this is great in so many levels.. i mean, harp? toys? beat-boxing? bjork voice? opera voice? clarinet? yo???
so underrated
It's a masterpiece
I just wish this version was on Spotify! 😢
@@caitlynnp9507 bro!! Yes. There's been days I wake up in the morning and on my way ti work put this song on UA-cam and then the entire performance.
Agreed
@@caitlynnp9507 now we don't even have the studio version on spotify :(
Anyone from 2024? 👇🏼
Right here

Yeeeears later and still up there with my number 1 songs! The rawness
Ohh yes

2023 and still vibing here ? Anyone else ?
Sorry for my traste in músic :(
I am 😂
2024, vibing still
2024 🎉
2024 and Oh gawd YES.
Wish this version was on Spotify! It is absolutely incredible
I wish COCOROSIE would release this performance! It is so much more moving than anything they have done in the studio! I really can't get into their studio albums, but their performances are absolutely stunning!!!
He draws near the periphery
In disbelief on delivery
Came child from the deep inferno
Crusty head of dead volcano
Heartless crow with brittle beak
Wooden leg too schocked to speak
Lilac dust of a woman's hair
A wooden cross a paper prayer
A stone where her body lay
A stack of feathers a pile of hay
A mushroom for an eye ball
A mustache from the snow fall
Worms weave a ring where fairies square dance
Queens weave wigs with eyelash
Trance music makes the fairies dance
From the caves of snail shells
Echoes the mutter medieval spells
Mystery flows her wicked river
Of thorn and blade and silver sliver
Bending 'round the clover fields
Their sapling stems don't break but yield
Her pain inflicts no arguments
Must learn to sway and un-arrange
As earth she makes her final passage
After humans long have ravaged
Vanished with all maps for motion
Upward angels last devotion
One by one escort us home
To leave the elementals free to roam
To bathe in the last of ocean's foam
To beach comb the nuclear debris
Our plastic toys and our metal trees
Once blew the pollen the feet of bees
Now cry the stars when upon the earth
Their gaze might rest a nostalgic burst
A lament be heard through all the cosmos
Of the dying planet with fallen foes
*God help me
opera singing and breakbeat beatboxing with a harp, clarinet and rap tier lyricism woaaa
Literally, this has been in my watch later for too fucking long
@@anja1789 hi just want to remind you this exists! 🖤

