Be aware that these teflon mats should not be used with temps above 350°C ! If you do, the teflon will be absorbed in your food....not exactly healthy!
Ours is called a "Miracle Grill Mat". We saw it on an infomercial on tv and decided to try it out. For $20 it was as worth a try! It works great! We love cooking out and we still love using just the grates on our grill but we love to try out new and different things! We do get the char smell and flavor and it also leaves the grill marks just as if we didn't have the mat! We add the wood chips in the small iron skillet at times to give our food some extra smoke flavor. We are definitely "real grillers". "Real grillers" cook bacon, eggs, and sausage on their side burner too!! Can't wait to try cooking them on the mat!! May work, and may not! LOL! Don't knock it until you try it! Then you can post you're own video!! Just sayin!!
Lana Hibbler well said! I like grilling out too but I don't want to clean the grill every single time this saves on elbow grease and time! Love it and thanks for the review I'll be purchasing one of these today!
Geez allot of negative dumb comments, I have a couple grills, couple smokers, full sized griddle, etc.. I have gas, coal, electric, pellet and I still got these mats, why because sometimes your hungry and don't feel like cleaning. Every BBQ gadget has it's time and place, might not work for you but some might be the best thing ever.
I understand it for some things like fish or veggies… but burgers I tend to prefer the flame broiled flavor. Only reason I have a charcoal grill sitting next to my pellet grill.
Wonderfull. I just hope later on down the line they dont say its leaking a harmful chemical. Wonder what its made of to not get damaged yet rolls up easy. Nice though.
i heard you can't use these on direct flame.. Does that mean it should only be used on the hotplate side of the BBQ? Because on the grill side the flame can jump up from the burner
Nice demo my friend. I just got mine in the mail and wanted to see someone actually using them. What's in the cast iron pan to the left? Looks like wood chips?? Thanks for posting, nice job.
Thanks for sharing this information. 1. Taste?? As a Texan who loves to BBQ I have to ask if it looses the taste. I would worry about plastic at high heat. Yes it saves cleanup but doesn't foil do the same?
Great review guys...we picked one up and its called "Yoshi"...looks like the same thing. we are going to try it out this Memorial Day...i'll let you know how that one works...."As seen on TV"
For people on a fixed income a new grill is a big investment. Or last grill rotted out after 2 years even with regular cleaning. We just started using one of these mats with our new grill to keep it clean. So to all the people who think they are grill purists - there is another side to consider. Just sayin...

Thanks for the video, can you tell me what you have in the pan? Is that wood chips? And are they wet or you just throw them in there? Very interesting?
I got me some BBG grill mat and I see under the warning that it said do not use above 500 f for my new propane grill that I got can a grill get that hot yes or no
The grill has two purposes for me. Smokey flavour and not fat cooking. Here the fats stays near the food so it seems the same if I used a simple pan to cook the hamburger's. I have my questions about the chemicals this mat may be letting off in high heats? Any studies?
the mats are made of teflon which doesnt give off chemical smoke at high heat. its the same stuff they use on non stick pans so its food safe. also if you still want the fat to drain off and the smokey flavor cut a slot in the mat while you are cooking the fat dribbles through the slot then you just have to close your bbq lid for the smokey flavor because you are trapping the food in a chamber with circulating smoke... its like how smoking barrels work.
A frying pan on the stove top would give you the same results... You need the juices to drop and create smoke and then that gets the smokey flavor into your meats. Deal with the flare-ups and you will have some more flavor. Eggs, bacon would work great on these.
These Grill mats are good for fish. Fish is hard to cook on the grill cause it will stick to the grill. I tried using alot of olive oil on the grill and i also put olive oil on the fish and it still stuck like crazy to the grill. When i used the mat, it cooked the fish nice and none of the fish was on the grates. I wouldn't use grill mats for steaks, hamburgers, hotdogs etc. Meats don't stick to the grill.
+Wow schofield yes, of course, have a try www.amazon.com/LauKingdom-Non-Stick-BBQ-Grill-Mat/dp/B01A9THU04/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1460108151&sr=8-3&keywords=grill+mats
if you have quality burger with right fat ratio then you want that juice to be reabsorbed by burger. Same as resting a steak. If you have cheap burger that shrink by half then yeah there too much grease
No deal. No name material means it releases chemicals when too hot lol. Fire is like 1200-1500°F and this only withstands 500°F... do the math. Not to mention it blocks grill smoke, and that wonderful char and vapor infusion that comes with dripping flare ups.
Of course. Its bbq. That is literally where the flavor comes from, look up smoke ring. Smoke is only toxic if you inhale it. Consists of carbon monoxide, and carbon. Thats it.... Anything else is vapor off of whatever is burning. CO is a gas and cant absorb into food. The vapor is what you want... and the heat for a good sear, or ring. You must be crazy.
+justclimb77 -- It's PTFE, also known as teflon. Placing at at grill level on a moderate gas grill does not equate to burning it in an open flame. He had his grill at 350F. At that temperature you can hold your hand just above the grill for several seconds. Nowhere near as hot as flame. I don't need math, or more accurately grade four arithmetic, to tell me that.
justclimb77 dude, it doesn't block any grill smoke, the smoke comes from food is burning above the mat and that's a gas bbq not a charcoal there is not smoke from under
This defeats the whole purpose of using a grill. Why not cook in your kitchen if your not gonna get they smokey char that a grill gives you. A real griller would never use a "grill mat". Get outa here with that!
REAL GRILLER is just a form of barbecue snobbery. The right way is the way the people who are cooking want to do it. If you don't like them then don't use them. Simple as that. :)
Mr. M I think it is better for vegetables. that way you still get that smoky taste from the veggues to the meat, especially peppers! thats my opinion though haha
I absolutely LOVE hearing him talk!! I could listen to him all day.
One small tip. When you turn the bbq off, turn it off at the gas bottle first. That way you’re sure that there’s no left over gas in the hose.
Be aware that these teflon mats should not be used with temps above 350°C ! If you do, the teflon will be absorbed in your food....not exactly healthy!
Thanks for the heads up... GREAT video
They are also great for eliminating flare up.
What chu talkin bout?! I love it. Straightforward with some personality ;)

