I make the small blocks and when I get enough of them l use them for the center of log cabin blocks
Great idea!
That is a great idea!!
I like that idea❤
Brilliant idea!
Absolutely adorable. Thanks Jessica.
Thank you!
Oh my you are not kidding that’s tiny. You could use these tiny pieces scattered in places throughout your pumpkin quilt with all things fall.
-Autumn star above the trees.
- Mini fall hanging for front door on house block.
- make several scrappy ones like this piece. Combine them all to make a “quilt” themed block for your special quilt.
- appliqué one to the front of your coffee cup or latte block.
- you can also appliqué your kids initials so they each have a special star on the quilt too.

All great ideas ❤️❤️

Pumped about the upcoming QAL. Purchased pattern last night.
Adorable. I’ve been using my trimmed half square triangle scraps n making small ones but never thought of flying geese with small scraps. Thank you love it
I absolutely don't have the patience for such fussy work, but I do admire anyone who does. :)
Absolutely adorable. Love your teaching style
Thank you!
Those are awesome! I usually don’t work with pieces that small but when I’m working with what I consider small pieces I use a dob of washable Elmers glue to hold the 2 pieces together as I sew. It helps me a lot!
Those would make great cornerstones!
Oh my goodness, those tiny stars are amazing! I'm gonna try them too!. Thanks for the inspiration!
Oh the hours I could spend making those and end up with a quilt that would only partially cover up a Barbie doll! But absolutely adore them. Imagine them clustered together in a four patch along side larger blocks.❤❤❤
Those baby stars are adorable, I can see making them for doll house or Barbie for nieces
Omg Jessica you make it look so easy! They're adorable! ❤
Magical! WOW!
You can use those stars with your house block. They could be stars in the sky. 😊
The smaller I go, the wonkier they get!
Same, but I embrace the wonky 😂 ala MerryMabelMarket and My Sewing Room… they make wonky sawtooth stars with scraps too!
I loved seeing your glee from making the tiny stars. I think I will give it a try! Thank you
I hope you enjoy making it!!
So cute!! Reminds me of Wynken, Blynken, and Nod!
Oh boy! This year I have used 1 inch, 1.25 inch and 1.5 inch squares for different projects seen on UA-cam. When going thru small scraps to use, I mostly trim them to 1.5. I love watching you sew these small blocks. Great suggestions from other viewers. My first thought is Christmas tree ornaments. Take care! Marion in Oregon.
It is definitely fun using the little scraps! I have made ornaments out of tiny blocks in the past and they are always so cute!!
Absolutely ADORABLE!!! ❤😊❤😊❤😊❤😊❤😊❤😊❤😊❤😊❤
Hi Jessica, I have been searching for tiny sawtooth star blocks and found nothing. I am so happy now! I love tiny everything. Thinking of making a checker board style mat with these using scraps. Thank you so much for sharing these. 💗
You are so welcome!
These are so cute! I think I'll try them in red and use them on my Christmas tree.
I would love to give these tiny blocks a try. I have never sewn a Sawtooth star block. If you can sew tiny you can sew any size! I have some tiny scraps that need a block home. I enjoyed this video very much. I had to giggle too at their tiny cuteness. I will have to change out my needle plate to a single hole stitch to prevent the pieces from going into the sewing “basement”. 😊
These are so adorable Jessica! Great tutorial and ideas. TYSM🧡🧵
Thanks so much!
I love this so much! Thank you for sharing this with us! 💖☺
I'm enjoying each of your VLOGs, and especially enjoy these itty bitty stars! I've been on a mini-making journey this year, so it's fun to see you doing these little guys. You must be a great guild president, too. Keep up the great work.
Thank you very much! And, thanks for watching!
Check out the Karen Buckley scissors…they are amazing!
They are so cute!💜
Thanks!
Your fabric matches the size of flying geese!
I love these, thank yo
This was so fun to watch. So teensie tiny. I could see possibly a wall hanging or doll quilt. I don't think I have the patience, but I will go ahead and try because I might like it!!!
Super cute 🥰 and I am definitely inspired and tempted to try them as well. Your enthusiasm and joy is contagious 😉
So cute! ❤❤❤
Thanks!
Those are so cute. Yes I'm going to try them for sure. Thank you!!!!❤
You are so welcome!
So adorable! I just finished a project that was 3 blocks with witches boots and ankles basically that used a lot of 1" squares. Lately, I'm obsessed with sawtooth stars and flying geese!
That sounds so cute!!
So cute ❤ The smallest star blocks I've tried are the 4 inch Accuquilt blocks.I think my machine would eat those tiny pieces.😂
They would be great to use to patch holes in jeans ❤
I can imagine these in a doll quilt, especially if you had made a matching toddler/ child quilt with regular sized stars. The one inch is as small as I’ve gone, but I made them wonky, which is simpler (for an improv sampler quilt).
That definitely would be adorable!
Adorable
Sew cute!!!!
These are super cute! I may have to try this. 😊
They are very cute 😊 something to do with scraps
Amazing😂❤
Adorable ❤❤❤😊😊😊
Thanks!
Adorable little blocks, I will try the one 2.5 unfinished star block.
On my tiny piece blocks, the smallest makes a 3-inch 9-patch. So they’re small-but yours! Gracious! For some of the blocks I’m figuring out how to use Kimberly Jolly’s method of using bigger pieces where possible and then trimming the blocks down to size. It’s working pretty well so far. This is fun, Jessica! 🥰
A whole quilt with the teenies....but think of all the tiny scraps of fabric you could use up.
I definitely thinking about it!!
Love the tiny blocks. I was wondering if you starch the fabrics?
No, I do not starch.
I try making both sizes today and they came out pretty good. I might have to make more. My quilt guild issued a mini quilt challenge too.
I don’t know about sharpening the scissors you are using, but I can recommend the kind I use for trimming tiny pieces for a collage quilt. They are Karen Kay Buckley 6” with blue handle. Cost a little more maybe, but made my life so much easier! 😉
Thank you!!
I participated in a wonky star exchange and received a lot of various sized blocks. Instead of having wide empty background spaces in the quilt, I made a dozen of those tiny 2 inch stars and scattered them around the quilt top. At first, I thought it would be cute to make a whole quilt with them, but I had enough after making the dozen. 😅
Yes, it would be hard to stick with when you need so many to do a quilt. I'm thinking about trying!
Jessica have you lost your mind? lol I can hardly stand to make the little block that are 6” finished. But it’s so adorable I’m gonna have to try it ❤
🤣 The are so tiny but so fun! I hope you try!
Absolutely adorable, but not for someone with arthritis. Wish I could!!!
Oh my goodness! I have been working on tiny blocks for a sew along; which has been on hold for awhile. I have tons of 1 1/2 inch HST. The blocks really are cute, but I think yours look much neater than mine. They measure out right, but they just don't look as pretty as yours. I still need practice, I guess! I've never tried a flying geese, but I guess I can try it.
I bet yours are gorgeous!!
I take my Favorite scissors to our local hunting shop where i pay $ 1,50 for sharpening. Maybe you can check locally
Thank you! I will check locally!
You sharpen scissors just like a knife
Sew cute! Not for me. Great job!
Thank you!
Jessica can you do an EPP version of this? Do you have a tutorial on how to do your own EPPs? Thank you.
I've never done an EPP version of this. I'll have to think about that more before I'd offer it. Thanks!
