This etude is one of the most vivid clusters of Scriabin's individuality (as a composer) at his early stage. In almost all the performances of this composition, I always noticed how much the pianists sidelined the left-hand part, playing it rather mechanically, and at times, almost mute this integral part of this music. I tried to make my recording of the etude sound more polyphonic without concentrating solely on the main melody. I think that in this way the perception of its fantastic, unusual, sometimes even confounding character was only strengthened and became more apparent. I hope that you will find listening to this interpretation as interesting as I did working on it and making a recording of it.
