    Imo, this was by far one of the best narrow gauge gatherings we've seen in years.

    Cool video of Eureka & Palisade #4 and Glenbrook. I’m going to be visiting the Niles Canyon Railway on October 9th.

    What a perfect day to arrive in San Francisco is a 19th century iron horses from Dynamo Production. Sound of the chuffing is really well done.

    An excellent video, about a fantastic event. Great to see and hear these steam locomotives.
    Evidence of the history of the railways in the 19th century can still be seen alive.💖😊🎥👍👍👍

    Firing anything up Cumbres Pass is a workout, but these wood burners basically vaporize everything you throw in them when they're working, non-stop adding wood they probably used most of that tender on the day.

    amazing video!! also, does anyone know why glenbrook's tender doesn't have any writing on the sides?

    11:14 Note the brief little confetti of unburnt wood or hot ashes.

      There's pretty much always a shower of cinders from wood burners (coal too), that's the purpose of the funky looking stacks, is there are spark arrestors inside that should keep stuff inside until they cool enough not to be red hot anymore.

    I'm just now thinking this, but they should have brought in D&RGW 346! They might have if it was operational.

      the spark arrestor exhaust on of the locos is what makes the difference

    When the locomotive is setting still and makes a chugging sound what is making/causing that noise?

    I take it Dan isn't used to double heading much

    See the new biomass fueled locomotives that promise to make freight rail carbon neutral.

    Nice video! How do they avoid losing their fingers with link and pin couplers?

    I love seeing double head steam trains. But I'm wondering one thing. Why did it take a double head to pull that train when one loco could have done it?

    • @DynamoProductions-trains
      @DynamoProductions-trains  9 місяців тому +1

      Absolutely wrong. The 4% grade was too much for both of these locomotives to handle even with a train this small - keep in mind just how old and how small these engines are.
