Back then the phone-a-friend was often trying to search the answer (boo!) and the computer would be too slow. You can often even hear the clickety-clack.

It happened a lot. Clickety-clack clickety-clack. Ruins the game. And the person probably knew it anyway, but want listening or trusting themselves.
And so the dumbing-down trouble began

Scott had his buddy the googler as the lifeline but it was a super difficult word to spell and he ran out of time. Could've just googled Dec 2000 volcano eruption and would've had the answer. He wasted time getting him to give the exact spelling.

It's a not always a good idea to Google when in a phone-a-friend call. It takes a little too long to do that.

@@matthaddock1817 Uh no it doesn't. You just have to know how to google. Like I said there's key things you search for. These people just wanted to type out the question word for word. That's not going to find you the answer. Plus the people reading the questions are over confident thinking their buddy the googler is going to find it easy and they end up reading so slow.

That strange quiet dude reminds me of my father. I hate that kind of creepy personality. I developed that same kind of personality when I was young and it took me years to overcome it. It also created nothing but trouble for many years. I am very happy that I am not that guy any more.

the episode is shortened because of GSN’s time compression, it usually is 44 minutes but it's shortened to 42 because GSN loves commercials.

    • @seikibrian8641

How is it bullshit? You can have a local or a long distance conference call, and call waiting isn't a requirement. You can use a speakerphone when calling one other person, and you don't necessarily need it for a conference call. What makes a conference call a conference call is that three or more people are participating in the call.
