Death line is used to cover their lack of size. Its for their offensive while draymond they trust on center position. Their opponents will get confuse on defense because everyone is moving including the ball. While on defense they have this team defense with everyone is capable to defend any positions. But now without iggy, barnes or kd. I dont know if this will work unless kumingga replace cp3 i think.

Do you know why small ball had a great impact back then? Because twams with traditional bigs rely a lot on their centers to defend. Small ball negates that because they rarely shoot inside the shaded area.
Now small ball seems so-so because there is a rise of versatile wing players that actually play good defense. That is the small ball line up counter. Good wings that can clog up the passing lanes and punish them with points off turnovers.
Well, that's just on paper. In reality, there's little you can do if they make anything they shoot while you on the other hand can't catch a break.

You forget to mention these characters you naming are big azz liabilities on both sides of the court. Steph is the main reason this could work.

Just because Curry can withstand that test of time, it doesn’t mean the others can’t. The reason for them winning is entirely in spite of the age problem, but at all is it neutral, and it’s definitely nothing close to a benefit in regards to athleticism or anything

Moody played very well in the playoffs last year. I expect him and kuminga to be active part of the rotation, together with CP3 , saric and GP. They say also TJD had a big training camp so they'll figure something out. Everything can change with how much of a leap moody and kuminga will take, if they become reliable defenders and shooters (especially moody)

The real question this year is can the GSWs stop giving up world record open threes to their opponents. They averaged 6 open threes a game last year. They need to cut that in half. Secondly, can they play any defense on the road this year

The warriors are first round fodder. If the Lakers had traded Russell for the haul they got mid season they would’ve been a third place team and faced the Warriors in the first round.

They caught a second wind last season but a prime Joker, cohesive Lakers, and Dame with Giannis, the Warriors ain't winning shit. You need to use your eyes and see we're heading into 2024, not 2018. The reason why the "death lineup worked with JP was that he scored nearly 20ppg in the playoff series, but the one after that he dropped way below his 20ppg. Klay also took bad shots in 2023, as compared to the previous years. CP3 is not the player the Warriors need as he's injury prone. The same is going to happen with GSW with CP3 he isn't as good of a defender and GSW still needs scoring off the bench. He's a better playmaker that's it. Steve Kerr is not at the level of Nick Nurse or Erik Spoelstra where he can make adjustments on the fly. If CP3 gets injured the GSW bench will struggle.

You might have convinced me you knew something about basketball till you said the words "no bench" -yes the starting five is older, but due to the depth of this team compared to last year, Curry Paul and Klay will not have to play as many minutes. Plus as always happens when people use short-sighted analysis on the Warriors, they ignore the fact that there will be a huge amount of growth during the year especially with Chris pouring knowledge into the younger guys and the team chemistry being way better.

Ya. That lineup isn’t death dude. That playoff run had multiple warriors shooting outside their normal percentages and was an aberration. Same lineup in 2023 got spanked by the lakers on both sides. Poole was shooting a much lower percentage from 3 and the “death lineup” ended up with the lakers extending leads.

The only reason the got to the second round was because the Lakers didn’t trade Westbrook last summer. If they had the team they took to the playoffs from game 1, the Warriors wouldn’t be able to go to the second round. I believe they would’ve been the third best team on the west.
