People really underestimate Leon’s size and its factor in this division. Was the first time Usman looked the smaller fighter in WW. For this reason, his takedown defence, and top level striking, I just can’t see colby winning this.
I think people who ain’t hard core don’t watch Leon or most quite guys. But he is elite everywhere. His opponents realize they doomed pretty fast when they can’t get him down. Usman only one who did well vs Leon 1st fight but Usman is also bigger then most and best welterweight ever. Leon gone finish Colby and dominate this division

I agree 100%. But comparing Usman to Colby doesnt make sense. Usman is content with holding someone against the cage. Colby is going for the takedown constantly. I still think Leon’s takedown defense holds up and he gets the win, but this wont be the same as the Usman fight
Colby got a shot because it's a win win for the UFC. If Colby wins they've got a guy that can sell fights/talk as champ, if Leon wins, he beats the guy that talks/sells fights and it makes him a bigger star for his next fights. It's all business. Leon could have fought and beat Belal, and have half the amount of people care then if he beats Colby.

Idont have a problem with Colby fighting for the belt, but honestly, I would’ve loved to see him fight at least one contending matchup first, like Belal or Gilbert, if he beat one of them this fight would of been even bigger
I agree, but TBH I really want to see the reamtch between Leon and Belal beacuse I think that fight was closer than people remember.
Colby fight Belal or Gilbert would’ve been more justified than a title shot at this point but him losing in a non title fight would be worse for business than him losing a title fight. He will bring way more PPV buys than either of those guys, and even if he had fought Belal or Gilbert and lost, neither would really turn into stars off that victory. This is the best business decision for the UFC.
