Another way of putting it, are the PS s assigned according to the BE degree or the MSc degree

Yes! They get a lot of time to join all types of clubs! Like I said, except 3rd year, every other year has time for you to explore yourself and join the clubs and depts of your liking!

Hey devansh i am going to write bitsat 2021 so my concepts and practise level is not great but i have a decent basics and i am not interested in jee main and advance i just want admission in bits goa
You have enough time bro , just do your basics of every chapter rather than very complex advanced or even hard mains level questions while practicing. The paper is based very much on basics and dormula. I made the mistake of focusing too much on some things , and not reading a few chapters , due to which I got less marks(260).

Hi! yes, I was interested in astronomy ever since I was a kid! So, I knew going into physics was the right choice for me. That and since I was also interested in CS, I worked hard in my first year to get CS as my dual degree. As for my BITSAT score, I don't remember, but it was something around 310

@@22YearsInAzkaban see, physics in reality is very very different than what you do in JEE. That is mostly related to mechanics, fluids, etc. More importantly, what you do there is basically just play around with various versions of Newton's laws, that's it. Once MSc. Physics starts, you will be learning much more fundamental things like Lagrangian, Hamiltonian, Principle of least action, etc. What matters in Physics is whether your understanding of concepts is good or not, you will not be expected to mug up any equations whatsoever. So if you think your understanding of physics is strong, then you should def go for it. Personally, in JEE, my math was the strongest, I did not do that good in physics too, but I knew my core concepts were strong, so I took the leap.
As for astronomy, Astrophysics, etc specifically... There is an amazing club on campus called SEDS Celestia, which has like minded seniors who will help you learn and know and discuss more about your passion in the field!
@@nikhilbisht152 this is amazing. The exact answer I was looking for... My interest for physics is immense but the question of is it worth it is always bothering me. I'm not an overachiever, so I find immense insight in knowing that following your interests will be fruitful. My goal is physics + cs as well, as I want to get into Quantum computing. And with a bitsat score of around 280 I may just get the exact course I want MSc in physics. Giving up the other cs seats in the other colleges is what bothers me and my parents. But your answers clear things up for me and I am very grateful!

As for Quantum Computing, there are 2 electives offered by the physics department called Quantum Information Computing (QIC) and Quantum Information Theory (QIT) which you can take in your 2md and 3rd years! We also have a great network of around 200 students across all 3 campuses Interested in QC whom you can contact once you join BITS! :)
How is the faculty like in bits goa?
Hey um i just had a doubt as to whether there is an option of completing an Msc Physics course in BITS without haing to study for 5 years? That is to say without the BE degree and instead just opt for a single degree of physics? OR is it compulsory to take Msc Physics as a part of a dual degree program?
BITS Goa provides a physics minor that can be taken along with your BE degree. But I am not sure if you can get the MSc Phy degree with a BE degree in 4 years. Let me confirm though once.

I have written my bitsat in 2020 and am planning to apply for a dual degree.
I am interested in taking physics along with EEE in the following year.
But my parents are worried that the scope for jobs in EEE and physics are low and are encouraging me to take Maths and to try for CSE in the following year.

There are opportunities everywhere, its the lack of skilled people . Do what you love bro. Take phy at least , explore your interests in your first year and then decide on which branch you would want

Yes you can , you can either choose a single degree (4 yrs, 1 degree)or go for the dual option ( 5 yrs, 2 degrees)
