RIP Andre Braugher...his scenes with Laurie were always a highlight throughout this season.
Which character does he play?
Never mind I looked it up
they really were
Dr. Darryl Nolan, House's psychiatric doctor
In memory of Booger!
I felt that they backpedaled House's character quite a bit after this. He seemed more empathetic during the first 2 seasons in particular and we never got to see him there for Wilson as he was dying. His reaction to it would've been the ultimate climax: sadness, tears, emotions we've never seen from him
That said, he kinda has a point when he starts backpedaling: Everyone else in his life is happier, but he's still miserable and alone. Takes a very strong character to continue to push yourself to be a good person when the only result of that is you get taken advantage of.
@@darthimperious1594 Doesn't help that High Laurie has been quoted multiple times as saying as soon as Wilson dies, House would like make sure he follows.
@@MrBleachfreak247 Not until after he follows through on his promise for 13.
Seeing Alvie’s look at his best friend leaving and that moment of realization that “maybe taking meds like my friend will help me too” is in the top 3 moments for me of the entire series.
100% agree. These two episodes always make me so emotional
@@ACZiemba326
The first 2 episode of season 8 could had been a standalone movie, and it had been a total banger.
If he hadn't, we wouldn't have got Hamilton.
It's amazing to see that House is genuinely happy in this episode.
If anybody here is thinking that a stay in the mental hospital would benefit them, do not hesitate. It is the best thing that could ever have happened to me. If I hadn't been admitted against my own will, I would 100% have ended it all. Never give up on yourself, because there is most definitely somebody who will mourn your life.
Everyone is important and here for a reason. Never give up. We need you.
That is the truth!! Stay safe everyone
Alvie saying “I wanna get better” brought a tear to my eye...so effing sweet
One of the greatest shows that was ever created. My only wish is that it could have went on a little longer, but all good things come to an end i guess.
they run out of ideas! Actors get burnt out on their character! Another words, the whole sceen just gets stale!
If you don't tear up with this clip, you should rewatch house again :,)
Our modern culture is turning humans into Vacant abstratified humanoids.....I don't see a lot of people getting tears for authentic things anymore.....
House's psych arc really resembled One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
I see no Ratched in Mayfield lol.
You should know that the Cuckoo Bird is one of the few that never makes an Nest....
I think this is an anti cuckoo’s nest.
House starts by thinking the staff are his enemies and has to learn they’re there to help him.
Why is Booger in the Nut House?
@@ghost9-9ghostoof
Yooo freedom master is there 3:20
Seeing alvie take inspiration from house and decides to take his puts a tear in my eye
I
Its such an undervalued thing, but that simple moment when you find your footing and stop free-falling is so important, so powerful.
I want to get better. I STILL want to get better.
She chose her family. He chose humility. Right moves all around.
Aw Amy finally won, her brothers in rehab. And Captain Holt helping him is so nice.
(B99 anyone??)
😂
RIP Andre Braugher
This was kinda a high point for House in a way I think. He legitimately took steps to get better and was better...then he made the biggest mistake of getting involved with Cuddy and staying at Princeton-Plainsboro. He alwyas would have been better in research.
House would be miserable in research.
He may say he doesn’t care about patients but everybody lies.
His actions prove he cares deeply about his patients even if he denies it with his words.
I find it great that not just the Doctor, in the medical area is looking at Alvie. Not all of them, but still.
RIP Andre Braugher🙏
I would’ve been pissed not to get cake
The cakes not for you bruh
You can only pull yourself out by the bootstraps if you ever had boot straps in the first place.
I felt terribly for Dr. Nolan, bet he was incredibly disappointed when he heard about House's attempted manslaughter in Season 7's finale.
I think he knew it wasn’t attempted manslaughter because house is smart enough that if he wanted to hurt someone he would have.
I bet he was disappointed and concerned.
Series finale spoilers:
Dr Nolan believes he failed house and house ended up dying in a fire while high on heroin.
He doesn’t know that house is alive and did benefit from Dr Nolan’s care.
Daily reminder thar House MD is THE BEST SHOW EVER MADE
Very therapeutic to watch 😊❤❤️❤️❤️💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
I really enjoyed this episode. It’s one of my favorites.
Simply the best
Is it me or is the face splash on the cake unscripted and these are genuine laughs?
Such a blatantly disrespectful waste of cake, I'm angry
The cake is for House, he can do whatever he wants
Not all meds are good meds
but now, how does House not forever connect pain with growth?
I love House , number one character on tv in the last twenty years I say , Dexter is in my top 3,
Uij, wusste gar nicht, dass Franka da mit rennt...
I have a request for a video… All I remember about it is the quote from House to his students that he’s recruiting/making compete for his team.
“Heeeeere’s OSAMA!” Making them believe they’re treating Osama bin Ladin. Please give us that video because I can’t find it and have been looking a lot??? 😭
Rip Andre 😢
They let a young kid like that answer the door? Where the heck do they live?
The best series finale that never was.
