Jew in an area that is hostile to Jews.

My goodness the internet is fucking brain dead
Completely believable. I was feeding my son breakfast this morning (he's almost 2) and I read about the 6 y/o Palestinian boy that was stabbed 26 times by his 70+ year old neighbor and I couldn't help but start to well up thinking about how he had no idea what was happening and was scared for his life and in pain. He'll never get to experience anything life has to offer and now those parents, family, and friends will live on remembering the little boy that was taken from them too soon. I couldn't imagine losing my son to something so senseless... His father wasn't even able to speak during the press conference because he was still in shock and grieving.
Since I've become a father, anything relating to children's suffering makes me cry. Any true crime about children is the worst; I think there's a level of empathy you only fully grasp once you have little people of your own. I hardly ever cried about anything, and now even kids' films I watch with my children make me well up.
Shit so that's why every kids film makes me cry now
I heard about the videos or pictures of dead babies and I morbid curiosity almost got the better of me, I wanted to look it up. I eventually forgot about it and, a couple of days later, I watched a video of people evacuating Gaza. Amidst all of the the chaos and fear, there were so many small children with expressions ranging from terrified to just completely blank. I sat and thought about how undeserved they are of all of that and it nearly broke me. I realized, while watching that video, that seeing dead babies is probably something I don't need. No thanks.
I did see it accidentally. It almost broke me. Thoses kids dont deserve that.
I remember seeing a stat that says 50% of the children in Gaza suffer from PTSD
Yea me and my edgy friend used to watch people die on reddit but I couldn't bare to watch any of them involving children. It's just so wrong, they're the only innocent ones in this world.

You mean the baby settlers?
I can't speak to the loss of a child, but it's that universal understanding that child is supposed to outlive their parents that causes even non parents to break.
Being a child in Palestine is like extreme difficulty 😂
Sort of unrelated but just an example that helps give weight to your words. Who here can watch King Theoden break down over his son's death in The Two Towers without getting a little choked up? "No parent should have to bury their child." Such a simply written line but delivered so powerfully it cuts right down to your soul and hits some primal place that you can relate to even if you don't have children.
I personally cannot bring myself to look up any of the images involving children on either side of the conflict. I have 3 children of my own. I cannot take it

I used to be much further Left, primarily because I believed it to be the bastion of empathy and compassion. Several specific instances showed me that with faaaar too many Leftists, they have only a meager pool of empathy from which to draw. They guard it jealously, choosing only to bestow it upon those they deem of highest worth, and take endless pleasure from visiting righteous wrath upon anyone else. Hasan & Emma are exemplars of this mindset. They use advanced calculus of morality and circumstance to decide whether it is worth parting with a smidgen of their precious compassion. Ethan, for all his faults, can at least feel for another human qua human, and not as a symbol in some meta-story about power and oppression.
Should you not be basing your political beliefs on your own principles rather than what other people are doing?
@@Fluffy6555 A fair question. I would say that I believe principles are ideas that we try to act out in the real world. If I see enough people with whom I was under the impression that we shared principles act in ways which are incongruous with what I believed that our shared principles required to act, I have to reassess both my principles and my perceptions of those who I thought shared them. I thought both required a little shifting.

