I'm soooo glad you included the footage of the fire extinguisher lol. I was to busy cleaning up my poor truck to get any footage 🤣. Great trip man. I look forward to the next one 👊
I did the Rubicon back in the mid 90's with my friend Jesse. His $40,000 tricked out 2 door CJ7. Running 37's back then. He drove, I spotted and walked. The whole way. No major bypasses back then. It took us three days. 😄 Back then, a three day trip was the norm. Day 1 to Buck Lake, Day 2 to Rubicon Springs, Day 3 Cadillac Hill and out.
The size of these bigger, newer Wrangler/JT’s is evident here. I took my old XJ on this trail twice with no major damage or issues. It was well built but only on 33’s and it was just the perfect size to snake through all these tight areas. Hats off to you guys for taking such nice rigs up there!
Another great, entertaining video. Thank you. What an ordeal! It has to be extra tough in the heavy campers with smaller tires and less clearance than I typically see in rubicon trail vids. Hats off for getting through it.
Great job guys! Love to see the teamwork also even for the guys that came along. This is what adventures should be. Building us as the great people we are!
What a magical place and epic trail. It’s hard to describe how punishing the terrain can be but I think your experience sums it up! Great editing and story as always
Really great video, well done. I'm looking forward to seeing your other stuff. Been 10 years sice I been there but This year I've been putting together a truck that can make it.
Its amazing how much that trail changes over the years - I took a 2dr Sidekick on 33's through there back in '99 - only had to get winched once the whole time. Probably wouldn't get far on the trail now 😀
I have run the trail from loon lake to lake Tahoe in one day twice. only bypassing little sluice (that was before the blew up the big rocks at the entrance). I have also taken 2 days to get to little sluice and have to limp back to loon because of breakage. I sooooo wanted to go on this trip as i am a dirt lifestyle patreon. but missed out on the sign up. Make sure you have 3 to 4 days to do the trip. i don't even remember a half of the trip that i did in one day. take your time, there is sooo much many spots to just stop and take it all in. That trip is too big to rush. I will never run it in one or 2 days on purpose again. I just bought a gladiator Rubicon and have gotten hooked on your gladiator content. Keep it up!
Simply amazing bro. From the videography to the intensity of this trail. I would take a wild guess you return when the new gladiator is in its near final form!
I remember back in the 90's. They made a commercial/Documentary promoting the Mercedes M Class. Doing the Rubicon. It took like four months. A whole legion of engineers building wooden ramps to limp that thing through...."Rubicon Tested"...
I enjoyed one and two of your video I just got off the Rubicon myself course we don’t have a film crew like you I refer to your video when I show some friends what me and my girlfriend did 2021 four-door Rubicon went through very smoothly thank you for the wonderful video
Thank you for sharing. I will never attempt this trail but I learn pointers that I can use on much less challenging trails. I have a stock Wrangler JLU Sport with the Eco-diesel engine. I was especially interested in the diesel leak from shearing the bolt on the fuel filter cover. I am going to look at mine a little closer now.
That lake you cleaned up in is Buck Lake! Try watching the Dirt Nation channel. Those guys just did a Rubicon run. They had a portable welder with them....
I would argue that the drive around Buck Island lake is the most fun part of the trail. Lots of fun little optional lines. Edit: Holy crap, they paved the parking lot at the Tahoma side!
excellent video as always. Does this remind of the v8 special of top gear, Hammond failing to fix his power steering. to fix the bodge, of the bodge of the bodge!
Really enjoy your videos. Living in East Tennessee the trails are alot different. Is there going to be a video getting your friend out? They need to rethink the position of the filter so it don't happen again and also why plastic. Needs some kind of guard around the filter.
We made it out, after calling every dealer, buying the entire housing and electrical 2 hrs away, coming through the Rubicon backwards, fixing it, then out! Check out @dirtlifestylenate for footage of the saga lol. Many buy the diesel for the low end torque to off-road, so the placement of this thing is asinine. Full skids going in this week.
You need to do the 4dyce trail this coming weekend the 12th through the 14th Sierra truck Cal4 puts that run on but you can do the trail anytime lot harder the the Rebcon
In the video around 25 minutes you show a flat fender in the back ground, do you know if there is more photos or build thread? It looked awesome. Love the videos.
looks like a blast, i highly recommend carrying a stick of JB weld quick stick for just those sort of repairs, its a puddy that cures in 1 hr then its rock solid... i used it to fix a small hole in a transfer case tail housing that was puking fluid back in January and my buddies leaking clutch quick disconnect fitting.... i won't leave home without it now
The JB weld puddy stick is a life savor, smashed a hole on the ignition cover on our adventure bike in the middle of Bolivian desert. Out came the JB puddy and old beer can and we were back on the bike a couple hours later. Lasted another three months until I could find new parts in Chile. Have to say thanks to Shaw for an incredible video, gave me the inspriration to run the Rubicon for the first time yesterday on a endro bike. The Rubicon handed me my a$$ ;-)
Shaun, I think you should have a bed made for your Gladiator like Nate's, take care of clearance issues and look cool. Suggestion from a fellow Canuck.. cheers.
Guys you should carry a cake of soap (rub the bar/cake of soap on the crack until it stops leaking it might just get you out of trouble. P.s its a quick fix not a lifetime fix. It works on fuel tank not busted fuel filter lines
Once again Shaun you've knocked it out of the park! Phenomenal music selection, amazing shots, and really captured the feel of the trip! Great to meet you and hopefully will get to catch up with you on another trip!

