11:00 The two large red disks are used to tell the hoist operator the distance down the shaft the skip is. The right disk is in 40 increments while the left one is in 16. (guessing) feet and levels. 40 feet and 16 levels. giving 640 Feet max. The skip is 10 feet above level 3. 13:45 Left is the big compressor, top/center and right/center are both water pumps. 16:18 Tank on the right is an accumulator, the right one is a water trap. 26:27 Yes heat ex-changer, but (guessing) It was used with that big blower to heat the air in the mine for winter. 29:21 The engine front center is a Buick "Nail head" V-8 being used to power several things and the compressor 29:40 Generator set for power. 33:00 That Diamond Rio truck engine is WW2 vintage. 33:42 To the left of Laura and under the cardboard is a critter. He jumps out and runs to the left behind the v8 engine. This is a rare bird indeed!
beautiful site! That V8 is an old Buick "nail head" judging by the air cleaner could be a 322 Fireball. With that thing screaming, along with the winch and gen going deaf would be eminent.
I’d have to agree that V-8 sure looks like an old Nail head , but most I’ve seen have individual exhaust ports , not Siameased as this one looked …… interesting nonetheless.
Wow! What is gem and a Half! This is well worth the time to drive out there! Thank You So much for taking the time to go to this one! The light Bulbs are still in the sockets, all of the cables are still in the walls and that heating in the Kitchen shack was still in MINT condition! All of the engines are all in place, and the cable for the Skip too! too bad the mine collar has failed so miserably. I would have loved to see the stuff in the mine too. but this was certainly a treat!
16:54 "Are you ready for an adventure, Laura?", I was slightly surprised the lovely Laura wasn't already on rope to descend. WOW, such a neat site guys! I pray to St. Barbara the scrappers don't pick this place clean. As always, thank you for bringing us along. Stay safe.
In australia where I'm from we call it bull dust and it's like talc and driving on a dirt road and you hit a patch of it is like hitting a super soft sponge. Love this week's episode as I do all of them, stay safe guys 😊
Had this one pinned for a while now. From what I’ve read it’s a silver mine dating from 1930s abandoned in the 80s Thanks for sharing and what a fantastic place. Can’t wait to see it
This was Epic! Sometimes just seeing the top side is enough for me! Great Job G&L keep safe! Thank you so much for doing this and sharing it with we the people 🙏
You did a great job on this. As you said, it could all be gone in a fire and all that machinery and skill it took to assemble and run it would be lost. Thanks for documenting all of it that was possible. Glad you're safe. Appreciate the knowledge and the sharing of it all. I felt like I was there and am in awe of their ingenuity. I hope the miners profited somewhere. I would've liked to see it all in working condition. What awesome engineering!
I was just there with my wife, dogs and a couple grandkids not long ago. Today I was on another explore and passed within 20-30 minutes of it. It's hidden pretty well.
As always, I enjoy coming along with you and Laura wither it is above Ground, below ground, and we cannot forget the drone flights. Evry trip is a new location filled with great wonders, some better than others.
Great job documenting a mining site. It's good to see a place untouched and intact. Loved the calendar that's the year I graduated high school . See you on Saturday for another adventure. Stay safe
Absolutely love your videos!!! Thank you for making them and giving us amazing content to watch. I know how much work goes into making these videos and appreciate what you do. The new dynamic duo.
Wow! Awesome awesome relic , history mine ! Seeing all the equipment in place ! Neat to see it all! And yea not worth going down the main shaft . Glad to see you both ! See you Saturday be safe out there ! 🙂👍🏼
Thanks for letting us know what we're looking at,very interesting ,I for one enjoyed, you added the music did make it more,,feeling as if guys still coming back.TX.
I bet those motors would start with fresh fuel and battery's what a cool place really enjoyed it like you said far and in between not destroyed and picked over
Old Bob wasn't THAT dirty my Friend. I took a freshly detailed truck 3 miles down a midstate western Missouri dirt road on a wrong turn, had to drive 3 miles back out.....after seeing what happened in those 6 miles, Bob looks good after an hour and a half jaunt. Great video, keep up the good work. Y'all both, Stay Safe and Be Blessed, and we'll catch you folks on the next one. 🙏🇺🇸
Very cool find on this one. Sure wish that the collar hadn’t collapsed. From the looks of the hoist gauges and the drum I would guess it’s probably about a 200’er maybe a little more. Really nice finding a site that’s so well preserved. Thanks for sharing this one with us
Anyone else see the lizard from 16:14 - 16:17? Look on that piece of wood sticking out at the bottom of that round, rusted accumulator. He moves fast! Oh, and at 33:42, you can see what I think is a pack rat run out from behind that white board next to Laura!
33:55 Strange that they wrote it on cardboard, but that's an engineering survey from the centerline from the opening of the adit through the mine. They assumed north and based their monumentation from there. There is a set point somewhere in front of the opening that can be reestablished to complete the same survey. The benchmark. This is why I love the slowdown. There's still something I saw in the header of the wall with a plaque of some sort that I'm so interested in seeing 🤣
Excellent site! I love the team uniforms, except Laura really needs red suspenders. That would complete the look. (then again, it may be too dorky) 🙂 Take care.
Love the channel. Love seeing the pac rat run behind Laura on her left at 33.42. 😂 you guys are the best. You give great information on these sites. Keep up the great work.
Great video you have here. As an ex-miner myself, judging by the looks of things and what you are stating, it appears they may have been mining Dolomite, Gypsum, Flint, Pyrite, Quarts, Bauxite, Calcite, Chalk, Clay Minerals, Silica, Siderite or possibly Magnesite. Other than that, it is guess work. The accumulator you had shown is likely a hydraulic accumulator with a diaphragm or bladder design
Great explore! I loved the Hoist House with all its machinery still in place - very cool ! Shame the incline shaft was too risky to attempt roping down because I’m sure there are a lot of artefacts just awaiting you ! 🧨⛏🧨⛏🇬🇧
Hi Gly & Laura. Wow great find thanks for sharing this. Definitely not a Ford V8 of that era, Ford distributor at the front. Don't tell Frank The six cylinder winch engine looks like his compressor engine 😂 stay safe.
Something that I find very strange, the left top corner of the frame was blurry while the rest was in focus, then when you panned over to your right, it was blurry again, but this time it was to the right side of the frame, while everything else stayed in focus. I've never seen that before where only certain parts are blurred out unless you do it in editing. After you zoomed out, or changed direction, everything was in perfect focus again.
I am pretty sure that V8 was a Chevy. If I'm correct usually Fords had the distributor in the front and Chevrolet had them in the back. I don't know if they were all like that though. In any case real cool to see so much still intact.
Another perfect and beautiful location Gly and Laura. I'm always so very grateful and appreciative for every episode. Q&A question Gly ... I know Laura is a lady, I respect that. Have you given her the welcome " crop duster " ? & I don't mean " airplane " I have a feeling you and Mr. M. would have those " stinky wars "... 😆 😆 😆 Anywho .. I appreciate the channel and all the places that Laura and yourself go that I'll never do ( because I am 🐔 💩)