The US doesn’t do multiculturalism, you guys have a ‘melting pot’ model. One where migrants are expected to assimilate into American culture. The UK and most western and northern European countries use a multicultural model, one that doesn’t focus on assimilation. The US gets a lot of criticism for their approach, however, it is possible that they were correct all along. Although it might seem strange to some that people are expected to drop their norms and values when they migrate, I think that’s far better than creating cultural enclaves like we have in some parts the UK. It isn’t extremely common, nowhere near as common as some people claim it is, but there are certainly some neighbourhoods where large amounts of people could care less about blending into British society.
Yeah multiculturalism is what we do here in Europe where basically minority ethnic groups basically only associate with their own kind and are societies that exist outside of the major society. Even here in Finland we have the Sámi which despite our previous attempts to remove their existence as a people (the Swedes and Norweigans just tried erasing their culture, we straight up threw them into the front lines against the Soviets in the Winter War) prior to the government deciding they have a right to exist, if we get down to it they aren't REALLY like the rest of us. They have their own culture, their own 3 languages, even their own parliament (though to say it has any real governing power is dubious at best). I guess the closest thing the US has to what we do is the Indian reservations.
Melting pot doesn't just mean that immigrants becoming homogenized. Every bits of culture brought in by the immigrants also enriches the pot as a whole little by little. Virtually every adult American knows how to use chopsticks is just a small bit of this in action. The American identity as a whole gets gradually changed as more immigrants arrive.
@@dejectedfrogcat2840Yeah you’re 100% correct, everything that goes into the pot adds to the flavour. But you’re expected to adopt the major values like liberalism, freedom of speech and religion etc.
The US hasn’t been a melting pot for a while
"You guys have a 'melting pot' model. One where migrants are expected to assimilate into american culture' isn't that what multiculturalism is?
Also if you're gonna expect immigrants to start adopting your culture upon arriving and establishing a life in your country, is that actually multiculturalism? You're just pressuring people upon arriving to your country to change their way of life which is monoculturalism not multiculturalism.
24:28 That Hasan clip is horrifying, holy shit.
With age, I've started to develop empathy for people I hate. People like my father, who emotionally abused me in novel and inhuman ways, have this emotional depth I couldn't see before. He was just this horrifying person who convinced me everyone was trying to poison and kill me, in addition to other stuff. I always thought of him as this evil force of nature. I thought that if I tried to step inside his shoes and understand his perspective, I'd lose something... Like, I was afraid he'd "get away with it" if I understood he was "just a hurt person."
Really making an effort to understand where he was coming from didn't make me love or forgive him or something like that. It made the evil shit he did to me *pathetic* instead. He needed to bully and isolate a young teenager to feel big about himself. He crumbled to the pressures of the world because of his weakness.
Realizing that helped me to understand and process bad parts about myself that I hadn't considered before. It really enriched me. Since then, I've found I have an easier time really understanding the world. I've met and empathized with war criminals, rapists, and all manner of people who have done bad things. It's easier to cut through the bullshit I suppose, and it's easier to be a positive influence.
This is so stupid. Destiny's supposed to be building bridges with lefties but instead he's spending his time trying to figure out who is really crying, what's justified to cry about, how many tears each side deserves? Christ.

The new dad emotions is a thing! When I had my child - anything involving trauma and children was like 100x more affective to my emotions then before I had my child.
It really is just one of those things that you can't understand until your a parent. It is a switch that gets flipped. I know when I was a teenager and would see a dead kid from some war footage my reaction was completely detached from physical emotions. Now....ooof it's rough
Since my daughter was born, I've been WAY more sensitive about bad things happening to daughters, girls, and kids in general. That Motley Crue movie on Netflix really got to me.
I'm a huge horror fan after my daughter was born I attempted to watch The Conjuring The Last Key when it was released. As soon as the intro started with the abuse I had to switch it off.
Duuuude the scene where Vinny is with his daughter. I'm not even a dad but that was so awful. The dirt was a shockingly good movie.
A good indication that its real feelings ethan is having is you can watch his whole face turn gradually incredibly red. I am a father if. 7 year old. I couldn't watch those clips. Id cry to. Idc what your opinion of ethen is. But empathy exists and he may not show it all the time. But parents feel this. It really hurts
The biggest reason I believe Ethan's tears is because of how red he is in the face. When you cry, it becomes harder to breathe normally without bursting out into a full-blown bawling fit. Ethan, being a professional podcaster and political commentator, tries to hold back these emotions, causing immense pressure to his head turning his face blood red.
The red face is a key factor in determining whether the tears are genuine or they're just crocodile tears.
Also the twitching and the increased ticks from tourettes. He was 100% being real. Ethan is a retard sometimes and I stopped following his content long ago, but the guy would never fake tears in my estimation.
I also noticed his hands trembling, which is a sign of holding in extreme emotion.