"PREPARE TO SUCCEED" on the bus......:)
I need this season, but where
Hulu
The show really should have ended here…. It was the most beautiful and poetic ending for Greg House
inspiring
I'd be so mad, I would of wanted some of that cake
How can you get back what you never had?
I got stuck at S08E01. Never watched a series with that kind of setback. I hated it. Just wanted one more season of weird cases. Just that. Didn’t need the world to implode on itself. Don’t know if I’m going to continue watching it. What for?
I recommend watching the 8th season. It doesn't fly as high as the pre-insanity era of the show, but it's definitely the best season of the post-insanity era. It's a good closure, and there are some fine patients.
Wouldn't House be zero years old?
lin manuel miranda jumpscare
It's Anne Frank from AHS
He tried to destroy a family to satisfy a fleeting pleasure....
Yeah, empathy.
He was just being honest with her. One last goodbye. He wouldn't actually do that....surley
The old house would have put up a lot more of a fight to keep her to stay.
I have to admit wrecking a cake intended for a floor of people who have nothing to look forward to in their day ever, just to get a laugh for himself seemed a bit cold-hearted. But hey, it was House, so it was charming.
@@heidikickhouse- bro you just hate house lol
Hmmm… It’s difficult to say.. when you went after someone, you forget the pain you’d inflict on people around you.
Was house slamming his face into the cake scripted? Lol
House be hittin on Jason Bourne's dead gf.
thx for the connection. knew her face looked familiar.
I was so confused to see lin in this roll? seeing all he has done now with his career, seeing him as a minor supporting characters seems weird. lol
I mean i know that at this point in his career, it was a good role. but from where he is now, it looks funny.
She belongs to the streets.
first
Interesting that they equated “taking pharmaceuticals” with “getting better”. 🙄 Good episode otherwise.
Don't take asprin next time you get a headache
@@tomassmith2088 I don’t. That aside, there is a huge difference between a mild pain reliever vs SSRI drugs. Rates of mental illness and suicide dramatically increased since the mass prescribing of SSRI “treatments” started. Google it.
Then you missed the point, is not about the meds, it's about Alvie's accepting he has to take his meds a first step to get better and stop denying it. Could be pharmaceuticals or like in House's case, just opening up to someone about it.
@David Bond right. People didn't have problems before pharmaceutical drugs. Nothing a bottle of whiskey per night couldn't fix
@@tomassmith2088 Nobody said there weren’t problems before SSRI’s. What a weird thing to say.
2:52 am I crazy or does it look like house wanted to cry here for a sec but held it back?
franka potente ist immer noch die beste DEUTSCHE (for u amis) schaupielerin, echt...! subba franka... lass dich net!!!
she was great in these two episodes
seeing alvie wanting to start getting better after seeing house turn himself around and seeing it isn't impossible just has to make you smile. lin-manuel miranda is an amazing actor
that's what Big Pharma want sheep to believe..beee, meds good, beee, more meds even better, bee, beee!
I will never judge someone’s acting by a musical again.
Whats even more inspiring is Alvie managed to get better, and go on to write the worldwide musical sensation Hamilton.
Reports of his fame are highly exaggerated, exacerbated by the fact that his syntax is highly complicated
😂this is the best comment on here
Hahahah 😅😂
@@moreblack😅😂😅
What are you referring to, what reference is this?
Rest in peace, Andre Braugher (1962-2023). Thank you for all your incredible performances throughout the years.
Some of Houses happiest moments were in that psychiatric hospital.
Whats not to love about an Asylum? There's a reason we use that word in multiple ways....often meaning protection....
Hugh and Andre's chemistry was something special, whenever they interacted I was glued to the screen. 2 incredible actor's bouncing off each other perfectly.
I used to be against this but looking at it now, I wish it had happened for them but I truly understand trying to make it work with your family
Two of the best actors ever.
I miss Homicide: Life on the Streets 😊 Braugher was so good in that. As was Richard Belzer. Long live Det. Munch.
@@superschmolz I love that they moved Munch to Law and Order. If you haven’t seen Men of a Certain Age, watch it. Braugher is great in it!
@@doomsdayaddams2894 Munch was a great fit on those shows.
If this was the last scene in the series, I wouldn’t be opposed to it. In this scene, House is off Vicodin, but more importantly he has learned to connect with people and be vulnerable with them. Just like Nolan said, House reached out for help when he was hurting instead of resorting to Vicodin. That’s a complete transformation for House! Also, Chase and Cameron are newly married, Cuddy has the baby she always wanted, 13 and Foreman are still a couple, Taub and his wife have reconciled their differences, and Wilson isn’t dying of cancer. In the Season 8 finale, Cameron and Cuddy are gone, 13 was pushed to the way-side, Taub has two daughters and a complex relationship with each mother of that child, and Wilson has a death sentence of cancer. We were also introduced to two characters who just came in and left for one season. Moreover, House’s main problem with addiction and emotional baggage are not completely resolved. I don’t think the show goes to hell after this, but if you wanted a complete and happy ending, this is where you should stop watching the series.