This is a rare bird indeed!
For the critter, it has a tail, looks like a rat, but much fluffier.
@@Spartan375X looks like a squirrel relative to me
Even after all your years exploring mines, your enthusiasm shines through ...
beautiful site! That V8 is an old Buick "nail head" judging by the air cleaner could be a 322 Fireball. With that thing screaming, along with the winch and gen going deaf would be eminent.

Agreed definitely an old nailhead

What a great hidden untouched mine! I love that there are still places undiscovered by the masses like this.
I’m so happy to watch your additional videos! Wow! Truly a TREAT on multiple days now!!! Thank you Gly, Laura, and of course Bob!! 😊
16:54 "Are you ready for an adventure, Laura?", I was slightly surprised the lovely Laura wasn't already on rope to descend. WOW, such a neat site guys! I pray to St. Barbara the scrappers don't pick this place clean. As always, thank you for bringing us along. Stay safe.

Wow that was amazing Gly and Laura. More just like it PLEASE.❤
Had this one pinned for a while now. From what I’ve read it’s a silver mine dating from 1930s abandoned in the 80s
Thanks for sharing and what a fantastic place. Can’t wait to see it
ive watched all your vids and this one takes the cake with the engines still in place that was an awesome site
This was Epic! Sometimes just seeing the top side is enough for me! Great Job G&L keep safe! Thank you so much for doing this and sharing it with we the people 🙏
Now THAT is incredible! What a find!

the V8 engine at 14;13 appears to be a Buick, called "a nail head". the valve covers give it away
What a great site, love all the items and buildings❤
As always, I enjoy coming along with you and Laura wither it is above Ground, below ground, and we cannot forget the drone flights. Evry trip is a new location filled with great wonders, some better than others.
This is and will be my favorite for a long time!!
Great job documenting a mining site. It's good to see a place untouched and intact. Loved the calendar that's the year I graduated high school . See you on Saturday for another adventure. Stay safe
Way cool. Thank you Gly and Laura.
it's a wonderful day in this neighborhood....
Wooow ! Thank you for sharing ! Epic find
Very cool site!
I think the small engine powered the generator for the sites' electrical power. Thank you both for the interesting video!
❤❤❤❤yes that needs to be preserved by the historical society.
Thanks for the Wednesday video. That was a great site that showed just how the mine looked when they were working it with all the equipment intact.
Very interesting. Good find you two!
Thank you I learned a lot. I had no idea it took so much. GOD bless you two.
Amazing thank you to you both that was a eye opener
That's a very cool mine site.
Thanks for letting us know what we're looking at,very interesting ,I for one enjoyed, you added the music did make it more,,feeling as if guys still coming back.TX.