I ran the Rubicon in 1979 with the fj40, 454/turbo 375 I had... It looks more rough now then it was back then... GREAT Video Shaun!...
Thank you!
I'm soooo glad you included the footage of the fire extinguisher lol. I was to busy cleaning up my poor truck to get any footage 🤣.
Great trip man. I look forward to the next one 👊
Dude that Yota is a monster. Hell of a build.
Toyota looked like it performed well
bro you should do a 3rd gen 4runner build for it.. it'll be nice..
I'm a gladiator guy, but Nate's taco is just such a cool build. Awesome to see more footage of it.
Great video!

It was off the chart back then.
This trail is brutal!!!!! Most people wouldn't do this! Thanks for taking us along for the ride!
Great trip even with my mishap. Thanks for being patient and great to meet the BC crew. Joined the Patreon, see you soon.
I like how you used your maxtrax to protect your winch line. Adding that to my mental toolbox.
Beautiful trail and footage. Incredible Drone work.... I like the River swing too 👍
I have watched a few videos on this trail, but I think this is the best footage I have seen so far.👍
Those ambers mixed with your other lights look like a big smiley face 😁😁😁 Great adventure as always
The size of these bigger, newer Wrangler/JT’s is evident here. I took my old XJ on this trail twice with no major damage or issues. It was well built but only on 33’s and it was just the perfect size to snake through all these tight areas. Hats off to you guys for taking such nice rigs up there!
The XJ is a great size. I’ve owned two of them in the past.
I’ve seen almost every single video from TSTN and this one was amazing. Great footage, keep ‘em coming. Your work is highly appreciated.
Thanks Paul, I appreciate you too!
Every trip you upload is a triumph. And I'm not just talking about the driving - I'm talking about the excellent videography and editing.
Thank you so much
"Good morning guys! It's day 3 of our 2 day Rubicon trip". Those are the best trips. Maybe not in the moment, but definitely afterwards.
Another great, entertaining video. Thank you. What an ordeal! It has to be extra tough in the heavy campers with smaller tires and less clearance than I typically see in rubicon trail vids. Hats off for getting through it.
LMFAO the fake Marco crack had me rolllllling 🤣
Great job guys! Love to see the teamwork also even for the guys that came along. This is what adventures should be. Building us as the great people we are!