I like this version better than the album version.
No way. Album version is way more unique
+1 for this version!
I LIKE THE LIVE VERSION IN A PARK OF Mexico City!
i like this version more too 😍
The Lemonade version of the live on KEXP is also better than the album.
I've been listening to this same song for about 5 years now and I'm still floored by how absolutely beautiful it is. I'm in tears.
i love the song lemonade
Same. Still coming back to this currently. Masterpiece.
Girl I felt that
I hope its been 7 years now
Idk. Her voice sounds bad... Like a 6 year old that's having a stroke. The harp player sounds much better
Honestly, at least 1,000 of these views are me.
Yea baby
Carla K same here
Same
Im proud to say both of my Parents are over 50 and bc of me they know who Cocorosie is.
You and me both Sista! i love this tune but specifically this version of this song..I am addicted!!even 4 or 5 years later!
this song opened my 3rd ear
anarchitect420 420 blaze it
posser...
Mr. White IKR! LOL
Love the anagram darling.
@@thedaveastator7939
What anagram?
I've never heard anything quite like this. What an amazing, genuinely unique sound!
I felt like I was on acid, part joyful, part what the fuck is happening.
*Trance music makes the fairies dance*
Sib ___ this comment underrated haha
✨✨
I've been enjoying this for 13 years. 2024 and I'm still blown away every time.
This song brings out a fantasy in everyone.
Like The harpist 's voice
Becky StyleJornal it seems to have everything I wouldn't like, yet it fits together beautifuly. And yes I agree!
Becky StyleJornal She was an opera singer.
Wow already 12 years? And we still here, I love this masterpiece ❤
Yeaaah
a beat boxer and an opera singer...who knew..
+Amber Turnbull CocoRosie
Amber Turnbull and don't forget the cackling witch playing the clarinet.
Hi
@@gaiat3484 joppy?
This live cover is 1000times more intimate then the final album version.
CocoRosie have their own genre, I call it "dark toybox" & I love it.
They sound a lot like Joanna Newsom
Gothic folk
Perfect!
I believe they're Freak Folk but I like Dark Toybox.
i think it's wankoff
I need a cigarette after that, dang.
I remember reading that the older sister would sing and practice opera in the bathroom how they wrote tracks and recorded songs using whatever they could find.
Who still loving this in 2025?
🤔 2025? ... Ok, Back to the future 😅🎉✌️
PANICKED LOL
I will return in 2025
Will love this forever and ever
I will no doubt 😊
Seriously UA-cam? How long did you think you could hide this from my all-hearing ears!
“I feel like an emotional jellyfish” it’s highly probable nobody has ever uttered that phrase before her, but it’s the perfect way to describe this experience.
i can assure you, that if I had just sat in that recording booth with them and experienced that, the next group of words that could escape my lips would also be a phrase that nobody has ever uttered.
So much poetry, so much magic, so much beauty... this version definitely gives me goosebumps, along with the live version of RIP Burn Face. Sierra, Bianca & Tez are true performers.
I first listened to this while shrooming, and I knew that Cocorosie knew all of the secrets to life.
Do they know how to replace an alternator on a '92 Chevy Lumina?
@@chim-choo-ree lmao
@@chim-choo-ree honestly, I doubt it.
@@TheRonster9319honestly I don’t doubt it. These two sisters are from a land much more evolved than this
@@clevermissfox you're telling me they come from a more evolved land that just happens to have the exact same make and model of a '92 Chevy Lumina and they just so happen to know how to change that specific alternator? TBH DOUBT IT.
this vid is one of the best things they've done. everything about is is totally perfect and shows how freaking talented they are. and how bianca suddenly 4:15 grabs the clarinet and totaly NAILS it..!
Holy shit, this is beyond twisted, Its not average, Its like underground twisted dope fairytale style kind of thing, what a imprevisible talent
Earths massacre by humans mind controlled elementals left to fix and subject to dna mutations by our doings esp nuclear
listen to "werewolf" lolol
I love it. I love how intense it gets, how it grabs you and holds you. Not many songs can do it. For me anyway.
Bianca sounds nothing like Bjork. She may have the most unique voice since Bjork, but is in a different world. Cocorosie are awesome and have opened my mind to music like no one in recent years.
yes.
She sounds similar to Joanna Newsom, I think? If I spelled that right..
very proto-grimes, though... but as a huge bjork fan i will say they have a similar voice cadence
Live is so much better than the studio recording
+mrdeclansir i know right? i wasnt a big fan of the original, but this one damn
I arrived back here, again, somehow.
To have that Angels voice touch my soul, until times decree she be heard again.
I'm so amazed by this I can't even say anything else.
Holy Fucking talent ....
This soothes my Coronavirus anxiety
I'm a kindergarten teacher freaking the fuck out because I went back to work last month and a bunch of my kids are sick and singing along to this and a few other artists has been really helping me cope.
@@barbara-holley Awesome.
Opera singer-harper is absolutely stunning, I know this track about 10 years and still love it
Rarely there is an artist that sounds this heavenly... What's even more strange is that their live material is way better than their album stuff. At least for me. I love you all so much!!
2024 and I love this song now and forever!
still amazing in 2019
The affected creepy baby on acid voice is so unnecessary and frankly, mind blowingly annoying. Apart from that, very enjoyable.
lmao
@@yaznool I hate her voice so much! and its so fake!!!! I dont get why anyone here is "moved" by it.
They inspire me for my poems. I love them!
me too c:
Yeah definitely, real piles of shit
" I feel like an emotional jellyfish right now " yeah totally! me too
Me! Every freaking time !!!!!
True Musician, period.
There not everyone's taste and at times can be quite difficult to listen too, but I think lyrically they are fantastic and creatively there isn't anything like them and I really respect that... Werewolf is another song by them and in my eyes it's a modern masterpiece...
2:07! that was unexpected.
beautiful.
+Joel Cernas She was studying to be an opera singer before they formed CocoRosie
Absolutely beautiful.
looks away
"whos singing like an angel bet its that's chick with the harp"
looks to confirm suspicion
When she breaks out that opera voice it just stirs my very soul.
I find this one to be the best song I ever heard this century.
I agree
Yes, but the original song, is less magical than this version. Live is perfect :3
Dalia Pinto I don't think I've ever had that many goosebumps in 6 minutes
Did you listen the original version? I think isn't incredible than this.DØPΛMINE
Dalia Pinto I did, but luckily I listened to this version first so that magical effect was even bigger for me
Favorite version of this song by far!! Gives me goosebumps every time!!
Sierra is the beauty to Bianca's incredible stories, I will always love them as an all time favorite forever. So beautiful and unique.
That girl is legit playing a children's toy wth but I love it
You mean the clarinet??
Hahaha no they probably mean the kids toy she’s playing with....
I feel like these ladies are so completely open emotionally and creatively that they give songs names like Fairy Paradise without the slightest bit of irony. That's pretty fucking cool if you ask me.
Why there should be irony in the first place? Of course they would give their song the fitting title...cause that's their song? Art is for emotional and creative freedom... No offfence, but your comment is slightly cringe.
@@yevgeniyaleshchenko849 have you considered that they may be speaking from a context within a more mainstream music industry influenced upbringing? They like it, and for a good reason, that's all that matters really.
Surreal beauty to my ears
My fiend Corrie Anne showed me this video and it changed my life. RIP Corrie Anne
still amazing in 2021 and then 2022
I cried when I heard this the first time. The world looked strikingly different once I knew it was possible for something to be this beautiful. Suddenly, I was brave enough to live in a place where things could be as ugly as they'd always been. Determined to spend the rest of my life turning over stones until I find more. Fuck a wasted life.
beautiful
I feel you man in 2019! I love them so much. If I won a million bucks I’d die absolutely die for them to play at my festival grounds. I feel so many people need Cocorosie right now.
wow, your comment could be a poem.
May you uncover many treasures