So destiny called out emma for being an evil hypocrite for not crying about the israelis who were murdered but goes to sympathize with ethan who ALSO DIDN'T cry for the israeli side (his own side who's wife is from and who he's a citizen of), then he went to explain away with the hasan crying incident how some people cry differently and awkwardly and that it may look fake to some people yet he assumed and smeared emily for exactly that, called her out for "fake crying".
I like destiny a lot but sometimes he's so biased and hypocritical when he's trying to stand out from all the progressive "crazies" that he likes to call out and be the "nuanced lefty".
It feels a bit like projection on Destiny’s side. Destiny tends to talk about this things too clinically. People show their emotions differently.
It was authentic for sure those were brown babies and she's a white woman
Me, an individual who has struggled with anhedonia for their whole life listening to Destiny talk about anhedonia: "Oh hey, one of my favorite content creators talking about something I've gone through and can relate to!"
Destiny talking about anhedonia: "I don't think you can get over this. You just struggle with this for your whole life until you eventually kill yourself."
Gee thanks buddy...
Yeah it's not great. People don't get this, but it doesn't only apply to leisure activities. Try finding *anything* that's interesting enough to want to work for when you have anhedonia, and then add ADHD on top, which makes it basically extremely difficult to work on anything that's not in some way interesting. A great recipe for a whole lot of nothing...
This is honestly Ethan's redemption arc. I done a full 180 on my opinion of him over the last month.
14:55 tbf, they did try the peaceful method in 2018-19 with protests of 30,000 people near the Gaza-Isrsel borders. The Gaznas just ended getting gunned down by the IDF. Children, medical personnel etc. killed, and the whole world either never heard of it, or didn't care. So, how exactly is Gaza supposed to win the support of the world?

That’s crazy to hear after his abortion debates
I appreciate you expressing an understanding of depression and anhedonia and how horrific and s**cide inducing it can be. So many people say that people who take themselves out are weak and selfish but good God if you've felt it, you understand. My longest bout was a month long and I've since received help and am in a much better place, but I can 1000% understand someone choosing to opt out if they experience no drive or joy for several months or years on end. I always think of depression more like a deep, existential boredom more than sadness. It's awful.
Get help, folks! It can get less awful
Ps. As a South African, thank you again for questioning the use of the word 'apartheid' in this context
you have empirical evidence that you have a depressed brain? any numbers anything? would love to see it
Its nice to hear Destiny's empathy is growing through his close relationships with people.
TotalBiscuit’s death left a hole in gaming journalism that has still yet to be filled.
These past few events have really showcased that Hasan doesn't care for Ethan at all, just running him for his viewership.
*Never cared*
Hassan needs to fight Sam Hyde

The candy man cometh
He'd NEVER 😂
Hasan Piker is by far the most narcissistic political commentator I have ever had the misfortune of listening to
Im sorry but that kyle Rittenhouse cry was funny asf tho.. bro got the craziest ugly cry that I've ever seen
It was a full on breakdown
20:57 Hasan: I want to cut in here for a second to stop you from garnering any sympathy from the audience. I will also cry later on in the show to win back the audience on my side because it’s not like when thinking about this journalist’s story that it gets me emotional every time, in fact, very conveniently, this happens to be the first time I actually cried about this despite knowing about this story many years back. Pretty funny how emotions work, right Ethan? It just hits you right at the most perfect moment.
Something came up in this vid that hit close to home. I’ve had bouts with depression since I was a kid. People always thought telling me how to fix it will make things better. It doesn’t, a truly depressed person will convince themselves that they deserve it. They’ll try and destroy themselves and wait for death. I ruined my own life, top to bottom and it felt right. I ended up in an abandoned apartment living on a broken sofa with bits of scaffolding to keep my door closed. And It felt like i was getting what I deserved and I had no good reason to feel that way but I’d narratively twist my entire life around to make out I did. Be aware of this if you have a genuinely depressed friend. It’s all to do with how they feel about themselves. They know the solution. They just don’t think they deserve to be fixed. Be careful with them.
This is too true man too true
It's not necessarily that i feel like i don't deserve to be fixed. For me, i genuinely cannot see myself happy unless i turn into someone else completely. Either that, or nothing will be left. I feel like my feelings have consumed me as a person and it's inescapable at this point. Why even put in the effort to get better when i don't even know what better is.
@@stanpines9011 Sorry to hear that. Hope you don't mind if I ask you a question. Do you feel a lot of shame? Not really about something you did but just of yourself generally that makes you think you'd have to be an entirely different person to be happy.
I have never had such contempt for parts of the left as I have in recent days.
Just admit the human condition.. stop sorting people by political groups or labels, it obfuscates reality. Once you understand the human condition you can understand anyone and far more clearly
It's actually legitimately shocking how little empathy and ability to self-reflect like 50% of humanity possesses. Makes me sad.
i cried just seeing ethan cry about it, imagining the death of a child as a father is absolutely tragic, no parent should ever see their child die
I love how we're literally living in the time where... it needs to be EXPLAINED and broken down why a Father of two kids MIGHT POSSIBLY tear up over a baby or child dying. Yep.. this world has become degenerate.
True
Nah, just extremely online leftists. Most people in the world have a good relationship with their family. Leftys have hardly any kids nowadays, bore out by the stats too
whats crazy is one side cries for the dead babies of the other side, but the other cheers for the deaths of babies
No matter how you feel about the entire issues in Israel seeing a dead baby will get to you. There is nothing more innocent, pure, and undeserving. It’s hard to see
Yeah the nazi soldiers in ww2 had wives and children that were sad when they were killed by the ally forces. Also, a lot of serial killers have a hard time in jail, some of them can’t have cookies with their lunch. How sad how tragic. How inhumane they are treated by the family of the victims that out these murderers in the prison!!
@@TheIsraelProphetess why wouldn’t you be sad for their families? What are you trying to say? “Families should be punished by the sins of the father?”
Ok North Korea

