I've never used ProGrip or any other grip enhancer while training. I saw it here on this video and thought I would give it a try. Holy smokes! How have I been shooting this long without it! Real game changer in general, but it will come in handy in the Texas summer. If you haven't, you should give it a try.

Sir. Can I just say thank you for a little nugget of info you put in here? At one point you said a lot of guys have their grips too far forward on their rails and should actually move them back alittle bit. I had always wondered why I got so fatigued so fast and why my body was so uncomfortable. I moved my grip like 1 1/2 mlok slots back and it has made a WORLD of difference. Thank you.
New to firearms ownership outside of 22 rifles and pistols. I REALLY appreciate your videos and your no nonsense approach. There's a rapidly growing number of guys and gals who have committed to learning how to shoot due to the "climate" of our country lately. A lot of us may be initially intimidated about being inexperienced at the range in fear of doing something foolish or even dangerous. I feel like your videos bring a perfect balance in the instruction. Thank you!!!
Spray adhesive for quickly putting up new targets, and I also have a 15 yard hank of paracord with a magnetic hook and knots tied at 3, 5, 7, 10, and 12 yards for easy yard marking if I'm on a range that doesn't have it already marked. I also have a laser range finder, but the hank gets used more and is inexpensive.
In addition to the IFAK, bring a snivel kit (first aid kit with bandaids, meds, and blister care), 1 roll of athletic tape, bug repellant, sunscreen, and decent shooting gloves. If you are likely to get wet or wash your hands outdoors, a backpacking towel is a thing of beauty. I also suggest a cheap paint can opening tool on a lanyard for extracting cases stuck in the chamber and a sectional cleaning rod for when there is no part of the rim to grab onto. If shooting prone, a shooting mat is nice, too (the Magic Carpet is a nice one). I would also suggest bringing a couple of extra magazines for each firearm. It's good to have spares in case a magazine becomes inoperative for one reason or another.
Drew and Steven are amazing teachers. Great Great people, I am honored to know them and to have been instructed by them. I am that guy that brought the full tool kit. Gunsmith and certified armorer in several weapon systems. Replaced batteries and fixed some guns in class, glad I could. Learned a lot and applying those same concepts today. Thank you again Drew.

Interesting ideas this video presented. Id show up to a class similar to the retro a.l.i.c.e. system for a rifle or a pistol class. Is even show yo to a class with Harbor freight and tool ear muffs and plugs cause im not gonna spend a million dollars on SF gear. I like keeping handtools for gas and diesel engines with a manual tire changer. Im always side hustling from ny truck😂
As a student, if I'm driving to the class vs flying I always try to bring extra. Spare gun, for pistols maybe a couple with holsters, timer and stapler like you said to help make the class more efficient, extra sunscreen and bug spray, ammo, and a cooler full of water, food, and other drinks. I want to be able to offer that stuff to others as well as having plenty for me. Forgot your sunscreen? I got you. Ran out of water or need some caffeine, go get into that cooler. Gun goes down? That sucks, here you go, etc. I want people to keep taking classes and I want instructors to want to come back to be hosted, I want everyone to have a positive experience.
Toilet paper is more important than anything😂 Also, I have an extra BCG. A tooth broke on me one during a shooting package in Okinawa and it would cause my rifle to “double fire” sometimes with one squeeze of the trigger.
If you have the ability to take a Baer solutions course highly recommend it. I’ve taken two on cqb and medical course drew is a great instructor and all others instructors are awesome. Very knowledgeable and really cares for their students to get the most out of their courses. And if you take a medical course Paul does a great job
The notebook is nice if you have time to scribble the notes down. I've been in a couple shorter classes where we were rockin' and rollin' and I would have probably missed exercises if I stopped to take notes. I agree with you that you shouldnt have to provide a full detailed breakdown, but it might be nice if instructors could at least meet in the middle and give out a handout or something that has the high points so I could scribble notes in a more organized fashion to supplement the knowledge.
Annoys me when ppl say "You don't need all that gear!" & then turn around advocating setting up your gear how you want & that best fits what you need lol I've got 3 taco mag holder on my belts. They hold both pistol & rifle mags. Yet I know, in a real fire fight, you're going to be asking me for mags when you're dry.. I get there's such a thing as too much gear. There's also such a thing as just enough..
Grip Chalk, its also a safety thing. Sustained periods of firing drills in class vs the few shots you'd take in a self defense scenario. People won't have their range glasses in the real world either...
I would very much appreciate any range anywhere that would allow for food/drink on the property. Good golly. We're responsible people, aren't we? Doesn't everyone usually sweep up their spent casings and make sure the place is presentable before leaving? I'm betting it took one bad instance from a beginner to implore the 'no food/drink' thing everywhere. I'm not saying set a huge flimsy cup of soda in a precarious spot increasing the odds of knocking it over, but just have a designated area. (sigh) At least an accidental 'tradition' came about with my family that started with my folks and I kept it going. Shoot first. Lunch after. For some reason the hour at a range makes me hungry like after swimming for a bit. So I guess it's not all bad I'll have to tidy up then head to wherever the taste buds lead me.
Grip chalk, good idea. I just started with pistols so I go to public indoor ranges, a group next to me was renting and a lady firing a semi-automatic pistol dropped it over the table into the lane. It didn't go off of course, but it did end up with the barrel pointing back at everyone.
Regarding notes, i find it also very important because if you can’t remember the lesson to practice it’s a waste, but I’ve fond it hard time wise. Anytime an instructor talks and demonstrates the drill, we are already on the line with our weapons ready to run it. So when do you recommend taking notes just at lunch?
Two things - first, don't forget some way to brew coffee. Second, how are those Noizebarrier Micros in heat? Muffs can get seriously hot, so I've considered them but they cost more than my Otto Range muffs, so it's not an easy decision.
If someone does need to zero before a class because they don't have somewhere to do it at home, would it be acceptable to show up early to get the zero?
Would you mind sharing the name/website/bizz that makes those rifle cases inserts? I had a hard time understanding this during the latter part of the video. TYVM!
Any luck finding it on Gunformz's website? I found "AR 10/ 15 Pelican Vault V730 V8" and think that's the top layer, but can't find the bottom layer...

