Thank your speaking about this important subject. Black women matter. BTW, Say Her Name is being intentionally hijacked. Stop sugarcoating the issue.

I am so tired of these people trying to divide us, the oppresed. It is not enough that we are separated from all other groups, we must also separate ourselves by gender. Thanks alot.

I find it interesting that you have no argument for the substance of what the video was talking about. Talking about how racism and oppression affects black women shouldn’t “Divide us’ in any way. Thy are simply pointing out that black women are being murdered right beside black men and have been for centuries. However, due to sexism we are being told that black “male oppression “ is the only black oppression worth highlighting. This problem has existed long before the days of Martin Luther king, and anytime a black women speaks up on this issue is accused of “trying to divide the movement”. Which seems to translate to “ remember your place.

@@sherrisolomon2843 percentage wise. Black women receive more attention when it comes to the big new stories on police killings. Every year we hear about 2 to 3 big news stories on Black males being killed compared to one Black female. Every year 200-300 Black males are killed by the Police compared to 9-13 Black females. Black males are over 95% of Black people killed by Police. This was just another Divide and Conquer piece by Black feminists and white supremacist liberals.

'The Root', which refers to itself as a " 'Blk' media brand", was established by Henry Louis Gates. A so called 'scholar' who subscribes to the 'wht' supremacy based by-word identity "African-American", promotes the lie that "very few 'blk' people" have Aboriginal ancestry and does not discuss the fact that the very first enslaved people in this country were 'blk' Aboriginal Turtle Islanders; the Eastern tribes from Maine to Virginia. Of whom I am a Cherokee descendant, the Eastern Band who refused to go on the Trail of Tears, and Mattaponi (Powhatan and Pocohontas sister Matachanna's descendants). 'Blk' women need to stay far away from 'feminism'. It was created by and for 'wht' women. It covertly supports this system of 'wht' supremacy (the Suffragettes told the legislature that if the government gave 'wht' women the right to vote they would support their institutions of 'wht' supremacy). 'Blk' women do not have that same privilege to indulge in power struggles in regard to socio-economic privilege with their men -- who do not have the most basic right to Live with dignity. Blk' people as a collective can not afford to allow the divisions between men and women found happening in the feminist appropriated 'BLM' organization within our communities. It is time to awaken from the American Dreaming.

After 2:14 I see things differently:
Just like with the WHITE feminist movement in the 60s, the Black Woman (whom I love deeply but am presently disappointed by), abandoned the fight for Black freedom and joined this WHITE oppressor's philosophy.
Within that mindset, there came a rebellion against the Black man who was fighting for you, and a simultaneous active divide and conquer campaign by pushing the Black man out of the household, undereducating him while educating (miseducating) the Black woman with new nuclear-family destroying philosophies. (After that, she could singly raise the next generations of Black people with this new "liberal" white mindsets).
Now, generation after generation of attempting to free ourselves, we're faced with a multi layered obstacle within the Black community.
All other races survive and dominate because at the end of the day, they continue to reproduce themselves.
But the new Black community, which has fully embraced the philosophies of the "liberal" white woman (who herself continues to create white children; her overall infrastructure is not at risk, hence she can "play" at feminism all day long). This new Black community represents the multi layered resistance to the freedom (true freedom) of us by promoting (just as in the 60s they left to fight for white women's feminism before they got their own freedom) such things as New feminism, gay rights, LGBTQ2I, the right to inter marry, to look and behave like a white woman, and EVERYTHING else's rights.
It's not true that Black women who have had violence visited upon them have been ignored. In general, violence (racial) has been ignored by almost everyone, INCLUDING most of the Black community, ironically.
Those of us who cared, cared about all, including the women!
When we begin to get a foothold towards Black freedom, it is not productive, in my opinion, to introduce "but what about women" or"what about trans people" to the discussion.
Whether you see it or not, it is part and parcel of their age-old tactics of distraction and this has always caused our fight to lose steam and die. Except now, because they (most primary school teachers are "liberal" white women. Most Black women [the most "educated"] are getting post secondary education from liberal fields of study in liberal institutions (HBCU makes no difference)) have educated a few generations of Black people, this distraction springs up by itself.
    The Miseducation is complete.
The proof is in the pudding. Ask yourself honestly and objectively: are these mindsets that y'all have adopted , when extrapolated into the future, leading to the production of more actual (by which I mean the way Black people looked in slavery, not in Blackish) Black people; who are of sound mind, love themselves and one another, have the economic and military wherewithal to maintain that?
    No.
But years of conditioning will assuredly make you fight me or dismiss me on this.
But no matter. BLACK people WILL rise, in body and in mind. No matter how long it takes.
(I purposely did not touch on ANY of the Black man's failings because:
    1. I'm responding specifically to this video
    2. To me, they are numerous, self evident, and are harped upon all the live long day for centuries
    3. Because it is my belief that it was our responsibility to protect the Black family from day one, our failure is much, much worse because it encompasses all of yours. In other words, however you have failed, it is ultimately our responsibility because WE let a monster take you and us from our land and violate us to the point where neither of us can barely tell up from down. )
