The rattle can paint on these vintage vises drives me absolutely nuts. Looks nice though I suppose. Cool video 😊 Subscribed 🫡 love saving old vises etc.
That came out nice....I just picked up a REED 103.... I went to an Estate Sale and came home with a half ton. tHanks for the video (Mine has Pat December 24 1912 on it..I'll film it soon). Have a great weekend!
That was in perfect condition for its age but now it looks the part. I just wanted to mention from your last video how genius it was to use a freeze plug I don’t know what made you come up with that idea but it’s a perfect solution!
😒I really don’t wanna like reeds… 😄that would mean liking all of them, 🧐but that smashed meatball esthetic is so signature, and cool. Thanks for the detailed collar disassembly. will help when I find one worth saving. Great 👍 video. 👏
Greetings from Alabama! Beautiful works my friend. I learned so much. I have a very similar job in my future. Thanks so much for your excellent video. Subscribed!
Great job on this vice as well. I have always been a fan of JBW, but to me it seems Bondo would be better for smoothing over the rough areas of the cast. Have you ever tried that? If so, did you like or not like the results. Nice work! 🔧 🔨 ⚙️
I've never used Bondo as I have never had any on hand, so that is why I always use JB Weld. I am going to try it out on my next vise project as I am curious to how it performs Thank you!
The welding was great no signs of weld at all great job 👏

As opposed to what type of finish? Automotive paint? Powder coat?
Nice repair on the mounting hole. The color is awesome and the deep red looks great on that old vise. Nicely done