What a magical place and epic trail. It’s hard to describe how punishing the terrain can be but I think your experience sums it up! Great editing and story as always
Thanks Jon!
Can't wait to see the new people and stock rigs at the end of the trail. This is pretty epic on their part.
Thanks for this Day 2 video too. It will be very helpful for me to prep for my own Gladiator run of the Rubicon Trail. BRAVO!
Epic! Great work Shaun + Nate!
Good on you guys for cleaning up the trail as you go ! 👍👍👍 Awesome vid !
That red Tacoma is awesome🤙🏻
Really great video, well done. I'm looking forward to seeing your other stuff.
Been 10 years sice I been there but This year I've been putting together a truck that can make it.
Thanks Shaun.. Fun trip
This is awesome. I'm so glad you got to wheel there!
Its amazing how much that trail changes over the years - I took a 2dr Sidekick on 33's through there back in '99 - only had to get winched once the whole time. Probably wouldn't get far on the trail now 😀

You missed hot spring on back side of lake ! Amazing trails. I’d love to come on your next adventure!
Simply amazing bro. From the videography to the intensity of this trail. I would take a wild guess you return when the new gladiator is in its near final form!
Thank you! Yes, that will definitely happen.
"Final Form" ? Jeeps builds are never "done". You sell them or die still building them. :-)
I remember back in the 90's. They made a commercial/Documentary promoting the Mercedes M Class. Doing the Rubicon. It took like four months. A whole legion of engineers building wooden ramps to limp that thing through...."Rubicon Tested"...
incredible as always

Love that line “I got time”. I laughed out loud. Good stuff Shaun.
Thanks buddy!
always love rubicon trail.. been local to the sierras. Wish one day i can take my 3rd gen 4runner to go on those trails.
That looks like a Team Overland shirt I saw. Love to see it; great group of guys.
Good to see my man @Marco 😎
Thank you for sharing. I will never attempt this trail but I learn pointers that I can use on much less challenging trails. I have a stock Wrangler JLU Sport with the Eco-diesel engine. I was especially interested in the diesel leak from shearing the bolt on the fuel filter cover. I am going to look at mine a little closer now.
Take a look at the steel housing cover. It sits 2-3 inches lower than the skid. Worst part? There’s room up there to lift it out of the way!
Great run on the Rubi!
Thanks!
This looks like it was lots of fun!
Great video, as always!
Dig the video brother. I would love to see you try the Bronco there.
Keep it coming!
Thanks for another amazing video. Cheers
Thanks!
Trail tip for everyone, take a piece of clean coarse sandpaper with JB weld. You really need to score the material for good adhesion. Cheers
You guys are awesome you take the tough trails for sure. I just got a 2000 wrangler I'm trying to restore but I'm just a novice.
Thanks and have fun with the jeep!
Looks so fun. Im still stock on my Gladiator so not yet
Another great video, nice video capture, great edit!
Thank you very much!
Great video guys!
Thanks!
Another great video!
That lake you cleaned up in is Buck Lake! Try watching the Dirt Nation channel. Those guys just did a Rubicon run. They had a portable welder with them....
Some day my wife and I will make it the need a few more up grades to our jk ,great video keep up the great work ...PNW Proud 👏
Thanks!
I would argue that the drive around Buck Island lake is the most fun part of the trail. Lots of fun little optional lines.
Edit: Holy crap, they paved the parking lot at the Tahoma side!
Best Rubicon video I’ve seen.
Thanks!
Love watching the same trip from multiple creators.
Awesome!
excellent video as always. Does this remind of the v8 special of top gear, Hammond failing to fix his power steering. to fix the bodge, of the bodge of the bodge!
I need to get out there and see what this rubicon is all about !
It’s awesome
THAT IS SOME" BAD TRAIL"😬😳Adventures &Challenging 👏👏👏👏💯💯💯💯💯
medan yang sangat curam penuh bebatuan, semoga sehat selalu buat kru the story till now. salam dari indonesia pasuruan rembang.👍🙏
Great episode. Gotta get Nate up here in BC to do some wheeling….
Agreed!
Really enjoy your videos. Living in East Tennessee the trails are alot different. Is there going to be a video getting your friend out? They need to rethink the position of the filter so it don't happen again and also why plastic. Needs some kind of guard around the filter.
Hopefully someone comes up with a cat filter conversion
I'm from Colorado and currently living in Knoxville about 25 minutes away from Windrock. Huge difference in off roading here compared to out west!

