Thank you for an excellent reading, though it took me a while to get used to the American accent. If I were a new reader of Somerset Maughan, I'd start with his short stories. Some of them are very funny and others are not; but SM is a brilliant writer. On UA-cam you can hear him read his own short story ' The three fat women of Antibes'. It's wonderful to listen to
Hello! I'm a member of the Maugham family due to my fathers side of the family and some how Mr William somerset Maugham is related to me in my blood line
Dankeschön. Yes, I read the book, but never really finished it. But I liked it - still like it - and since I found another novel of Maugham at a friend's house, I wanted to give it another try.
Hello Ma Li, thanks for subscribing! I will be glad to be interesting for you! I do not want to be annoying, but maybe you are interested in some specific audiobook, genre or author?
Hilariously dreadful. Full marks though to the valiant narrator voicing Susie as one of those dolls/teddy bears that squeak when pressed. The book has to be a satire of all things Gothic/Magick/supernatural and Romantic, but fails dismally.
Thank you so much for listening and commenting! I have nothing new to say to you, once again I want to repeat, clarify and remind you: the audiobooks of the Librivoch project, read by volunteers from around the world and from different professions - this is not an excuse, but so for understanding. Volunteers of the project give us their voices and their time, bringing back in sound literary works of the past, and we are eternally grateful to them for that!
@@AGoodchannel The intention may be laudable - but the results are terrible. I can’t imagine anyone sitting through a book read by one of your volunteers. Surely, there must be a condition or two they must fulfill before being allowed to read? Some of them don’t seem to understand what they are reading. Lots of mispronouncing, wrong emphasis etc.
The reader is excellent, easy to listen to and distinguishes the characters. He is a pleasure to listen to.

Very well read..although the female characters sounded a bit silly. The rest was very well done indeed.
Thank you for your feedback!

Ghastly narration. Philistine 🇦🇺
Thank you for a good reading. But I still feel so much sadness for tens of thousands killed animals for fun. And such crimes were named 'sport"!
Crowley, rhymes with holy. correct pronunciation.

Find a good biography of Crowley and his acolytes. They played themselves even more broadly.
An American reader is completely wrong. Should be an English reader. I pity those who enjoyed the this rather amateurish reading.