I can think of some people it wouldn’t get to. Probably the kinda people who see a lifeless innocent civilian woman’s corpse being paraded around and celebrating it. That kind of person doesn’t suddenly feel sympathy when they see a dead baby. I’m not saying that’s Palestinians in general obviously. I’m just talking about the ones who are SO far gone brainwashed/propagandized/angry that they can look at an innocent persons corpse and celebrate. Seeing a dead baby probably isn’t “getting to” that kinda person.
I really think destiny should cover people like Ben Shapiro calling for the genocide of 2 million people on twitter every day instead of just slam dunking cringe lefties as much as he’s making fun of lefties being selective he’s almost more so in his coverage only looking at one side while a bunch or right wingers are saying yay genocide idk tho
I know he’s scared to burn the Shapiro bridge before they have a debate though so that will never happen😂
It’s very weird how Destiny is proscribing someone else’s mental n emotional state when he cautions others against it eg. rittenhouse & peterson , he’s also doing a lot of loaded framing which I guess UA-camrs do but he likes to pretend he’s above it when he’s not 🤔, is it just cause he hates Hassan, it’s very weird
As a guy with young kids, thats 100% correct. Seeing young kids hurt gets me immediately in a way that it never did before I had kids.
God this was so unbearable to watch. Hasan just refusing to outright say that killing babies is wrong, Ethan just desperately trying to understand Hasan's sociopathic mindset.
She quoted, "War is hell", when that's a short excerpt from a more extended quote which chartises those unfamiliar with war, encouraging it. The irony is ridiculous.
It's very common for people who are crying to switch to laughter about something else very quickly. It's a natural bodily response, to want to be happy instead of sad. I think it's easier to make someone who is sad laugh than it is to make someone laugh who's not feeling any emotions. It might look kind of cold and heartless on the outside but it's usually not a sign of someone being disingenuous, although that does certainly happen and is probably true about Hasan in that instance.
That was the most forced cry the world has ever witnessed
@@gonootropics2.065 I don't know about ever but I think it was forced, yeah.
As a Dad with a 4 and 1 year old, not even seeing the video, just hearing his description of it made me tear up. Its terrible.
I fucking hate this
I hate that people who didnt do anything are dying and being punished
It just isnt fair
Wanna know something fun? It's always been this way. The internet just allows you to see it.
Hassan is actually just making the Gabi Braun argument from Attack on Titan: “Your ancestors committed crimes against mine hundreds of years ago, they have this coming”. And Ethan coming to the same conclusion as the orphan girl from that episode who is begging to know what her mother had to do with any of it, having never left their hometown or killed anybody.
Just sad to watch how callous Hassan has become recently holy shit🫢
Bro Hasans "tears" during that pod were so obviously and blatantly forced to anyone with a brain
I'm a mean son of bitch, but Hasan not reaching out to Ethan in that moment shows the measure of who he is as a person.
ESPECIALLY after Ethan was moved by Hasan “crying” and was so kind about it
If Ethan was faking that, he deserves an Oscar, because that is some goddamn incredible acting. So yeah, no shit he wasn't faking it. Regardless of what people might think of his supposed flaws, he's undeniably an empathetic and kind-hearted human.
I think the left feels it has to over correct to combat norms that are unjust. So we all know the bombing of civilians is bad, but the US, and western media is fine with the bombing of Gaza. And we all know that shutting off water, power, and food to a civilian population is bad, but again it is excused for Israel and their "right to defend themselves". So if the murder of civilians is acceptable for one side, they feel they have to argue that the murder of civilians is permissible on the other side, otherwise they've given up ground that the other side is unwilling to secede. This isn't done as a conscious decision, but more of a knee jerk reaction.
How else is Israel meant to defend itself, turns into how else are Palestinians able to liberate themselves. But by and large society has accepted one side of atrocity, so they have to fight harder for their side.
Emma Vigeland has no soul, therefore no tears from her are genuine. This is scientific fact.
Destiny with the 24/7 hasan coverage
I think Destiny is wrong in thinking no ones’s tears are genuine. I think he underestimates how much people get emotional about things and how ‘easily’ it can make them cry. I’ve seen people cry when just talking about a bad day at work. It’s somewhat normal. He’s not like that himself so think he just has a hard time believing other people genuinely are
I was acrually astonished watching Hasan try to emulate crying how Ethan did. He literally had a light bulb moment during Ethans genuine breakdown as a father. The rest of the show was Hasan planning if it had been long enough for him to start his crying bit now. Theres always been something super off about Hasan.. he's a hypocrite.
when a white guy turns red you know he is being serious
"im a new dad so that really got to me"
As a dad of 3 daughters im telling you, having kids is so incredibly important. As far as developing yourself into the "good Samaritan" figure or that person we all admire and try to emulate, becoming/actively being a parent is tremendous strides in that direction.
thanks for the heads up, never having kids

