      Please note that the battery capacity that is below 80% is considered as battery aging and may result in losing the ability to hold the charge so all you have to do is to replace with new battery for longer lifespan.

    For people wanting to do this, please make sure batteries are identical to each other in voltage, if not, charge them individually.
    Both batteries will drain down close to one and other, rather than one draining less than other and not getting fully charged, loosing mah's.

    Nice idea but there's some minor problem. First you must pair 2 battery with the same capacity for optimal operation, as one could have gone flat first (because of lower capacity) and the other have to charge the flattened and thus reduce the total capacity, second is you need to count for the battery wear level as they don't remain the capacity like before. And third is in the conversion stage there's some power losses in it, the battery pack you made could only fully charge an iphone for just once and then need recharging, not ideal but useful in some emergency situations. If you still want to do the iphone-battery power bank, at least do with the same battery model and with many battery as possible.

    Please tell why you removed the BMS ?
    The primary function of the BMS is to protect the battery cells from damage caused by being overcharged or over-discharged. Additionally, the BMS calculates the remaining charge, monitors the battery’s temperature, monitors the battery’s health and safety by checking for loose connections and internal shorts. The BMS also balances the charge across the cells to keep each cell functioning at maximum capacity.
    If it detects any unsafe conditions, the BMS shuts the battery down to protect the lithium-ion cells and the user.

Was wondering if the same case you used in the vid would be able to work for them or do certain powerbank boards work with certain mAh sizes. I'm new to this and curious how it all works, thanks 👍

  • @RyanAmparo-tl
    @RyanAmparo-tl 3 роки тому

    Very cool as a project, but aren't you replacing the phone battery because it is not good anymore in the first place? Using it in a powerbank would just make for a powerbank that doesn't hold much of a charge and needs to be recharged often? Specifically, if you use it on your iPhone, it would not even give it a full charge. A 10,000 mAh powerbank of that size can charge your iPhone at least 3 times.

      @@ecotechnologysolutions8329 just say you connect a 2000mah and a 1700mah cell in parallel. When you go to charge it the charger will only stop when it sees 4.2v. When you go to discharge there’s a chance the 1700mah cell can go below 3v while the larger cell is still at 3.5v. Because they’re in parallel the larger cell will be keeping the voltage up and working harder. Meanwhile the lower capacity cell can very likley go below low voltage. But just say it goes to 2v (very bad) the bigger cell is still 3.4v then the total output may only be 3.2v so you think everything is ok. But the low cell will discharge and possibly start taking large amounts of current from the larger cell because there’s no current limiting in place now. So on and so forth.