A must have,..in your tool kit arsenal,..."Super glue and Baking Soda.....
I was told that a Gladiator had no business on the Rubicon trail. Or was it a Bronco? Regardless I can't wait to take my Glad on it.
Yes very nice to see Tk you 👍👍👍👍🏆⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
In the video around 25 minutes you show a flat fender in the back ground, do you know if there is more photos or build thread? It looked awesome. Love the videos.
Next time try the Dusy Ersheim trail..... Slickrock trail.
Cool story
Waiting to see Part 2 when you Fully build that Gladiator out,,,,,
Would have loved to see the Bronco try this trail. Although, that is a good looking gladiator.
Maybe we'll take it next year and see how it does!
I agree, I want to see the Bronco run this trail!
Great video, what size tires were on the gladi? Any lift, the camera makes it so hard to tell. Thanks
Check out Moto builts bobbed bed for the gladiator.

Yeah I usually have some with me. Still getting my kit back together after switching Jeeps so not quite setup yet.
The JB weld puddy stick is a life savor, smashed a hole on the ignition cover on our adventure bike in the middle of Bolivian desert. Shaun, I think you should have a bed made for your Gladiator like Nate's, take care of clearance issues and look cool. Suggestion from a fellow Canuck.. cheers.
I’m considering some options.
The only 30 minute videos I can watch completely
Hey thank you, I appreciate that. Always trying to improve.
I’d like to do that trail someday. But I think I’d want a week, definitely not two days.
Cool y'all like the Rubicon.. I've been across it several times... Please tell your buddy... Thank you for picking up the idiots trash...
Beautiful shots! - What’s your main camera setup?
That looked amazing. Dude the fake Marco comment. It’s delicious. Had me rolling.
Guys you should carry a cake of soap (rub the bar/cake of soap on the crack until it stops leaking it might just get you out of trouble. P.s its a quick fix not a lifetime fix. It works on fuel tank not busted fuel filter lines
Back then. People were like asking my friend, "Dude!" "You spent $40,000 on a Jeep?" . Times have changed.
Once again Shaun you've knocked it out of the park! Phenomenal music selection, amazing shots, and really captured the feel of the trip! Great to meet you and hopefully will get to catch up with you on another trip!
Thanks Jason!
I had my dog somehow trip a can of bear spray INSIDE of my Powerwagon on trail. It was a disaster trying to get home breathing remnants of that crap.
I bet there is skid plates in the future !
🤔
Metal cloak with def add-on going in tomorrow!
I might’ve missed it but I assume that’s the fuel filter on that diesel? I feel like I definitely need a skid plate for mine now
Yes
Carry epoxy puttty for those types of emergencies!
👍
Shawn any good leads on good place to “lease” a drone ?
Amazon offers monthly instalments on them sometimes
Three days....That was the norm.
Bad Marco... Hahaha!!!!
So what happened with the diesel JL?
Does the fake Marco have a Marco impression “HeLlO i MaRcO iS vErY gOoD”
If Jeep made the Gladiator in two door, I would have considered it.
Moral of the story, 4 door jeeps still reign supreme on the trails. (Essentially) unless you plan to fabricate your own trail rig properly
So what was the exact part that broke on the diesel jl? Was it the water separator can?
Looked like external fuel filter housing🤷🏼
Day 3 of our 2 day trip...😂😂😂
I've heard. a bar if soap will stop a leak might have seen it on another UA-camrs vid as well
Shaun…Leave No man Behind?
Serious? Thats a Thing? 😆🤣🤣
Haha, no one was left behind. He jumped in with Nate and they went to a dealership, got the part, and went back and fixed it and got out safe.
I can confirm we made it out, eventually!
