I love her! I always admired her playing that part and being okay with being ugly and awkward in it. She's definitely not a traditional beauty but she seems to be happy with who she is. Her personality is amazing and she seems so down to Earth.
@@angelaatwood46 I have to agree, even in the movie I thought she had a look about her that actually stood out amongst the rest but 🤷♀️ people see buck teeth and glasses and they think ugly, dumb asses.

Welcome to the Dollhouse is one of my favorite movies ❤ I would really like to see Heather in a good film or show in the future, she doesn’t get enough credit for her acting abilities. She seems like a sweetheart too!

I initially saw "Welcome to the Dollhouse" on the IFC channel in the late '90s. It had more of an impact on me than Freddy Kruger, Beavis & Butt-Head or anything like that. It affected me because I felt as though I was living Dawn's life. I, too, was a misfit in school. Incidentally, because I wanted to be a filmmaker, almost everything on IFC captivated me.
I related to her so much in Welcome to the Dollhouse. My life was a lot like her in middle school/Jr high. The only difference is the parents. Her parents sucked in the movie, especially the mom. If it were me who defended myself in School my parents would be proud and they would set it off in that school for allowing me to be bullied.

It's such a sad movie tho...
@@tbh_idgad Yh it’s so dark, based on the harsh reality but that is why the movie is pretty good too and not a typical ending like usual
let's be honest here, there is no lovable character in welcome to the dollhouse. everybody is screwed up in the head in that movie, even Dawn.