I really like spray glue and spray paint .
whats your opinion on tallon grips for glocks ?
Good idea is a lens wipe for your eye pro/optics. Humidity sucks and rain sucks and a lens wipe can be helpful
The chair....most important:)
Thank you for your advices, i found lead wipes but for the grip shock is the write spelling ?
It's liquid chalk.
@@brianshuler6951 Thank you, Sir
I leave a cleaning rod in my bag for a stuck casing or squib
I think my girl might have some of that same grip chalk in her dresser drawer.
Any pistol class or rifle class I've been to I've always used my pocket to put my magazines lol
Scopes or red dots? Or do they let you know what you should have?
what size skb case is that in the video?
Grip chalk, good idea. I just started with pistols so I go to public indoor ranges, a group next to me was renting and a lady firing a semi-automatic pistol dropped it over the table into the lane. It didn't go off of course, but it did end up with the barrel pointing back at everyone.
Thanks good info
Regarding notes, i find it also very important because if you can’t remember the lesson to practice it’s a waste, but I’ve fond it hard time wise. Anytime an instructor talks and demonstrates the drill, we are already on the line with our weapons ready to run it. So when do you recommend taking notes just at lunch?
Most take notes while we’re talking/explaining the drill, then fill them in while reloading or lunch.
A seperate bag for your ammo only. So your not lugging around your entire range bag to each shooting position
Sunscreen would be included in the essential items to bring, especially if your class is out in the desert.
Two things - first, don't forget some way to brew coffee. Second, how are those Noizebarrier Micros in heat? Muffs can get seriously hot, so I've considered them but they cost more than my Otto Range muffs, so it's not an easy decision.
@@PetrosArgy they work great for me. I really like them. Haven’t had any wind interference like a lot of the cheaper ones.
Where can we get the pasters and the paster gun
If someone does need to zero before a class because they don't have somewhere to do it at home, would it be acceptable to show up early to get the zero?
Is the bag waterproof or water resistant?
Seems like a dumb ones but can be handy is extra optic screws, spare bcg/bolt
Would you mind sharing the name/website/bizz that makes those rifle cases inserts? I had a hard time understanding this during the latter part of the video. TYVM!
Gunformz
@@baersolutions Thank you, sir
Any luck finding it on Gunformz's website? I found "AR 10/ 15 Pelican Vault V730 V8" and think that's the top layer, but can't find the bottom layer...
@@DaymDavid Same here... got stuck... also found that very pricey... looks like great qual... but for what I intend to use it for, and how abused it will get.. I rather go cheaper and cut it myself... looks great though
I like to show up in sandals with a 6 pack of Budweiser.🤷♂️😁
The Tacticon loadout?
@@kylegamer48Only a 6 pack? What about the rest of us?!?!
A good pair of gloves would be great to have.
What brand paint markers are those?
Mag Loader for pistol mags... save a lot of time

Any west coast training classes you offer????
Vegas and Utah are the closest
