- MCS Mahone is back at it in episode 3, explaining the different types of helicopter rotor systems and how they work. A Rotor System consists of the actual rotor blades located on top of the helicopter and the various components attached to the blades that adjust their pitch and make them lift the helicopter into the air. If you were ever curious as to how helicopters actually fly, this video will hopefully answer some of your questions! #aerodynamics #helicopters #aviation #aircraft #rotorblades #rotorcraft #mechanics #engineering

Guys, these videos are awesome!! Please start making them again!!
ultra nerd extra, & reiterating the seriousness of abrasion strips. Absolutely hooked as a first time watcher, good job ! 👍
You're really good at quickly and accurately explaining helicopter rotor heads and the added humour makes for a great video.
..and being REALLY dry at the same time
😄😂 Aerospace engineering.. absolutely cool video!! thank you
I'm a helicopter CFI student going for my check ride in about a month and this video was incredible. thank you so much for concisely explaining this. I will give this video credit in my lesson plan!
Thanks so much Devin! Good luck on your CFI checkride, that's a big one!
Really great job with the video guys. Love the intro. If I could just suggest one tip for future aesthetics of your videos. Have the speaker stand slightly to one side of the frame. In this particular video, the majority of the shots are Helicopter on the left, the speaker in the center, and empty (wasted) space on the right. It would just give your videos a real quality/pro look to them (search for 'Rule of Third's if that didn't make sense) if this was adjusted to use the frame space even better. Content is great by the way.
Thanks, yeah we're slowly improving our video/audio quality as we go along and make more videos. Thanks for the tip!
@@TheUpCollective Also, constructively, you spend a lot of time on-screen just standing there talking. When you are narrating the images, its more effective. That's the way the military has done it for years.
Hahahahahaha I laughed and learned a lot! Thank you so much! Great Videos
👍👍👍
If an flight instructor can't explain these forces to his student then they shouldn't be instructors