Awesome grill mat!
Solves my bbq'ing spaghetti problems.
I love mine too! Cheap, does a great job, easy to clean up. What's not to love?

No more flare ups this works awesome !!

The burgers were great! The juices of the meat kept the flavor in.
What about the taste from the direct flame? Isnt that missing?
wow you could do bacon on that to go with them burgers. How the grill matt thingy working out these days?
Might as well fry them in a PTFE frying pan. I do see the wood chips in the cast iron pan tho.
Great review guys...we picked one up and its called "Yoshi"...looks like the same thing. we are going to try it out this Memorial Day...i'll let you know how that one works...."As seen on TV"
They worl great and can ne used time and time again.

I think it's leftover bacon from breakfest.
Now that's how to make a youtube video for a product excellent .....
Nice job

Good video. I was thinking about trying one out. Only one comment though, you shouldnt use metal on the mat. It will damage it over time.
You only need to flip it one time. Just wait for one side to be done then the other side then done
no grill marks like TV shows. alien technology
Those are fried burgers!!!!
Flavoured by silikon
They are actually Teflon coated Fibreglass
@@gretathuumberg so put them on the stove top in a pan and get the same results! 😄

I payed $4 for 2 mats 👍. Testing it right know.
Wow Nicevideo how well did it work. I got the same price ones from Walmart. Taking it camping. Flavor is fine?

Great review , Thank You
Absolutely love mine It’s so convenient when you have barbecues to clean up as awesome after
More importantly: is it easy to clean the mat? Otherwise I'll just stick to cleaning the grill. Either way we still gotta clean something right lol
Looks good, I can smell your food from here!!!
👍
I have that same grill so I can't wait to finish this review!!!
I would use this for chicken for sure
Can these mats be used on a gen air electric out door cooker ??

Where are the grill marks?
Did he really put cooked burgers back on the same plate where they were raw? Hope he trusts his source.
I keep it old school grilling screw that
super
I've read alot of reviews and everyone says the juices all pool together.
if you have quality burger with right fat ratio then you want that juice to be reabsorbed by burger. Same as resting a steak. If you have cheap burger that shrink by half then yeah there too much grease
I wanna deal with grill mat
Your supposed to flip them burgers ONLY once
Just like frying inside isn't it?
😂😂😂
took well over half an hour to cook hamburgers. must take six months to cook a 12 ounce steak.

[Hello world]
its better for veggies but not greasy meat..
Why you dont make it in your kittchen? its the same if you use this grill mate. I dont like bbq if its not in the flame.
Soooo uuuh. How does it taste? More juicy? Less? Ultimately thats where the rub lies.
Don’t know why you’d turn your grill into a fryer. They sell grill baskets for small foods.

Mr. M WELL.. THE USER IS ALSO USING A GAS GRILL....
Mr. M I think it is better for vegetables. that way you still get that smoky taste from the veggues to the meat, especially peppers! thats my opinion though haha
Mr. M a real griller? LMAO....dumb comment of the day!
why are you mumbling?
Wats the point ? Same shit as pan
Нет ни спичек, ни розпалювача, ЛОХОТРОН!
This guy is afraid of his own grill. That's disgusting.
You were making a big mistake in your video. It clearly states do not use any metal utensils & you were using a metal utensil. Shame on you.
good stuff
