- Traditional Farewell Ceremony
Bula Harry! Bula Megan!
You can hear Fijians screaming out as they saw The Duke and Duchess of Sussex wave from their vehicle.
The Republic of Fiji with His Excellency the President Major-General (retired) Jioji Konrote, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama with and other Cabinet ministers held a Traditional Farewell Ceremony in Nadi for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Crowds of people showed up in numbers with their Fiji and British flags together with their mobile phones to catch a glimpse of the royal couple that have recently flooded the news feed of every Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and twitter account in Fiji.
-Unveiling of the Late Sgt. Talaiasi Labalaba statue
It was an emotional moment for many Fijians as The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry unveiled the statue commemorating Sergeant Talaiasi Labalaba.
Also present at the unveiling was His Excellency the President Major-General (retired) Jioji Konrote, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama and the son of the late Talaiasi Labalaba - Isaia Dere.
Labalaba who was involved in the Battle of Mirbat on July 19th 1972 - fired a 25 pounder single handedly in spite of being seriously wounded against attacking guerrilla forces.
The Special Air Service (SAS) Sergeant was shot dead at the age of 30.
Diana’s spirit radiates from her handsome son. Wonderfully done! 💕🙋🏻♀️
🙌Unbelievable gracious people. Here's hoping they, Fiji, always remain as kind and joyous.🤞
The Figian people are so humble and kind. They're beautiful.
Beautiful beautiful ceremony you could feel the deep sentiment of the president as he was giving his speech it was touching.
Sybil Francois absolutely beautiful... rightly said, it's a moving ceremony
Fiji is breathtakingly beautiful. One of the craziest hotels I've ever seen UNDER THE OCEAN!!! Can you imagine sleeping and then waking up to a huge fish or whale just casually swimming in front of you and you laying there like Nemo.....We could learn from Fiji and it's people. Respect🙏
Fiji is now on my bucket list. Thanks to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
I have heard many great things about Fiji and the people there, it has always been a place i’ve been wanting to visit and now i’m more eager to go there. God bless Harry and Meghan and the people of Fiji.
It looks like Meghan is absolutely enjoying every minute of it smiling away!
Thank you Fiji for your wonderful hospitality. I hope that many people will come visit and experience your beautiful island and people.

Hello Fijian I didn't know your Country exist but through Meghan and Harry I now know your rich Land.. God bless them

It’s customary to bow to people regardless out of respect for station/status.
Being, Fijian- myself. I was taught by my Grandmother, Mother and Aunts that it was the correct protocol when addressing my elders/members of family or certain members in society🤷🏽♀️
When I visit family members in Fiji or anywhere else they may be in the world m. I conform to the traditions expected of me that show I have “manners” lol
Their words not mine. I’m fine with it. I suppose cause I was taught the “old way” it’s just second nature to me now.
That said, it’s not a “subservient” thing. It’s just a tradition that people raised to the “old ways” would generally apply to situations like this. It’s been done even before the British came along.
As you can see, haha. Some people do it, some don’t 🤷🏽♀️
@Diane Allen West
Oh 😊 I know that. I wasn’t at all offended. I apologise if I came off as rude 😅 I just thought I’d explain in case others assumed some (white washed) people did it out of some misplaced loyalty to our Colonizers.
I admit, I myself am not at all a Monarchist. In fact, I kind of wish it was just Countries of the Commonwealth coming together or members outside of it forming new alliances to get away from...remanants of the past.
Just thought I’d watch this out of respect to the beautiful Duchess 😁
I agree with you on that last point. That was beautifully said.
@@birdiemax2693 I am disagree with your wish. Such people deserve much respect and that is how we Pacific islanders we do it. But thanks for your concern
I love their ways, they are really traditional PEOPLE. woooooo!!!!.👍👍✌✌✌👌👌👌🌹🌹💋💋💋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋
My darling Harry you are blessed and highly favoured despite that I do not have opportunity to meet your loving mother all my life in England I love her to bit I wept like a baby when she passed your inward spirit is typical Diana every love care support I mean genuine love of your mother is you the way you care for your wife and your humbleness toward both old and young your mother lives in you and choose a wife for you through Christ our lord may God continue us to be and protect you both and your loving brother and his wife I pray that the love your mother want for both of you will be so strong that her spirit will be and always happy for both of you
Well said, I was thinking that everything about him is 100% genuine
Wonderful.message from the heart
Thank you. I was not aware of the history , with respect to the statue. Interesting and informative 👏
Elaine Bines..oh..yes..it's one the Highest historical value of life that Sgnt. Labalaba gallantly reached. Fiji has a richly proud military acievement like him that makes us Honor life when it matter the most..
never heard of fiji.thanks harry and megan to give me this precious apportunity.love you the best because you are amazing both of you.i love men's skirts here in those pictures.