Niiice Gly n Laura. If those hills could talk. Crazy movie!
Nice find!!
Great sight
Great topside explore! Thanks!!
The V8 engine @14:15 looks like a Buick "nail head" with a 4 barrel carburetor. Very cool!
A lot off interesting items left there wow.
Loved it, keep em coming
Old Bob wasn't THAT dirty my Friend.

So nice to see what the equipment looked like rather than threaded stud bolts. This is.your school video. Thanks Gly. Really enjoyed this one.
several episodes from 1 sight is awesome! Say thx to Ol' Bob for us!
This is the best ,so much had to watch is twice !!!!!😍🙂
Awesome guys
This was marvelous. It would have been nice to go down that incline but way to way sketchy, thanks for the tour.
Very cool find on this one. Sure wish that the collar hadn’t collapsed. From the looks of the hoist gauges and the drum I would guess it’s probably about a 200’er maybe a little more. Really nice finding a site that’s so well preserved. Thanks for sharing this one with us
it would be fun to do a will it start video on the old engines
ALL, so very interesting. Thank you for documenting this mining area.
Another great video !!
Is there a current claim on this mine? If not I would like to claim it and preserve it!
Great video sometimes it's great to see the topside only
Keep them coming
Cast iron skillet lid!!!!!! That glass lid maybe from Wagner Ware skillet.
That was a great find, the machines were brilliant. its a shame it is all left to rot, take care.
International Harvester made the Green diamond engines, maybe in the 40's. Great channel, Thanks!
Anyone else see the lizard from 16:14 - 16:17? Look on that piece of wood sticking out at the bottom of that round, rusted accumulator. He moves fast! Oh, and at 33:42, you can see what I think is a pack rat run out from behind that white board next to Laura!
You have the eyes of a hawk. 🙂
Awesome site
You should bring one of those Hot Rodders back with you to see if they can get that nailhead and flathead running! That would be Cool!
Outstanding video my friends
Thanks!! Cool
great topside video!
At 12:05, the flathead 6 might be a Diamond T Truck engine.
I was surprised in the outhouse. When a minor were using it especially sitting they did not write on the walls what they were thinking
Thank u both for sharing top notch stuff this adventure. 😊 Pretty well intact indeed.
Oh we’ve got plenty of dust here in the Mississippi Delta too.
Nice explore.
33:55 Strange that they wrote it on cardboard, but that's an engineering survey from the centerline from the opening of the adit through the mine. Is it Huuuman Leg bone in the camper floor!!😮
Love the channel. Love seeing the pac rat run behind Laura on her left at 33.42. 😂 you guys are the best. You give great information on these sites. Keep up the great work.
Could be a good hiking cabin
Great job you two.👍
Anyone else see the furry creature run from under the drywall at 33:42 time stamp? 😳👍🏼
One of your better finds, sorry you couldn't go into the mine but over all a good day.
Amazing find 🎉

So that’s what collects inside my house! Poof dust!
When you go down the shaft , you can see by the location of the bucket is at and compare it to the dials
Hey Guys, watching from Australia, we call that poof dust, Bulldust down here.
More or these surface exploration videos please. Even without the number of artifacts like this one. It's still very interesting content. 👍
Great explore! I loved the Hoist House with all its machinery still in place - very cool ! Shame the incline shaft was too risky to attempt roping down because I’m sure there are a lot of artefacts just awaiting you ! 🧨⛏🧨⛏🇬🇧
Like,to see your carry!
Hi Gly & Laura. Wow great find thanks for sharing this. Definitely not a Ford V8 of that era, Ford distributor at the front. Don't tell Frank The six cylinder winch engine looks like his compressor engine 😂 stay safe.
Distributor in front Gly Ford on that V8
For sure not a 289 they have a front distributor
I worked dirt all my life.We always called that kinda dirt moon dust..
Radio antenna on first building?
What do you think they were mining? with 2 engines... lots of maintenance and money to keep running...
Ford v8 has the distributor up front , Chevy v8 distributor in the rear
Something that I find very strange, the left top corner of the frame was blurry while the rest was in focus, then when you panned over to your right, it was blurry again, but this time it was to the right side of the frame, while everything else stayed in focus. Cool
Thank You both for an excellent explore! Could there still be electrical power to that sight?
Would love to hear those engines start up.
Cool site! Were there any dates on the inside of the electrical panel doors? 🇨🇦
Cardboard notes sounds like a treasure hunt 😂
I am pretty sure that V8 was a Chevy. If I'm correct usually Fords had the distributor in the front and Chevrolet had them in the back. I don't know if they were all like that though. In any case real cool to see so much still intact.
What was a note on the wall blurred out for I wonder?
Another perfect and beautiful location Gly and Laura. I'm always so very grateful and appreciative for every episode.
Q&A question Gly ...
I know Laura is a lady, I respect that.
Have you given her the welcome " crop duster " ? & I don't mean " airplane "
I have a feeling you and Mr. M. would have those " stinky wars "... 😆 😆 😆 Anywho .. I appreciate the channel and all the places that Laura and yourself go that I'll never do
( because I am 🐔 💩)
