Fact: Hiraeth is a Welsh word that means "lamenting for a home that doesn't exist". It isn't some fancy uwu aesthetic word either, it was used to lament the erasure of Welch culture at the hands of the English, if I recall my history correctly.
Yep sort of right. As a Welshman, we would use this word as a phrase to describe nostalgia or homesickness in the way of want/desire. It's hard to describe, but here is a good example we were taught in school: After the forest fire, many people's hiraeth to their home was impossible since all of them had burned to the ground.
And I thought German had specific words for everything..