She’s looks stunning and gorgeous.
Is there any corner of the earth melanin people haven't inhabited? Beautiful, harmonious way of life. I hope to visit one day!
White people have melanin as well, It is responsible for tanning of skin exposed to sunlight.
So I guess most corners of the earth have been inhabited.
Nawww! It’d be wonderful to have you here, beautiful! 😊😘
Me too! What wonderful people.
Have never seen such graciousness on display 🧡Where have you been all my life Fiji? 😉
Janelle Charles what foundation information you based from?..if God then good, if not..then stop it
So proud of Fijan people
Such a beautiful and momentious occasion for the Fijians like all Pacific Islanders who support the commenwealth and the platform to support good work by those in the community. This was bigger than Harry and Megan and they did not realise this priviledge and wonderful opportunity.
Now, I want to marry a Fijian gentelman but he has to be as humble as those I have seen here
@Ants vtrova of course 😁
Very humble people indeed the Fiji may the almighty God bless the people of that Fiji and Harry and Meghan
@@bridgetmudehwe4772 Amen!

Yeah Fiji blessed with a lot of nature beauty..beautiful island also... All green and fresh air...
haarshan haarshan just beautiful region country side
I love the way he making sure his wife is ok watching her step haters will suffer
Talaiasi Labalaba should have been given the V.C. as his actions saved the lives of others and the position.
They cant because Operation Jaguar is so secret that only the elites that rule Britannia knows the reason.
That was true then but everyone now knows of the event.
Arthur Wellesley ...one day, VC will be accorded to Sergnt. Labalaba...it will come, wether it's secret or coveredly known.
@@simionenauluvula7981 you have no clue about that operation mate, they will never award VC, because they do not want the sleeping souls of this world, to recognise it's purpose.
Arthur Wellesley ....you bullshit! One day soon, the law will favour the VC Honor to LABALABA. The British now, is reviewing it's military law where women can enlist to a very challenging and elites role. So man made laws and man do change it too. It's coming! The time is coming. It's not what you know about the result of reward but it's about the 'life act's that rewards the result... Fiji does not need your input, we need people who values life..and the life of LABA will not be in vain. He deserved the Highest reward
Harry handles him self wonderful
Meghan wife nice
respect , the warriors look very strong race
We are the true Israelites.
I luv Fiji
What a chic, demure dress the Duchess is wearing. Wholly appropriate.
Isaa...oh..this statue of this courageous war hero.. will be a symbol of boldness and courage to all those who visit it. What a Brave son of Fiji...befitting well to what the President of Fijis message, that many Fijians that gone out of Fiji in military assignment, 'never to return back' I can Sense the president voice was just so deeply emotion with such a historic of vailour occasion... Fijis son's have had given their life's for the common values of goods and peace... The unveiling of Sergeant Talaiasi Labalabas statue will be a witness to the whole world what our son's and daughters in uniform can offer to the world...Thank You..and Vina Du Riki.. Sergeant Labalaba your sacrifice is forever etched in our hearts forever.may God Bless Fiji, and it's people, and those who served to defend the Queen... Vinaka... Beautiful story indeed!
We shoudn't be fighting this scumbags war in the first place pal.
Arthur Wellesley ..pal..whatever happened we cannot change it..in war or in peace..secret or uncover.. when it happened, only Him and his unit armforce knows what lies ahead, we Fijian are proud of Him..I once served with the French legion army...n..I'm proud 4 that.. Bro...if you wanna stop it, tell the Queen.. because you can't stop any Fijian to his coarse of direction and Honor of assignment...wether in miltary, work, education or sport, we always rise up to the occasion, so stop your big mouth..if you cannot give your life for others..ok!.. people like you..is just suck... Just enjoy your privacy and Harmony...
@@simionenauluvula7981 For they are called Legions for there a many of em. Lucifar the Legionaire🤔🤔🤔
Arthur Wellesley ...I don't care what's your thoughts on us Fijians, as I said already, you can't change us, just change your mind to honor someone's life, I'm proud to be a legionnare..and I like to rid off lucifer like you...😂😂😂 Hahaaaaa... don't mind it Brother! m sorry if I offend you. But my point is, Fijians are honour their call of duties...that's who we are, and I appreciate your idea, but history is history and reality is reality...let's just learn to honor life..who paid the utmost sacrifice.. remember lucifer is cunning, false peacemaker..try to see it in both sides, if you can't, then the legion you mentioned earlier, is your commorades...peace to you!
