Brilliant video and perfect timing for inspiration… just booked my first 50k in for June. Just beautiful scenery - really appreciate you filming and taking a moment to catch that glorious view!
@@runwithwoody It’s an easy one cos I’ll be wearing my L-plates. It’s loops of 5k - so nothing to carry, no worries about navigation (I can get lost running in a straight line) and all the nutrition is provided - even vegan. Not too many hills and a pretty non technical surface. Should be a great beginners Ultra in Sherwood Forest- home of Robin Hood.
Thanks Simon. I think I got exactly what I needed from the race. I'll talk more about that in the my race recap later in the week, but I think I am tracking OK for UTA.👍☺
another quality video Neil, the views where stunning and well done on winning your Age group in another event not just PR also you make running an Ultra look so easy
Cheers Bradley. I really enjoyed this one. I might have looked comfortable in the video, but it was a tough day. The course got the better of them towards the end, but it was a great hitout for UTA100.👍☺
Congratulations, Neil. You put in solid training and produced an impressive result. Congrats on the age group win as well. Keep running (I'm looking forward to the recap)...
Brilliant vid Neil, congratulations. New subscriber here - just starting out on my MAF training with the plan of my first Marathon later in the year. Would love a vid/your thoughts on how you plan race pace (like this event) when coming from a MAF training base? Do you target zones? Go off feel? Thanks again for the video content!! :D
Thanks for joining the channel Tim and I hope you pick up a tip or 2 along the way. I will incorporate your question into a future video, but for me on race day the MAF stays at home. It's a race and you want to do your best. On the roads over all distances, I'm going to push the boundaries a bit and see where it gets me. For the trails, I want to be as comfortable for as long as possible, so that means checking the pace right back, more walks on the hills, hydration/food etc. On the trails it's about keeping the fatigue at bay for as long as possible. Hope that helps a bit, i'll go into more depth in the video.👍☺
You've had so many massive runs recently that I have run out of superlatives @the_running_duck_effect : - ) This one must have felt extra special though because of that podium finish! Congratulations! Grateful that you ran with the camera Neil, we got to see all that spectacular scenery.
Cheers Bartek. Really just enjoying my running at the moment, despite the high mileage to get ready for UTA. This was a great course, tough, but an enjoyable one. The countdown for UTA has now begun. 👍☺
Congratulations Neil. Very inspirational 👏
Thanks so much, KM. And thanks for watching.👍☺
