As much as I admire the musicianship, talent, etc., etc., etc. (not to mention the good looks!) of Lugansky, I am afraid that I am partial to the 1982 Pletnev recording of the 1st. (and that is not considering the mistake at the end by Lugansky - it happens!)

I´m a great fan of both Trifonov and Lugansky but in my opinion this interpretation is the modern benchmark for this beautiful Concerto.

probably lady nadine Fischer talks about Pletnev´s live recording, - is on youtube....I think mr. Lugansky plays way way clearer up here...