su voz me hace acordar a Björk..

I'm guessing it's deliberate.
Totaaaaal, pensé lo mismo
❤🔌 ❤Specially this one 2023 amazing.. ))))))))))
I hated this at first, now I'm addicted
Me too
This song takes all the pain out of me...
But at the end of the song I feel empty so I press the repeat button. And I've been doing it for the last 9 years or so.
Some kind of dark love.
One of the rarest performances and Oh So Beautiful...even after all these years✨️

Prophetic song for this planet....or our existence on it. 💔
So much talent and it's live. Why isn't this on iTunes or SoundCloud?
not bankable...too risky! ^^
Her opera voice really is beautiful
When we die, I think we all will remember this song as we go to wherever or whatever you believe in

*CHILLS*
Sierra is so gad damn amazing...
This version is the single best thing I've ever heard from them... Next, next, next level.
Absolutely stunning piece. 12 years after, I keep listening
She's like the love child of Fever Ray and Joanna Newsom!!
I just can't get into this. I want to. but, the talk-singing is just not good.. too awkward. just my opinion though. still talented musicians.
Aghhh, I'm crying! Oh my gosh, beautiful!
It’s like she sings about human extinction, and as the world being so corrupt the little fairies die because they see how evil humans are.
2019?!

I've only just discovered CocoRosie. I just adored them on first listen! Fairy Paradise followed by Gallows my favourites but love them all.
When music finds people 🧨🧨🧨
Dios mio, siempre que oigo esto se me pone la piel de gallina cuando canta Sierra
I'm a musician since 48year...
but i always like special music..
deep...real...
This might not be used for make people dance in a discothek....
But i found it a time ago her on youtube...and bought the cd minutes later on ebay...
great...
hope they are doing well.
love& peace
Way better then the recorded version. It’s also on another level watching them preform in this manner... each of them is so invested that their expressions alone make me question my life.
Bjork called. She wants her voice back.
I actually prefer the talk singing to the opera singing as it just adds to the unique feeling cocorosie have.
Its like magic...in my pants.
2022 y seguimos escuchando está maravillosa obra.
wow I loved this divinity sounds is not likely to humans is that song is by two Angeles kocorosi
11 years late, here I am discovering this...experience.
ORGANIC SOUNDS. So moving.
I just remember that, and maybe for the shock of the sting of the 3 bees in my skin the bees are a common topic in my mind, I used to play with my toys near the plants, now I can barely notice them like usually do
remind me of johanna newson (?
+Carcosa they're both cocorosie and newsom considered in the new weird america concept
Don't watch this on acid...
Did you come down yet?
this performance is just great
the singer looks like a tiger. and its beautiful. her voice is like a real fairy. out of all hip hop pop songs, this is the best.
I cryed so much listening to this
The 5th element vibes from the harpist
👉🏽4:52 I really cry! 😢
I love more this version than the album version
I love them both tbh the album version is more dance it's amazing but this version is more relaxing and kinda puts you in a trance!