@@simionenauluvula7981 Well said and well done for defending you country and culture. That's your identity.
God bless this couple. We appreciate them
I just love the subtittle
It would have been nice to have english subtitles during the parts where Fijian people spoke or sang in their native language.
Love the dress . Its looks lovely on u Duchess Meghan and ur handsome prince Harry looks handsome , I love how u take his own time to show his wife the step,

Nice farewell.
Blessing !!! WAOUH great moments
Glory to God for Labalaba.
Glory to God for Vatutu and Nawaka and FIji.
Operation Jaguar has a dirty lil secrets only the elites knows its purposes.
Arthur Wellesley ...hey.. what you talking about, y.. you always interfere in the value of our late fellow beloved countryman? It's secret kept then becos of the SAS strong position. But now, the Revelation is widely known. If you can't do anything to Laba's ultimate reward, then shut your mouth
makario jope kavoa ...I fully support that.. brother! We will remember him always!!!
@@simionenauluvula7981 did you do anything at all.
Arthur Wellesley yes...and you
I tried to get a statue like that for Coach John Olive of Tullahoma High School for his achieving State 4A Championship of High School Football win against Elizabethtown Tn. It took him 30 years of coaching and finally accomplished the goal. This is my Tullahoma Campaign not of a Civil War but of a social war against grown ups who would rather go to war and kill instead of playing football or Billiards. A simple Bronze statue to make Tullahoma Tennessee the Olive Garden of Allah's youth.
HRH Harry is the sh!t! He’s the real deal. These two could really solve world peace. Many blessings upon them.
Wow. Wonderful. Just saw this after the disaster carribean tour.
I. Am. Very. Happy. For. Harry. And. His. Wife. Meagan. Good. Life. For. Them
I luv H n M
It would have been nice to have english subtitles during the parts where Fijian people spoke or sang in their own native language.
Just to sum it up for you, it was a traditional farewell ceremony thanking the Duke and Duchess for visiting Fiji and the traditional dance along with the chants was basically about acknowledging the ancestors.
farewell to you!
what they are saying? wwwooow
Fiji ho thank you Harry and Meghan peoples prince and princess
That’s all the relative of Megan 👦🏾👦🏾👦🏾👦🏾
They're beautiful just as she is.
You trying to be funny? Who's Megan? It's Meghan & didn't you mean relatives.
So you know she's very proud to be related to them. Beautiful people. Don't be too jealous hater
Yes.. Lovely aren't they..
She is one of us so what? And we are so proud of her.
Keep them. We do not want them
Prince Harry why wasnt Sgt Labalaba honoured with the Victoria Cross medal instead of that shitty MID medal. shockingthis is...
The British government should first declassify that mission and we can start talking about awarding a VC. As it stands now it's still a black op mission.
@@georgetuisawau4781 Only the dark rulers of this world knows it's secret mate.
George Tuisawau ...if so, then what's the need to form the special forces of Britain in the 1st place..it's not necessarily about the black mission or what, it's about life given up for the coarse...the only thing Britain should do is to analyse again the meaning of elite and in any situation given..just like any law of a clear miltary obligation, 'leadership' uphed the life of those in mission'..wether a clear task or a black task..cos the life is what that importantly deals with here first, then the task of operations is second. That's why the VC medal is worth for the Human life and not the task handed..the human makes the task completed..so that's the point of a strong recommendation of a VC reward in the highest valuable manner just like the value of the highest special forces role.
Simi you didnt understand the gist of my reply. Operation Jaguar was a classified mission ( top secret) and is yet to be declassified. That's why Laba was awarded a Mentioned in Despatches ( MID) medal posthumously. We all know that he should be awarded a VC. Since the powers that be hasn't done anything to declassify operation jaguar it's still a black operation and in lay mans term it never happened.
George Tuisawau yeah...I got your point now bro, but still it's a two ways thing. We all know that the elites or special unit is secret. As it always be, there 4, the Highest authority should redefined the mandate of secret mission. Once they established the real role it was meant 4, then life should be highly valued given the highest secret obligation. I think it's about reviewing the laws! Well, to be declassified.. it will come down to value that matters.. because we are living in the 21st centuries, many military acts around the world has acclimatised itself to the value of purpose. That's all. It will take the whole package to redifined a situation, but life should always be supreme valued in any situation of reality