42:12 - I remember when incontrol passed away and how sad everyone was because of this reason. I was very much into the Starcraft 2 scene since the beginning and I always remember him as being a great ambassador of the game. His death was especially resonant with me because in 2012, I also had a DVT from a long flight that turned into a pulmonary embolism that nearly killed me. I smoked a pack of cigarettes a day and weighed 387-lbs. I've since quit smoking and am now floating in the 180's at 6'3. That phenomenon of "getting a second chance at life" as a result of all that is still to this day felt as an uncanny dichotomy of existence. Because it's as if I've lived out two different existences. Not only because my life is fundamentally different than it was then, but also because I'm fundamentally a different person for it. To see that robbed from Geoff, in my view, is the biggest tragedy.
I am not even a dad and Ethan crying made me get wet eyes just thinking about how absolutely devastating that is.
How could being protective of your woman possibly be “misogynistic”?!??? Destiny wtf man you need to stop with the simping, just be a man bro it’s not a crime
Hasan saw Ethan crying and had to one up him with perhaps the worst fake cry I've ever witnessed. Truly cringeworthy stuff
Steve Irwin was for sure the most sad celeb death for me. Grew up watching him and was always blown away by his positivity and passion. Really wished he was my dad for a while when I was a kid… I couldn’t believe it. And the way it happened too. Like getting struck by lightning. Was also sad because of the lost future good in the world he would have surely caused. It’s really great to see his son/daughter and wife carrying on his legacy, but his son has no direct memories of him. I also think steve affected his children’s lives more than most dads. But not being there has to continually leave a hole in their world. So damn sad.
I was very drunk when I heard the news about Steve.

0:56 I feel like this is Destiny's biggest roadblock. He still can't seem to accept that the "left" was never a body that had some kind of immune system response to things. Neither side ever had some kind of natural reason for existing, "left" and "right" are terrible ways to distinguish what people believe.
