Season 3 script is still being work on. Even if the script is done by the end of this year, there going have to be change, rewrite and other thing. Then they have to found location, setup as well as the actors schedule... there is a reason why drama take while to be done. Zhang Ruo Yun himself have a packed schedule base on what he working on. You also forgetting that Joy of life novel was finish a long time ago. The person is reading from the novel. It give a ideal of what to expect from season 3, but it does not mean that it will happen as it written in the novel. There were already change in season 1 and 2 from the novel. I am just wondering if the end of joy of life will be the same as in the novel. The shortest time would be 3 years if they get everything done. ( script done, actors free, location free, no WW3), but anything can happen within that 3 years to delay season 3. They even make a joke about it at the ending of season 2...

This season was very boring. They removed the very reason I was interested. No martial art, the time travel element was there. It became the usual boring Chinese drama where they just dance in circles with occasional flash scenes that would interest you.