That's kinda the point though. From the beginning to the end the idea that "People don't change" is engrained in it. House says it all the time. There maybe spurts of change. There was time when I actually questioned if this was just an act by House. I don't think it was... but I honestly couldn't rule it out.
@@wolffiegaming This is the weird oxymoron. He’s changed, but he’s still the same House that we know. I think House has changed for the better with him no longer being dependent on Vicodin, but he’s still the brilliant doctor that he always took pride in. It’s not just about House being happy, but rather having a clean ending without any loose ends and that’s what the series finale doesn’t have. This scene has that and i can’t find another point in the series that has those attributes.
I think that’s the point…
According to Dr House AND F. Nietzsche (from what I remember, could’ve been someone else) “Life IS Pain”
The show ending in bittersweet tragedy isn't necessarily "bad", for a piece of media that's trying to portray parts of the human condition.
Reminds me of Bojack Horseman
“Back off, people already think we’re gay.”
*Hugs him anyways* 😂
man, watching alvie ask for his meds to get better and then seeing that doctor smile just gets me everytime. you can see that the doctor knows that he has made up his mind to become healthier and go back to the world. and i absolutely love it!
Alvie is one of my all time favourite characters, he was so sweet and inspirational and felt so genuine. The way he bonded with house always felt so real and I miss watching them 🥺
Alvie was HILARIOUS and so lovable in the Baggage episode too.
@@hollyb6885 he really was 😭😭 I wish we saw more of him
Was his character inspired by the Sopranos?
I had a hard time quitting vaping. The scene where Alvie turns and accepts his meds to “get better” drove me to quit in no time. Thank you House ❤
Hugh Laurie has always been an amazing actor. It's sad that the show ended but the ending is flawless nonetheless. Every show has its own drama, suspense, and humor. Hope for the future of all actors and love to see their future work
I fell into a deep show hole when I saw the final end.

This should be final episode of House, perfect ending.
I love this two parter episode. In my opinion, "Broken" is one of the best episodes of the entire series. It differs in its different environment thus allowing the viewers the opportunity to see House in a different perspective. The writers take complete advantage of these new unique scenarios to masterfully develop the story and the characters.
Best episode ever, so heartwarming, which is unlike a typical house episode. I really felt a new house shine through as he was leaving the institution! ❤
yes, personally I just love the silent lady - freedommaster incident, even if it gets criticized sometimes for sentimentality
The season premiere 2 episode special from season 6 is without a doubt my favorite in the series. It was different but done very well!
Too bad Wilson or Cuddy could not drive him home. Made him take the bus. Some friends.
RIP Andre Braughter, such an underrated role of his was in this show
So cool you could upload it with The Frames' "Seven day mile" song without chopping it like you did with the wedding scene because it makes the end of the episode perfect.
Thank you. I've been searching for that song
RIP Andre. Loved this role.
House is such a great actor and so handsome
"Back off. People already think we're gay." 🤣
So Wilson isn't the only man that House has gotten close enough with for people to think that.
Knowing how people sexualize a certain level of intimacy, that could mean that House just had a lot of capacity for emotional intimacy under his gruff exterior--or it could mean that he was a closet bisexual.
Glen Hansard was a great choice for the end song there. Perfect emotion for it.
The best episode of whole series. I dont mind if this was the final episode 😭
I know it’s just a show but there is so much beauty in this world never forget that
After this experience I really thought it could be possible for House. 😔
It was possible. But Cuddy dumped him lol.
Imagine you're the last person on the bus and your stop comes right after the mental hospital 😆
Okay here's a joke for ya, Captain Holt from the 99, God's personal scribe Metatron, and Alexander Hamilton meet in a rehab centre...
LIN MANUEL MIRANDA?!?!
yes, but even Lin knows not to use all caps.
@@mavfan1HE DOES?
Is that Lin-Manuel Miranda singing, right?
Man , never knew they did a Hamilton crossover with House M.d
4:45 i don’t know why but this part was deep for me. You can tell house had a real impact on him!
RIP Andre Braugher.
3:43 when Stacy posts House M.D. and all is going smoothly 🙏
This series demonstrated addiction very accurately, including recovery. Recovery is not the linear path of progress we'd like to believe it is, whether one slips or relapses into their addiction of choice or not.
I just realized that's the same house they used in Dodgeball...
This was the best season of House imo
Franka Potente and Julia Stiles basically don't need to be two different people, i thought this was Julia the whole time
Amazing actor☆ Can play any part given to him.
Happy Re-Birthday
I actually kinda wanna go to this rehab
He hyjacks the bus and drives it into cuddys house 🤣
3:45 It's Pilant! Hiding in a Psych Ward as he formulated his plot against Bones was really a great idea!💯👌😂🤣
3:40 I've read comments this was improvised. the reactions were real.
"I want to get better."
Those five simple words can be so hard to say sometimes.
im surprised hes never played doctor who.
I can't focus on Andre knowing Brooklyn 99 exists lol
Worst thing House has ever done: wasted cake!
it was such an excellent episode, the thing between him and Lola* (I mean episode in the sense of dramatic episode not literal serial TV episode). *Lola from Run Lola Run.
