Terrible. People close to Trump keep saying he believes it’s impossible to properly deal with Hamas while they have hostages. He’ll likely get as many women and children out as possible then when Hamas inevitably violates the deal after the first phase Trump will force Egypt to allow civilians temporarily into the Sinai. Once you take the human shields away from Hamas they’re in checkmate. At this point Hamas will either free the hostages and leave in exile or the IDF will try to save the hostages while exterminating every living Hamas member. Either way it’s a horrific situation. I’m confident that Trump will get as many hostages as possible out and that when he leaves office Hamas will not be ruling over Gaza. If he can just get Egypt to let the civilians in you could remove Hamas from power and then enable the Emiratis and Saudis to rebuild and de-radicalize Gaza. That’ll obviously lend itself to an Israel/Saudi deal and even potentially an Israeli/Palestinian deal in Gaza depending upon who governs there next and how quickly the Saudis and Emiratis can rebuild. Sometime during all this he also needs to deal with the Iranian regime and their nuclear program. It’s absolutely astonishing how bad Democrats are at this. The first time Trump entered office the Middle East was engulfed in flames with an Islamic caliphate chopping reporters’ heads off on CNN. Then Trump leaves office with no Islamic caliphate and the Abraham Accords. Now he’s come back to office again with the Middle East engulfed in flames and a hostage crisis in Gaza. Democrats in 2025 are incapable of managing anything even bordering on a competent foreign policy. They inexplicably seem to believe that if you’re just nice and give Islamists money that they’ll stop trying to murder everyone. Should be pretty fucking obvious at this point that Islamists don’t think like we do, they’re brutal savages, and the ONLY way to deal with them is with a bullet to their fucked up brains.
