Not a GSC player, but i think this detachment is nuts. The healing part of the detachment rule I think is a bait (unless you are on big monsters for some reason), the key component is that you can now kill your own units that barely survived to force a respawn (that are guaranteed due to the resurgence points system). You can even bring from reserves a tyranid synapse unit and still use it to kill one of your units since the detachment rule happens after reserves. The nids shooty-scooty unit will be insane here... since not only gives you all the utility they have on a regular nids army but you can now build huge bubbles of "I have +1 to hit you" straight from reserves (even bigger if you use Psi surge). Something cool about darting attacks is that happens on your shooting phase, or your charge phase, which means you can fall back then go to the shooting phase or charge phase and THEN make the decision based on whatever happened after shooting some guns. I think the first two units you mentioned + deathleaper + maybe some lictor variants will be the top picks for this detachment.
Lictors while getting in the way of rapid Ingres that cult might want, the ambush tokens still exist unless I'm high.. which function as a free Ingres mechanic just preset and is removed when enemy comes within 9 inches. And the Ryans just feel better, maybe one for the psychological effect of having one in your back pocket on an opponent.
21:00 I thought about asking for a Synaptic Nexus Video, since I just build a list for it and think it looks really fun! From what I've heard, it seems to be regarded as a weak detachment, but the Enhancements seem great, the Stratagems are fire imo and the detachment rule is not bad, although not good either. All my opinion though, am still a new player and only played a couple 1k games 😂
@@MrKaftpaket Well Nexus was one of the average ones of the detachments and it just got a bit weaker due to the AoC nerf. Enhancements aren't that worth but the rest is ok. Still has some tricks to it.
@@miztahmonstur Oh, yea the Armor of Contempt nerf does kinda suck. Suprised about the Enhancements, cus I would definitevly take the Power of the Hive Mind for the Neurotyrant and the Dirgeheart one for a broodlord, or swarmloard, or something more on the frontlines. This just makes me even more excited for your vid though lol. Love hearing your thorough explanations and thoughts 🔥
Ah and I take Synaptic Control Enhancement on my hive tyrant! I basically take 3 out of 4 enhancements in Synaptic Nexus currently and the only reason it's not 4/4 is cus I will probably forget about the Psychostatic Enhancement or use it wrong/badly 😂
@@MrKaftpaket Thank you for the kind words and the support! Tl;dr The enhancements just end up being minimal imo. Nice point-fillers but not good enough to be plan A for most lists. Also, don't forget Swarmlord can't take Dirgeheart because he is an Epic Hero. Nothing that wrong with them overall, but the activations for them are limited so it holds them back.
I was looking forward to this video! The flavor is fun, it seems good without being overly so the best detachment in the army ( necrons 😮💨) and it could be fun for a crusade match or casual games. If i so choose i just need 1k of GSC if i want to play this.
Also you can syphon heals from your gsc unit into a mawloc or winged tyrant. Trading a few t3 5+ save wounds for a t10 3+ save seems a lot more bang for your buck
@@EliteDarkAssassin Thanks for wanting to see my take! Yeah, it is nice it just seems like another good option for GSC players and gives interest for Tyranids players too. Heal trade def seems nice with both units wounded by a bit.
I like it, I think only notes would be that Biovores and Zoeys are not sturdy enough to support trying to use their shooting in small unit sizes. Would suggest keeping Zoeys as 6 for the Neurotyrant and if you want Biovore shooting shenanigans, a unit of 2 and a separate one of 1. Can only shoot one spore mine per turn and D3 hitting on 4+s isn't good enough for the 50 in my opinion.
@@miztahmonstur Why do you even need synapse? All you can do with synapse is hurt your own units to get +1 to hit, but all lictors and the HT hit on 2s, gargolyes don't do damage. So your talking only revengers, mawloc, trygon benefit. I just don't see that as being worth it very often. Even if it were worth it, you can use nerolictors for synapse. Instead, I wouldn't include any Malwloc/Trygon and instead focus on GSC doing the damage and fast moving cheap tyranids to get in close to give GSC buffs. Use both GSC enhancements and don't use either of the Tyranids enhancements.
@obsidi2 You also get a heal for models like Deathleaper but more importantly, it allows you options for repositioning by effectively pulling models to accelerate your gameplan. Whether that be pulling to make a charge harder so an opponent can't leapfrog or keeping your opponent from leaving an important unit on a low model count so you can use resurgence. Might as well make that a cheap, mobile character to get in position.
Love this detachment, cus if I ever want to play GSC, I only need 1k points to play a 2k army of them 😂
@@MrKaftpaket 😂😂 exactly.

@@martinobispo8724 Hard agree on everything. Healing seems like a trap but a nice tool to have. The timing of phases here will be massive.
